Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox

I have driven my new i20 for only 600 km. Initially I was quite frustrated with the knocking of the engine at slow speed when on second gear. That is when I got a good piece of advice to change the air filter to K&N. Please, I am not advertising for that brand or anything, but it has made a huge difference in the performance of the car. Car literally flies.

I have not checked the fuel economy, so no comments on that.

I dont know if there is any drawback for the K&N filter. If there are any, please let me know of it. My logic is that if it is making such a big difference in the performance, why don't the car companies install them in the new cars....
