I PAID FULL AMOUNT TO BUY A NEW KUV100 K8 DIESEL, BUT WHAT I GOT IS A FAULTY PRODUCT.

      Problems are.

      1) From fifth, downgrading the gear is difficult.

      2) Distance to empty reading was not correct.

      3) Fuel lid was not opening properly. Need to remove the lid with a pen or a needle.

      4) Air noise comes inside the cabin.

      5) Glove box was not getting cooler.

First Issue is after applying break at fifth gear not able to downgrade the gear.

I have bought KUV on 31 Mar. With in a week i noticed this problem with 5th gear and informed to dealer.

I have informed this in all Mahindra  customer service calls. They will call again & will ask all details again & again. No reply or fix has been provided till now.

Even at the first service I have informed and a  mechanic drove the car and he finds the issue.

Then the service person said they will have to replace a gear SYNCHRONIZER ring which needs to be ordered. And sent back with out fixing it in first service.

After 3 months i got response from dealer that they got the part.

And now they are telling that the problem also with GEAR FLYWHEEL, Clutch Plate which again they need to order and it will take 15 days.

Service person agreed that 5 out of 100 vehicle is having this issue.

How come a new vehicle can have these critical issues.

This issue can lead to an accident. Human lives not important ??

Reason people buy a new vehicle is thinking it will be maintenance free. But what is the use here.

Exterior DesignCritical gear problem, Air noise inside cabin, Fuel lid doesnt opens properly, Distance to empty

      Exterior

Great front styling and also front 3/4th is great, but in focus of the fact that this should be a Sub- 4 Meter, rear 3/4th is rather ugly. Rear is again good. Great size makes it stand out on the roads, doesn't even lose it's precence on road with Fortuners and EcoSports nearby

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)

Great interior styling, a proper Multi-Color display is lacking, but has many functions and does them well and also handles all the functions unlike many cars (specifically Vitara Brezza) which have a huge screen which can't handle things properly. I loved the perfectly attractive positioning of the Gear Knob. Fit and finish is great, unlike many people's belief, it is in par with Hyundai and Maruti fitting levels. This car is smaller than the Swift and other hatches like Elite i20, but has quite a decent legroom, in fact is slightly bigger than the Swift or maybe feels so because of it's Beige interiors (compared to the black seats of the Swift I sat it)

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox

Not so powerful as I expected from a Mahindra (taking Scorpio and XUV in considerance) but is quite powerful and doesn't feel laggy anywhere, it's power to weight ratio is actually better than the Scorpio and others. Gear shifting sometiomes feels rubbery especially on shifting to Reverse Gear. Fuel Economy has fascinated me a LOT! Just one of the Best in Class (Even on road) unlike the Swift Dzire which promises 25+ kpl but offers less than 14 kpl on road

      Ride Quality & Handling

Suspension is great and also enhances comfort while driving, helps easily go over  ditches and speedbreakers without breaking. Body roll feels a bit much sometimes (considering it's dimensions), but doesn't effect handling. It easily steers on sharp cuts, but needs us to get a bit slow in some cases

      Final Words

Great car and is worth going for, than going for the more popular Swift/ Grande i10/ Brio. This is great but is not comparable to Full-Size SUV's(Scorpio, XUV 500)/Full-Size Hatchbacks (Baleno, Elite i20)

      Areas of improvement

Positioning of Dashboard on 6-Seater variant makes seating of 6th passenger almost impossible (if an adult). Boot space could be a bit more enhanced (around 270 Litres)

Many storage places, Great mileage, Standard ABS and EBD, Great Interiors'Not So Great' Rear 3/4 Styling, No AMT (is there even on TUV 300)

Its not 25.32 kmpl , its 10 to 13  kmpl in city and 16 to 17 kmpl on highway.

Feeling Cheated and being  betrayed by Mahindra.

I purchased Mahindra kuv100 k8 diesel on 2/4/2016. Many of my friends told that I am making a big mistake by choosing Mahindra kuv100 over maruti Suzuki desire. But I have ignored their suggestions although out of that two of my friends are owing Mahindra car.

I thought that if company is claiming 25.32 kmpl so minimum I will get is 20 to 21 kmpl on highway and 19 to 20 kmpl in city. As we all know that we get 2 to 3 kmpl average less than company claim.

From the 3rd day of brought I started realizing why my friends were saying like that.  On the 3rd day I have to go out of town for some work. So I had full the tank. I had started noticing that car was consuming more fuel than what company promised. When refilled the tank at that time I got 16.6kmpl mileage. I have complained to Mahindra showroom associate for that and he told me that I will start getting at least 20 kmpl mileage after 1st service.

But after first service I have noticed that mileage of my car is gone down. When a I checked mileage  of car according mention in mahindra user manual. I was shock because of the average what I am getting by my car is 10 kms to 13 kms in city and 15 to 16 kms on highway.

So I have complaint it in service centre and they ask me to come on 2/7/2017 for mileage check .

Average check test result  and details are below.

Service Centre: Sheetal Motors service centre, bopal road  , ahmedabad

Car mileage check by Mahindra associate as per company norms.

Tank : Full( before test & after test )

      Vehicle Speed: 70- 80 kmpl

      RPM : 1800 – 2100.

      Kms Driven: 63

      Diesel consumed: 3.31 ltr.

      Average: 19.03

Road: Highway(Sanathal circle, Ahmedabad to before bagodra city)

      Driver: Mr. Bhavin, Mahindra associate

Ac: AC lowest temp, & Blower speed 2.

Person in car During mileage test: 2( driver from Mahindra and me )

Luggage in car during mileage check: No.

Car stop during test: 3 to 4 times.

Although after following all company norms and direction and driven by Mahindra associate mileage is less then what they promise.

So if I want 19kmpl mileage than I have to drive only on highway and the above mentioned norm than after I will get 19kmpl mileage.

And we all know that city mileage is always 3 to 4 kmpl less than highways due to traffic. Really big disappointed and feeling cheated by Mahindra.

One of the biggest mistake of my life to choose Mahindra. And defiantly sale the car as soon as possible. As a middle class person I cannot afford 10 to 13 kmpl in city and 16 kmpl on highway.

My previous maruti wagonar petrol was  giving me more average than this Hungry diesel hulk Mahindra kuv 100 k8.  Although it was half of the shitty Mahindra kuv100.

      nothingvery less mileage

Exterior Good, But don't get flater on exterior.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Fifty-fifty, Very low quality interior used in this car. space is ok. comfort for front seaters not for back. driver seat is slightely conjusted but for female like us it is ok.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Very poor mileage, Diesal varient is giving 10km/l when they are claming 25+km/l. gears are very hard, vibration in the car. when we have drived other diesal varient but this is having some issues.

Ride Quality & Handling Secound day got brake down on middle of the road. toed by the Crane. had two worst and adventures ride on it. and still facing some new problem every second day.

Final Words Don't go for MAhindra's KUV 100

Areas of improvement Many complaints heard and read about mileage, gear box problem, vibration, ingine brake down etc. etc. nothing can be improve, if the problems are coming in a new brand vehicle.

Exterior onlyLow quality interiors, less space for back seat .

      Exterior

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort): I had my doubts before buying this car where it would be feasible to drive with the gear box on the dashboard, I had even assumed that the 5 seater may have a conventional gear box hence when I prebooked I went for the 5 seater option. However when it was launched and I took a test drive I straightaway changed the booking to the 6 seater. The car is excellent in terms of space and sitting comfort, The interior looks a little dull but material used is of good quality. To put on the seat belts are quite a task since the design is for a 6 seater. Other wise the car is made absolutely spot on from the inside.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox : Engine perfomace is super in the power mode for a guy with a little less patience driving in the city traffic. The power and pick up is absolutely amazing. While switching to the eco mode the car does give you a better mileage. The car is giving me a mileage of 20 kmpl already in the city and am sure it may improve further. Gearbox shifting to the dash board is actually very comfortable as it makes it easy to drive around.

Ride Quality & Handling : can feel less bumps on the road and the height of the car does give you a feel of driving an SUV. Handling is a bit heavy on curves other wise the car performance is pretty good.

Final Words: I am very happy and satisfied with my car and absolutely enjoy driving it around since its new, you get a lot of attention as the car makes its presence felt on the road.

Areas of improvement  : Nothing much to improve apart from the minor issues mentioned above.

      Thanks,

      Rahul

Good looks, excellent features, very spacious, comfy drivingpassenger side seating (adjustment of seat belt), No use of the extra dead pedal, no reverse sensors

Exterior Car looks huge from front and rear, Nice front and rear styling, mFALCON logo looks cool,Daytime running lights are very well placed and give a stunning look to the car. It's easy to park and drive due to it's compact length. Very practical ground clearance according to Indian driving conditions.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Interior is well finished, piano black interiors look very cool, gear position is very good which leads to smooth gear shift with a proper armrest which helps to shift gears with ease. Commendable space, no hatchback rivals (not even Swift) can compete KUV in space. Very comfortable, maybe a little less for the person sitting on the 6th(Front-Mid) seat. front under seat and rear hidden storage spaces are useful most of the times.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine is very refined, powerful, has a nice pickup and a very sensitive accelrator. Engine noise cannot be heard in the petrol variant which makes it more smoother. However, a little lag can be felt when AC is on full power.

Mileage of petrol variant is around 15 kmpl in city (first service not done yet). Gear shift is butter smooth but sometimes it gets stuck while shifting to reverse gear.

Ride Quality & Handling Ride Quality is good, car absorbs most of the shocks, ride height adds up the charm while driving. Handling is very precise and gives a good confidence while cornering, power steering is sensitive which makes it easy to amble around in city and easy to turn a wide car.

Final Words This car has very less negatives and will provide enourmous space to you and your family with a very refined engine. Prefer it above all hatches.

Areas of improvement Reverse gear shifting, fuel efficiency in petrol variant.

Refined Engine, Smooth Gear Shift,Aggressive Front,Cool Features,Enormous space, ABS and EBD std.Nothing yet.

Exterior Eye Cathing, good front & back view.

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)

Great! Not a boaring regular look, Left hand putting on a Armrest and Gear lever is really comfortable and cool. Flat floor in front and back is very useful to get out of car if there is any hurdle at driver side door ( Indians can uderstand this!). Good head room, leg space,  good thigh support in this segment.  Cooled Glove box and Hidden Storgare Spaces are useful like sunglass box, coin box, under seat space and shoe box at back. I am surprised why Mahindra dont put Vanity mirrors on sun visor ! Over all good Inerior quality and space used in car for this price.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Its good but its too early to say any thing about engine in ten days of use but pick up is good. Fuel economy is not exellent but ok as I m petrol version user. As far as gearbox is concern time will tell.

Ride Quality & Handling Fine & Smooth ride Quality, Very good supension, you will feel somehow you are driving SUV.

Final Words Geart Car ! Buy K6+ Str... true Value for money.

Areas of improvement If Mahindra had done something to extend the back 100mm to 150mm (by adding extra cost of 10000 to 20000), they could have given this car the better side view & extra sporty look and it might have also result in larger boot space.

I purchased 6Str K6+ so i got large arm rest, good driving position, spacious,Flat floor, storage plSmall boot, but can be considered in this price.

      Exterior - excellant

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) - excellant, rear seat should have been foldable fully flat

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox - Poor 12 Km / litre, Petrol - city driving, engine noise when accelrating, poor accelration in 2nd / 3rd / 4th gear, 5th gear gets stuck when changing to lower gears sometimes.

Ride Quality & Handling - great but it thuds when crossing a speedbreaker at 20 - 30 KM / hour

      Final Words

Areas of improvement   Hand brake does not work

Overall product, particularly looks and interiors are very good but there are serious manufacturing or quality concerns which needs to be addressed urgently before it becomes a serious safety concern.

      1.    Hand brake does not work at reasonable incline. The car starts moving backwards.......... which means that it is dangerous to park the car on incline, especially if you are travelling on the hills.

      2. 5th gear gets stuck sometimes when you want to change to lower gears........ this can cause accidents while driving.

3.The mileage is really low. I have driven around 900 KMs and have filled it 3 - 4 times, and consistently it is giving 12 KM / litre on AC and city driving....... what about claims of 18 KM+ / Litre. I would have bought the diesel variety if I had know that it will give such a low mileage. My 7 year old Maruti A star gives 15 Km / litre under similar conditions. Has Mahindra has given inflated fuel efficiency figures, akin to Volkswagen?

      4. The engine makes rubbing noise while accelerating.

5.The movement of the car is jerky while shifting gears. Also, the acceleration is poor in 2nd / 3rd & 4th gear.

The dealer personnel suggest that the mileage will improve post 1st servicing and the engine will also be tuned for smoothness and pick-up. I DO HOPE SO!! Let me see if handbrake and 5th gear also gets sorted out. But if it is design flaw then???

Looks & interiors. Sadly miss a CD / MP3 playerReal seats which do not fully fold flat and poor mileage of 12 KM / litre petrol city driving

Exterior - Awesome looks, the best part is that the car looks unique from the ones already available in the market and its not boxy in design, SUV looks at the size of a hatchback and price of a hatchback. This car is surely to make heads turn when driven on the roads for sure,  I had people knocking on my window at signals to ask me about the performance of the car, milage and the price.

The side cladding could have been more giving it a more better look from the side profile.  14 inch wheels look small for a car of this size.

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)

The can be some features which can be common for all variants which Mahindra has to consider, like for example the cooled glovebox, mood lighting, Sunglass holder else they should provide an option or a package which can add these features to any car variant which will surely attract more buyers

The dashboard and the layout looks different and new and definately of good quality when compared to Mahindra or Tata cars, but Mahindra surely has more competition in the hatchback segment at this pricepoint and hence needs to be better in the interior quality and plastics being used, it surely cannot match upto the interior quality of a Hyundai Grand i10 also which is priced at the same price levels.

Mirror - No Co-driver mirror in this car which is so surprising

Storage spaces - The six seater version does not have any space to keep a mobile or even a tissue box, keys etc which is a pity in such a good car.  Space given in the doors also is not enough as they are very small and can only fit in a bottle, cleaning cloth, book or goggles and nothing more in the front door while only a bottle in the back doors.

Seats – The seats and the position of the seating is comfortable but Mahindra could have designed the seats better so it gives a good look and attracts anyone at first sight and they should provide fabric seats for all versions and may be leather seating and leather wrapped steering wheel for the top end variant

Finish - Overall the quality of the dashboard, painting, carpet flooring etc are good but however there are few areas where Mahindra could focus more so that the finishing looks better as the competition for hatchbacks are too big compared to the SUV market where Mahindra is a leader always

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox

The Engine and the power is good, the gear shift is uniquely placed which helps in quickly changing the gears and is very smooth to shift quickly, the torque available starts from the 2nd Gear and surprises you as one can reach speeds up to 70kmph in the 3rd gear itself which is more than sufficient for within the city daily commuting. This diesel engine though is the first one at 1.2lt sounds silent and refined from the inside cabin and once on the move is rarely audible except at higher speeds. Compared to a VW polo Mahindra is an Indian car manufacturer primarily and has managed with a refined engine for sure though its a new one

      Ride Quality & Handling

Drivers Car - Car is very comfortable and the driver gets good confidence driving at high speeds and cornering as the vehicle does not loose the road grip even at higher speeds, the driver can truly enjoy driving this car as the clutch and gear shifts are smooth and easy

Passengers Comfort - Due to the high bench style seating position of the car, all the passengers in the car can sit comfortably in the car with good leg and under thigh support

Long Drives - Long drives are never stressful in this car though it is a hatchback due to its smooth ride

City Driving - The car is very easy to drive within the city in heavy traffic and does not require frequent change in gears, one can drive from 30 to 70 km per hr speed in third gear without any issue

Suspension – Mahindra has got the suspension settings right for this car as one can hardly feel the potholes ridden bumpy ride which is normal in India

Steering - The steering set up is actually heavy for in city commute and parking but gives more confidence with a stiff steering for long rides on the highway.  The electric steering should be better tuned to allow it to be lighter during daily commute within the city.

       Final Words

Its an awesome car for those looking to own a 6 seater at the price of a Hatchback (5 seats only) but cheaper than the Maruthi Swift with better cabin, engine performance and a better handling car with SUV looks

      Areas of improvement

Storage spaces, better and more luggage space, bigger tyre size, better finishing overall, better quality of plastics used, accessories available in the market,

Key – Wondering how a Key can be of an area of improvement? Yes it’s very poorly designed by Mahindra engineers as its extremely wide and long, no option of foldable keys also even for the top end variant which is surprising

Size – The length of the car could have been increased by 200mm and still take advantage of the tax benefits and this would have given the car a bigger boot capacity at least if not nothing else

Boot capacity – Boot capacity for a hatchback should be at least 300 liters when a small car as small as a Kwid can accommodate then why not a car of a bigger size

Breaks – The passengers would move forward when the brake is applied suddenly though it’s enabled with ABS as a standard for all models due to the high seating and suspension set up

Driver Information - Distance to empty and Average Fuel efficiency details should be a standard across all variants and should be displayed in the speed o meter and not in the entertainment unit and these must be available feature for all the variants as they are most important details for cars at this price point

      Exterior Good.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Spacious car.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox I have purchased a petrol version of car in month of April , drove the car more around 3000 KM, and I faced lot of issues till date.

      1. Sometimes on road when I try to change 5th gear to 4th gear it gets block and I need to put more force on the gear to change it , it is very risky on highway and can prone to accident.

      2. Center locking was making lot of sound in the door after using the car for 3 months and I had to replace it finally.

      3. Mileage is too bad just 10 in the city when company claims it to 18.5.

      4. My car was not starting and I kept trying multiple times to get it started and somehow it get started( damn I can't believe I have purchased a new car).

      5. Dust always come on dashboard, I have got it checked on workhop but they are not able to solve the problem.

      6. Sound started coming from the left door after I drove the car for 1100 km.

Final Words Poor Car, never suggest anyone to buy it as first security is very much important for the person on the road.

Areas of improvement Mileage, gear blocking issue, dust inside the car.

Exterior looks, spaciousVery Poor mileage, 5th gear gets block , center locking issue, car does not start sometimes
