Exterior Extremely well fitted and finished with a whole new level of quality intruduced, making the vehicle really impressive when compared to the old Scorpio 4X4 model. One area where i remain concerned on the finish is the front cover, mesh and plastic splash plate used on the front intercooler.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) A very well finished vehicle with definite quality assurance and good usable features. Small complaint about the interior carpeting where in some places the finish fit is not as good as the metal and other finished in the vehicle.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Major improved performance, economy excellent and gearbox responsive. Although kick down feature sometimes over reacts to a more than requried gear. Once again i feel the old and the new Scorpio 4X4 requires a larger fuel tank, the new 60 litre is an improvement but could have been at least 80 litre's which would be more suitable for avid 4X4 drivers that really use the vehicle to the fullest extent. A definite additional feature which could be included in the next generations should be a 'SNORKEL' breather for all air intakes to ensure good water based usage of the vehicle as well.

Ride Quality & Handling Superb ride quality when compared to the old Scorpio 2.6 4X4. Handling on tar roads great improvement, on dirt certainly as capable but with more stability and overall handling excellent.

Final Words My second Mahindra Scorpio 4X4 and i am extremely confident that i will receive the same value and reliability from this second vehicle as the old Scorpio (138,000 kms trouble free motoring).

Areas of improvement To early to say as the overall immediate imrpessions are excellent and promising, time will tell and i will be certain to update this site for feedback in this regard.

Good upgrade from the old Scorpio, excellent fuel economy, softer ride and comfort, extrasAuto box kick down very sensitive often kicks down one too many.

Buying Experience was good. 3rd car after Zen & Mahindra MM540 Jeep. Driving a car was a good experience though. Best to drive with family but feels bouncy if not loaded. Service we felt too Expensive, for 6th Service we paid close to 70,000 due to some issues with turbo and some parts were changed. Pros: Good Looking, Feels like a boss while driving, Punchy enough. Cons: High Maintainance, Ride quality to be better

I had purchased an Used Scorpio VLX 2009 model automatic transmission. I hardly drove 200 km . Since the day One the Engine light was on in my Dash. The Showroom salesman said its no problem and his mechanic did something and the light was gone for two days. Then Its was a long story. So many things happen. Ultimately i landed in TVS garage ( The official Scorpio dealer in our town) . Now after a thorough check up they said the whole gear box has to be replaced and it will cost me 3 lacs rs. I think the TVS guys forgot that it is a Used car . Now i am hunting for a rebuild gearbox which i can not find anywhere in INDIA. Now you decide ,you really want to buy a SCORPIO????? Rgds William.
