Got my i20 Sportz (O) delivered on 31st May 2010.
Exterior: It surely is the best looking car in the segment. Hyundai has really done great styling to it. I got a Crystal White i20 and it looks amazing. Can locate it from a distance as it glows amongst the rest.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort): Got almost all features in Sportz (O) expect for alloy wheels, driver seat height adjuster, fog lamps, ABS and airbags (though did get driver airbag). the electronic ORVM is amazing and the AC & music system are fabulous.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox: It is a bit slow to pickup in the 2nd gear, however after that the ride is great. The gear handling is so much more smoother than the Swift. Can't comment on the fuel economy as still driving on the 1st full tank of petrol.
Ride Quality & Handling: Car handling is comfortable. Havent tried it beyong 80kmph but looks like that the handling would change for the worse. This is my first car and i have driven Swift before. i20 is way ahead of it both in terms of ride quality and handling. The relatively lower ground clearnace does give it a nice handling.
Final Words: I wouldn't recommend any other car in this particular segment. Fiat Punto, Maruti Swift, Ford Figo doesnt it come near to it. Havent tried the VW Polo, but that also does not compare in terms of looks or VFM. My wife and myself are proud to own the "Uber Cool" i20.
Great looks, lots of features, ample space, Keyless entry.Slow pickup in 2nd gear, can't think of anything else!Exterior/Styles

Exterior The car is a a very good looker. It is designed in Germany and was designed by Thomas Bürkle a guy who worked for BMW. The attributes are good has a wide stance. The body is full of curves compared to other cars in its catogory. The one important thing is the curve at the mid of the hood. This is awesome. I like the color metallic dark grey which looks cool with the chrome finishing.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) The interior is bigger brighter and comfortable for five people. The leg room in the back seed is best in class. Its a allround family car comfortably transport 5 people.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox The disel engine is made in Korea and assembled in Chennai, India. It is very refined in ters of performance and reliabilty. It has a new 6 spped gear box first in class (european style gear shift).
Ride Quality & Handling It has a remapped motorised power steering, veyy accurate and simple to drive in city or in highway. The ride quality is supple and soft, Superb on a highway. The broad wheels makes the ride possible. It comes with Anti- locking breakes(ABS) so very good break efficiency which is coupled with Electronic break force distribution(EBD) so its very safe to dive on a rain soaked slippery road (monsoon times). It is well built so you dont feel anything when you are cruzing at 120 kmph and there is another bus coming on the opposite you won't feel a thing inside the cabin its is stable. Very reliable and a matured looker.
Final Words bit costly but you get quality product which is reliable and you will definately appreciate it every day. So if you are looking for a premium hatchback look no further.

My personal experience with i20 vehicle. May be many others have faced similar problems.
From the time I have taken the new i-20 (Aug-2011) I have been facing issues one after the other and now I am tired with it. Two out of three problems I faced seems to be due to the poor designing of the vehicle and the third one not sure what I should call either it is the poor quality of the engine or a faulty engine was used in a new car.
Problem 1: ECM failed. I have given my car for the water servicing and half a kilometer I drove from the service station the car stopped and it took one and a half month for the car to run again. The reason I was told is that the water has gone inside the ECM and there is a short circuit. By the way I was told that ECM is one of the costliest component in the car which controls every thing. I have been washing my santro xing, ford and i-10 almost every week then what is so special about i-20? I don't know how can a engineer design some thing which is very costly and just throw it open with out a casing. Had it been there a good casing I think the problem wouldn't have been occurred.
Problem 2: Petrol pipe leakage. Our Indian roads are bumpy and it is minimum expected that the base of the car should be strong enough to protect from these bumpy roads and atleast delicate things are covered properly. The base of my i-20 car was hit and the petrol started leaking. The petrol pipe which costs 300 rs took again 45 days to reach the service station and again got my vehicle after 45 days.
Problem 3: All of a sudden my car's engine started sounding like a diesel engine. When I took the vehicle to the service station I was told that they wanted to investigate the engine and they have sent the details to the Hyundai's office in Pune. After a week I got a response that they will check by changing the pistons etc in the engine. The parts reached the service station in 10 days and the vehicle was delivered altogether in 23 days. I was very happy to see my cars engine is so soft but my happiness didn't lost for long. With in three weeks it again started sounding like a truck and this time the pickup has gone down drastically, The steep road which Maruti 800 can easily cross over with all four members seated in it has become the most difficult task for my i-20. Its almost dead. I came to know that this is the third i-20 vehicle in the Talwar Hyundai service station which had the same problem and the only solution was engine replacement. Engine replacement with in 18 months of purchase is really disgusting. Is there any fault with the i20 engines design? I don't know atleast I feel there is from my experience. I am already afraid that life time of my i20 engine may reduce because of the replaced accessories. As the problem has again resurrected I am hoping this time at least Hyundai will do a good job by replacing a brand new good engine with the faulty engine rather than doing some more research by replacing other parts of the engine.
By the way I had a great confidence on Hyundai because of which I owned three vehicles and with this vehicle I have completely lost the trust and hope on Hyundai. I have promised myself and my family members that my next vehicle will not be from Hyundai family and will suggest my friends also the same. Hoping Hyundai management will provide good service to the customers and test the engine and vehicle thoroughly before launching to the market rather than loosing the trust in this way.

This review is completely unbiased, and my observations r only trasformed in this review..
1.Good interiors with good plastics.(obviously coz this is pricey)
2.Good boot space.
3.Great features,good looks.
Cons:Lacks in offering passenger comfort(swift is better in this department).Being so pricey how hyndai ingnored this.
2.Feels like the i-10 drive when i t-drived it.The pep is not felt as in swift.
3.Overall the car is good but not worth the price, only features will not make it luxury car.The comfort to passengers, peppy engine performance all put topgether is luxury.
Eg: Fabia,it offers great passenger comfort, features, good petrol engine, brand image of Skoda(india though),Finest built finish Etc.
Hyundai should improve in the above areas,Only high pricing does't make a car a luxury car.
great features, good interiors, good boot space.rear seat comfort,no performance engine, road presence similar to swift,

i bought the asta version last month and i have clocked 1200 km. the car gives a real good mileage (14.6km/l) and that too even before its first service! the interiors are extremely nice, better than fiesta, verna, sx4,swift. The console looks even nicer at night. the handling is superb, with nice suspension. u cant just feel the road. best part is the electric foldable mirrors, large cool glove box and FATC. music system is of excelent quality. interior space is good enough for 5. boot space is large. braking is excellent with the ABS and EBD. engine and the cabin are noise free.
only cons are that, the person sitting behind can open the door even with central lock on,so child lock has to be there always.
however i am really happy that i bought this car, no regrets for not buying a sedan. if u want a good car with all the features go for it. dont just buy any sedan for the sake of just showing off a large car.
good mileage,styling,interiorsnothing

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox
overall engine performance is awesome but BHP should atlest increase from 79 to 86 for better pickup no noise in the engine very economic car gives me mileage of 11.5km/lit and highway 17kn/lit no probs with the gearbox switches like butter but im expericing a problem in the suspension and shockups of this car i have driven 12500kms when my car bumps in a pothole it creates loud noise thereby loosing the suspensions as the mechanism is same as swift i dnt get what is the prob is loosens on its own please correct this

Finally I got the delivery of I20 Magna (Petrol) Color Crystal White on January 13, 2010. And after paying Rs 11,000 to RTO got the number of my choice i.e. 4444. I have selected this car over Swift Vxi, Punto Active and Aveo UVA. As I wanted a Car which looks different from the crowd and also VFM, me and my family finally decided to go for I20 after couple of Test Drives. I have driven this car about 400 kms and here I laydown my point of view regarding this car :
1. Looks, Design, Exteriors : No doubt it is amongst the best in this segment in looks and exteriors. Hyundai has fully used the 4000 mm bracket for tax saving benefits and keeping down the price (but still it is costly). It looks a big hatchback with smart curves and designers have applied a lots of mind in designing this car. There are not many I20s on the road but surely they are head turner.
2. Interiors : Every thing inside the cabin seems well positioned. First of all it gives a look of truly luxurious car with lots of space in driver's section. Tilt and adjustable steering and driving seat gives extra facility to driver of any height for optimum comfort. Front screen monitor showing the outside temperature, trip meter (km/mile), clock and date, all 4 power windows etc., gives it a comfy look. Inbuilt MP3 player produces very good quality music. EPS is really so smooth and speaks itself that what a power steering should be. There is slightly less space in rear seats when driver adjusts the seat, but it is not a big issue, rear seats are comfortable enough. USB port is missing in this variant and company should think about this.
3. Performance : Lots of things have been said about its performance like it is underpowered, sluggish, slow in pickup, highway driving is not good. But my experience is that any one who go for this car knows that it is equipped with 1200 cc engine and knows its limitation. So I was also well aware about this fact that same engine is fitted in I10, then how will it give the optimum performance. But my confusion was cleared when I first time had a test drive of this car. There is nothing under power issue if you drive in the appropriate gear and pick is really too good in first gear considering the 1200cc engine, and they you can change the gears accordingly to the speed. But it is not possible to drive the car at the speed of 20 at forth gear. Engine is well refined and truly noise free. In the cabin, with all the windows closed, you can hardly hear any sound. Only on rough and uneven roads, some humming sound comes from the tires, which is a normal thing for all cars. On highways, you can easily go upto the speed of 100 with good stability and control. Over 100, EPS stops working and seems that engine is doing extra effort to pull the car. And at the speed over 120, overtaking is bit annoying, so better to change gear before overtaking at this speed.
4. Conclusion : It is a car for the people who don’t want to follow the crowd. Though highly priced, but looking to features, size, space and comfort, it is worth paying the extra cost. In the cost of this car, you can easily get a sedan but not the luxurious feeling. Also the sales show that people are really going for this car. I am fully satisfied with this car and highly recommend this car to the people of same thinking.

I was eagerly awaiting release of this car in Mumbai. Now that it has happened, it is too pricey. I have a Getz which is a wonderful car, but then we need upgraded technology and better mileage. Perhaps we have it in i20. But pricing is steep and there are viable options in the market>Too bad !!
Why does Hyundai price itself out? I like Hyundai for their smoothnes and technology. Too expensive
