The Range Rover was launched in 1970 by British Leyland. This flagship model is now in its fourth generation. History The Rover Company (originator of the Land Rover marque) was experimenting with a larger model than the Land Rover Series in 1951, when the Rover P4-based two-wheel-drive "Road Rover" project was developed by Gordon Bashford. This was shelved in 1958, and the idea lay dormant until 1966, when engineers Spen King and Bashford set to work on a new model. In 1967, the first Range Rover prototype was built (number plate SYE 157F), with the classic Range Rover shape discernible, but with a different front grille and headlight configuration. The design of the Range Rover was finalised in 1969. Twenty-six Velar engineering development vehicles were built between 1969 and 1970 and were road registered with the number plates YVB151H through to YVB177H. Though being chassis no. 3, the vehicle YVB 153H is believed to have been the first off the production line as a vehicle in that colour was urgently required for marketing. The Velar name was derived from the Italian "velare" meaning to veil or to cover. Range Rover development engineer Geof Miller used the name as a decoy for registering pre-production Range Rovers. The Velar company was registered in London and produced 40 pre-production vehicles that were built between 1967 and 1970. Most of these Velar pre-production vehicles are accounted for and have survived into preservation.

My experience for thisPremium SUV by range rover is really great ,Its features are awesome and th convenience e diesel version is also less polluting with its 2.0 ltr engine which is not so much but Performance is amazing a great pickup Which is one of the things I like the most.The various control features for comfort amd are really great too with the safety features.Buying experience was alsogood but it took a little time to get it.Its my first range rover and its really very great,Its sound system suspensions transmission amd all but I dont find it very convenient at its various settings,U again and again have to use ur hands while driving otherwise connect to ur phone.I think their should has been a good Voice assistant based on ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE to be created by Land Rover.But except this My overall experience is amazing. It is very best car. I driven it once it once and it gave a very best performance at a rough road and at that time I liked it very much. Arguably the definitive big, luxury SUV. Frequently imitated, but rarely bettered or even equalled, the Range Rover has been around since the early Seventies. And even though that means it’s only a couple years shy of its fiftieth birthday, the Rangie is still only in its fourth generation. Admittedly the fact the first-gen (later known as the ‘Classic’) lasted for more than two decades skews that figure a bit. But still…

I drive it for hundreds km. Best experience than any other vehicles. Best in speed and facilities. Interior is comfortable and attractive. Sensors are the best ever. Engine is more powerful in sport mode. Back space is enough. I like the body structure of model 2010 than today's. I will buy it soon.

It's got everything that you wish in a suv Great features and great design . Its an unstoppable cute beast , the features more than the 7 generation bmw but you can't compare it to bmw .they have their own level , the environment friendly tech is amazing an the unlocking system without key is a blessing . lovely suv
