- The five-year comprehensive warranty is being offered by Maruti Suzuki dealerships.
- The five-year warranty is free of cost.
- It is a stop-gap measure until the Maruti Vitara Brezza facelift is launched in India.
Maruti Suzuki is offering a comprehensive warranty of five years on the Vitara Brezza. However, there's a catch! This isn't a standard warranty, but a 'free five-year warranty' offer from Maruti Suzuki dealerships at no additional costs.
The Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza comes with a standard warranty of two years and 40,000 km. It also gets an extended warranty of up to five years and one lakh kilometres as an optional extra. That said, the 'free five-year warranty' could be a marketing initiative by Maruti Suzuki to counter the competition that it is facing from Hyundai Venue and the Mahindra XUV300.
Needless to say, the Vitara Brezza has been facing the heat from its rivals for the last few months. Sales of the Vitara Brezza have come down from as high as 15,000 units a month to a low of around 8,800 odd units in May and June 2019.
The comprehensive warranty offer seems to be a stop-gap measure by Maruti Suzuki to keep the Vitara Brezza relevant in its segment until the facelift comes sometime next year. A few reports also suggest that Maruti Suzuki will also offer sunroof and side airbags on the Vitara Brezza. Whether this will be added soon or comes as a part of the facelift, remains to be seen.
