The Quanto is a bit of a mixed bag and it depends on how you view it. Its keen pricing allows it to compete with several hatchbacks and it also makes an interesting alternative to one. The Quanto may not have the sophistication or finesse of a modern hatch, nor is it as frugal or easy to drive. But for sheer practicality, it's hard to beat. Its well-equipped cabin is shockingly spacious and the additional two seats in the rear (which we feel are best left unused) could be crucially important for many. Yes, the dynamics are unresolved and the cabin quality is not up to scratch, but what makes the Quanto special is its lofty driving position, massive ground clearance and sturdy underpinnings, which allow this compact SUV to go where no hatchback would dare to.

While 98.6bhp of power and 24.5kgm of torque from the small-capacity engine may not appear generous, the well-judged gearing and the two-stage turbocharger (a first on this class of car) results in impressive driveability. The engine hits a sweet spot from as low as 1600rpm and there is a linear and strong tug all the way past 3000rpm, making the Quanto ideal for low-speed and in-traffic driving. Trundling along in third gear at 30-40kph, you need just a gentle squeeze of the throttle to ease past slower cars. However, the superb low-speed driveability comes at the cost of top-end punch. Even the mid-range isn't particularly strong. The rubbery gearshift doesn't feel great either, but it's something you cannot avoid during quick overtaking manoeuvres. The shortfall in grunt requires a downshift or two.

Also, the three-cylinder diesel thrum becomes more apparent once you get past the 2500rpm mark and is hard to shake off at high revs. In fact, revving the engine to its 4600rpm redline is pointless as, in the last 1500rpm, it only gets more vocal without adding any pace. You feel the shortfall of power most when you load up the Quanto with a full complement of passengers or when powering up a hill road. For the record, the Quanto takes a leisurely 16 seconds to reach 100kph and reaches a top speed of 143kph.

Its keen pricing allows it to compete with several hatchbacks and it also makes an interesting alterThe Quanto may not have the sophistication or finesse of a modern hatch, nor is it as frugal or easy

Exterior Very good looking.  Everyone who came to showroom were impressed on Quanto and its exterior.  MOst of the visitors came for Quanto at Sireesh Auto, Bangalore.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Faily good.  No complaint.  AFter looking at several reviews, my daughter and I were worried about interior which was surprisingly good if not excellent.  The colour is sober and may be why interior has received poor reviews.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine pickup was very good.  Reached 0-80kmph in no time and from 80-100 in another few seconds.

Ride Quality & Handling As many people complained, there is a slight roll over at 100kmph speed which I noticed when turning to avoid a barricade.

Overall we liked the card.  My daughters and I were impressed. My wife wants a cheaper car such as a Maruti 800. As our primary use will be long distance drive on highways, I have decided to go for Quanto.  I will select C6 as I do not need air bags though alloy wheel and parking assitance are nice features in C8.  I wanted ABS, which is available in C6 itself and hence my selection of C6 model.

Very nice driveA bit inferior quality, lack of rear AC vent

Exterior Company could have make it little beutiful like duster, but infact the shape is practical hence 3 stars.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) I dont think there is other spacious and comfoartable car in 7.5 lakh. You can remove all the seats and put mattress LOL just a joke 😊. But yes its very spacious. I got leather seats installed from a  reputed agency and now its comforatable also

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox I had CRDi 1.5l verna, you have to keep eye on speed, but quanto is perfectly balanced.

Ride Quality & Handling It has a speed alarm system, i got it set @ 90 KMPH, so whenever car exceeds 90 it alarms me. Body roll is equal to any ladder frame vehicle. Handling is also good.

Final Words If any one is looking for a good SUV go for it. I bet as of today you cant get any at 7.5 lakh. We were looking at toyota innova but we got a bargain

Areas of improvement The plastic quality needs to be improved.

      SUV @ 7.5 LakhBad Shape

Exterior Good, Nice grills and front head lamps and fog lamps. The stepney could be avoided and placed below the seats for beeter looks.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) The DDIS, ABS, and Airbags make this car somewhat heads-up. Comfort is only in the first seat. 2nd and 3rd row seats lacks comfort. Features such as ABS, Airbags and DDIS are super.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Bad fuel economy, Gearbox is very hard. The rear view is not much good.

Ride Quality & Handling Bumpy Ride quality, Handling is tough.

Final Words If you compromise on many things and wanna accomodate 7 people within a 8 lakhs range, then this is a good choice.

Areas of improvement Good, Nice grills and front head lamps and fog lamps. Many, Mahindra should step out and reach customers for after sales services like Maruti and Hyundai.

Please plan before you go for this littlie elephant. Please do not approach Zulaikha for Mahindra, instead try other dealers.

Nice exterior looks, Engine,Seating, Interiors, Abnormal sound in the steering.

Exterior The Quanto is a sub-four metre car, making it one of the smallest SUVs in the country, is powered by a 1.5 litre diesel engine, churning out a peak power of 100 bhp with a maximum torque of 240 Nm. The Quanto is built on a body-on-ladder chassis borrowed from the Xylo MPV.

Cars or SUVs that measures up to four meters in length qualify for 12 percent excise tax. Mahindra currently manufactures the Xylo utility vehicle on the same Ingenio platform. Looks very good picked up from xylo so no issue in it. Back has been modified to give a new look and for a macho feel spare wheel is outside.Looks good . Side is also goes well with the body

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Same as xylo for first two rows , need to check for the third row. dashboard same from xylo . not good not bad . If you love xylo you wont complaint

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Need to check the new engine performance by mahindra. As on paper it looks mindblowing . much better than the competitor artiga.

Ride Quality & Handling Same as xylo not much difference

Final Words Worth every penny you spend

Areas of improvement Changes in interior are required, plastic quality, seeting comfort for back rows.

Price, Look, Fuel economy, height of the vehiclecomfort , 7 seater in sub 4 meter??? , last row

Exterior Good style but could have been made better with OVRM with light indicators and chrome grills.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Very spacious specially for driver and co driver. Even the rear seat are very wide. The last row seat can be uncomfortable. And many features are very good such as puddle lamp on all doors, 3 mobile charging points arm rests etc.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine is very powerful and the is an appreciable body roll. Highway milage is fantastic upto 20kmpl. Gear shift could have been made smooth. City average of 14kmpl.

Ride Quality & Handling As mentioned some body role is evident. But it is a smooth ride on when you are on good roads of india.

Final Words Worth for money that i paid for it. At approx. 9 lac if i get SUV feeling and can fit 7 persons with a great mileage on highways I dont think it as bad choice. Driver seat is very comfortable and helps on long drive. Good ground clearance and nice suspension is perfect for indian roads.

Areas of improvement Better service centres and after sale services. Something to control body roll. Engine sound can also be reduced though its not much. Also a little attention to be give to interiors ( quality of plastic).

Good fuel economy, lot of space, perfect to have SUV experience in the price rangeBad service centers, poor plastic

This is a review of a new vehicle driven for 2000KMs.

Exterior Not Much Complaints about Exterior, The only things is Bumbers could have looked Sporty unlike Old Xylo Traditional ones.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) No complaints on Spacing but on features like having a good quality music system with good speakers, Reverse Parking Camera in the top model alongwith the steering mounted audio controls could have added advantage, Front Row is comfortable compartively but this vehicle also carries body rolling issue (even on the low speed when you turn the vehicle) its not only felt at the front row (low) but really high for the back passengers. Otherwise vehicle is comfortable on high speed.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Surprisinly Engine does'nt look like to be 1499cc. Its definately makes you feel as if you are driving a 1.9Ltr engine unlike its other 7 seater competitors with upto 1.5ltr of engine. Fuel Economy is doubtful. I read somewhere in the user reviews on low fuel economy and I tend to agree that the vehicle is not giving a good fuel economy (may be I had breaking issue on my vehicle (Breaks are always on - Manufacturing Defect).

Ride Quality & Handling Front Row is comfortable, but this vehicle also carries body rolling issue (even on the low speed when you turn the vehicle) its not only felt at the front row (low) but really high for the back passengers. Otherwise vehicle is comfortable on high speed.

Final Words Well Quality is a main concern, I have seen lot of issues on my vehicle which shows the poor build quality like Safety belts inlet holder was not tighenned enough, the fuel lid (Connector) is broken, Sun Glasses Holder is not smooth while opening. Small Issues in the vehicle which comes in 9-10L Braket leaves you with disappointment.

To worsen the case, I realised that the vehicle runs hard and tends to stop itself when driving in neutral and I was informed by service center guys that the Central Breaking System is faulty (so another manufacturing defect) and it will be replaced (no ETA yet as the part is not in stock)

Areas of improvement (I hope someone from Mahindra reads it)

I am not going to be the first one to right on this. Quality is really bad. If you cannot increase the Quality. Then make this vehicle a lot cheaper that what it is right now.

Another Main Concern, The issues I have faced on my vehicle makes me realise that the Quality Inspection was not done before the product was handed over to the customer.

Tall Boy Design, Some Good Features - Door Step Light, Watchman Light & Parking Locator (Sound)Poor Plastics, No Audio Control, Steering, Vibration on Breaking & Tremendous Vibration of 2nd Gear

The Mahindra Quanto can do everything that a hatchback can only dream of. And more. The Quanto leaves you in no doubts about its machismo or its SUV lineage. You'll see it in the front fascia, you'll feel it in its distinct alloy wheels and you will notice it even in the stepney at the back.

Having the three pot motors' traditional imbalance in mind, I actually prepared myself for a thrummy startup but the Quanto didn't make much of a noise and at idling, felt like a normal four cylinder engine. It was when easing off the clutch that a gruff voice emanated under the hood and the NVH package did very little to keep the occupants away from it.

The noise only grew louder with every centimeter of the throttle travel and one is forced to shift to second gear as soon as possible. The Quanto's diesel heart  gets quieter progressively as you move up the cogs and gets unobtrusive only while cruising under 3,000 rpm.

Good fuel economy, less priceexterior could had been better

Exterior So...so. Does not lookly a fully finished car. Its just the chopped version of Xylo.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Front two seats are OK the back seats are useless and the middle one is like a bench. The AC vents on the front row is not adequate to cool all the areas of the vehicle.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Pathatec. I have faced 3 time clause failure in just 13000 KM. I am afraid to take the car in long distance.

Ride Quality & Handling Vibration is just too much. Gear hifting is not somooth and in transit the vehicle vibrates. Because of the height factor the overall body is shaky. Ground clearence is again a problem.

Final Words Its clause is absolutely bad performing. Gets burned friquently. Customer service in case of emergency is pathetic.

Areas of improvement Just scrap this car. Please remove the tagline as holiday car as I would suggest do not take it on a long drive.

      PriceMany...1st the clause, engine vibration

Exterior Very good, and comparable with any high end compact SUVs.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Very good and comfortable, spacious, and high so outside view is also very good.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Long haul comfortable, but diesel engine noise as usual which can be suppressed, fuel economy great, second gear is hard, climbing on steep climb on semi concrete road at 40 deg was found to strain engine with coil burning smell even though Quanto boasts of 100 hp with 240n torque. Not sure why?

Ride Quality & Handling Comfortable, and easy even on long haul of at least 13 hours nonstop drive.

Final Words Good family vehicle, spacious, value for money. It is no doubt a very good vehicle.

Areas of improvement Can fit steering mounted controls for lights, vipers etc., can be fitted with rear camera for better parking ; can use more sound proof from engine as it tends to increase after 4000 km; rear AC ; braking on moderate speed of 60 kmph the pedal seems very light and vibrates.

Good pickup, fuel economy showing 20kmpl, 5 sitting comfortable with moderate luggage, nonstop driveSteep climb on 40 deg gradiant coil smell, brake on high speed not too good.
