Exterior I love exterior of new i20.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Lovely interiors.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Good engine performance, very poor fuel economy in petrol, smooth gearbox.
Ride Quality & Handling Very good except performance of suspensions.
Final Words Good deal if you are buying new one as suspension will work good and ready to bear the more expences on fuel.
Areas of improvement Hyundai should improve their Customer care service and redress of grievances, attitude of dealership people should be cross checked from the customer, if thinking to compete with Maruti in service. Dealership should be fine for the mistake as happened in my case. Dealership had damaged my vehicle in first service and refused to accept their mistake. I lodged complaint with HMIL. I was alloted complaint number but did not get single call from HMIL regarding repairs of my vehicle which was not expected from a good name like Hyundai.

Interior features are good, but the top cover used for dikky with cheap material and also looks shabby. One need to do circus on same once dikky opened!!
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox
Engine performance is excellent, but fuel economy is poor with respec to the money spent and compairing other brands. Gear box functioning also looks good

Ride quality is good
Final Words
According to me, the car is not satisfactory except engine and body. Had problem with suspension, shok up and AC in below 5000 kms itself.
It costs me more and also wasted lots of my valuable time.
Though pick up drop offered by service centres, it hardly provided. My car gives only 10-12 kms in city and below 15 in long drive (of course i drive faster and its difficult to maintain the speed limit under 80!!). Undertand still bigger cars of other make gives more than 20 kms and based on this car's size and cost mileage should be more than 25 kms.
Areas of improvement
pick up and wear and tear (parts are too costly) and service centres are charging very high!!
Engine performanceCostly parts, car started giving problem below 5000 kms.

Hyundai i20 is the best car in the segment. but still swift is bought because it has a lighter engine which has a brilliant pick up which is very much uncommon in diesel cars. diesel engines should be a little surpressed which makes it long lasting and compact. cars like swift finish within 3 or 4 years.
Now comparing betwwen i20 and swift. i20 is 70000 more expensive than swift but the features it has are uncountable. features which i20 has and swift does not are keyless start, keyless entry, automatic headlamps, rain sensing wipers, driver armrest, digital speedometer, retractable ORVMS , 100 litres larger boot space, more powerful engine than swift, cooled glove box.
For getting such features if you have to pay 70000 is very less than its worth there is not even a single thing that this car is short of. a perfect package of engine with features and even more spacious than swift. then why swift.

I bought the I-20 Era (Petrol) in Hyderabad nearly 5 months back. Have driven around 2000 km+. I use it for commuting to office and family car (run errands for the house, visiting nearby places etc). My observations below-
- Very spacious car-ideal family hatch. I have test driven Swift (truly a segment below I-20) and Polo, the amount of space in I-20 beats all of them hands down. With the front seat fully pushed out, a 5-10 individual can seat comfortably behind.
- Excellent road manners- Goes well over potholes, swallows small road im-perfections and speedbreakers well. However, the Ground clearance, although enough could have been better.
- Powerful AC: Beats Hyderabad summer heat comfortably.
- Boot space-Packs in 2 large suitcases easily. Large meaning 32 inch suitcases
- Quality of Interiors: Fantastic. beats the competition hollow. However, the Polo has better built interiors.
- Comfortable driving position
-Mileage: I get 11 Kmpl (in city) with AC and 16 kmpl (on highway) with AC. Lately (Oct/Nov), without AC, i am getting 12 kmpl mileage for in-city driving. Please note mileage will depend on how aggresively you drive and the load in the car (driving single or with family), petrol used (I use Shell) etc.
Now for the cons
- Lack of power: In the first and second gear, outright power is missing, so less straightline acceleration. Pick-up has improved after first service, but i still feel that outright Pick-up is less at below 1000 rpm.
- Suspension: Make no mistake, the power steering is great. It is just that there is no feel, you can turn the steering with a finger. I have to be very careful in highways at speeds greater than 80kms.
- Suspension: Makes a sound over a road reflector which percolates to cabin. However, does not feel so noisy over bad roads/potholes. So, I am not sure over this con.
Also, this is a segment over Swift, I say this considering space, car experience and ride quality. Its true competition is Polo & Punto.
All in all, would I buy this car again? Yes, if i am looking for a family car. For a driver's car-No. But then these are family cars. So highly recommended.

SPORTZ 1.4L AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION (AT) BSIV
THIS HONEST REVIEW ALONE I GUESS, SHOULD SUM IT ALL FOR ANY NEW BUYER OF THIS VERSION.
Exterior
The car has been designed really well with the exterior looks riding on Hyundai's new german-Fluidic Design concept. The design has been well competitively designed to meet the new generation's expectations of styling. The newly designed headlamps, day-time-white-lights in the front, add to the elegance of the car . The head lamps look more aggressive and filled with life.
Unfortunately, rear wipers are missing for the price while present for Asta model (which has no AT to opt else would have).
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)
Amazing! The interiors are well designed with dual tone colors, steering with leather wrapped, Automatic-Tranmission stick (alone costing about ~1.5lacs extra in place of stick drive) is elegantly designed to give it a posh interior look. The seats are quite comfortable and the driving column is a feast for the eye with blue luminance. Hoped there was vertical adjustment to driver's seat for the car's cost of 9.22 lacs(on-road price + insurance + Seat covers+ floor mats + reverse beeper totally 9.85lacks as of March 7th-2013) I paid 😇. The cabin is very spacious and absolutely quiet while the car is moving. Rear-view camera and parking sensors are very resourceful for me while parking in constrained spaces. Glove-box-coller is awesome. Boot is considerably big for a family of 4 like ours. AC is reasonable good. Music system, bluetooth & controls over steering are quite good. Rain-sensing wipers are awesome too. All other features usually with any others are part & parcel though are fine. My rating is 5 on 5 for features.
Unfortunately, average-mileage-clock would have been helpful (smartly HMIL concealed their mileage issue eliminating this totally of their list of features it seems). Plus,USB port doesn't work with all pen drives, not sure why.😦
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox
The new turbo charged engines are really powerful. There is a turbo lag below 1500 rpm exactly when needed to overtake though it is 1.4L (specifically opted for this reason) instead of regular 1.2L😱. Agree that the newly designed engine has reduced the turbo lag to a decent extent compared to other cars in the market which have the lag upto 2000 rpm. The fuel economy ranges from 10 to 13.5 kmpl(10 in city conditions and 13 - 13.5 on highway) and of-course understandably, depends on how you drive & conditions in which you drive. Overall a perfect suit for ladies driving in cities as well (one of the reasons I opted this version). Gear box is buttery smooth and need not worry changing gears especially within Hyderabad-traffic conditions😱.
Ride Quality & Handling
The ride quality is solid & stable. The suspension seems soft but has improved way beyond the one of the previous verstion. Handling is also worth mentioning. Turning at corners at high speeds at a curve feels very safe with the new steering brakes assisted with front disc brakes coupled with ABS and EBD.
Final Words
My view in conclusion...The best car of this segment in current Indian market though Maruti-Suzuki Swift was equally weighed in most aspects but eventually went for this. Though price is on the higher side (by about 50K in my view). Its worth considering it even when you compare it with other so called sedan cars in the price range because Hyundai i20 has got much better feel, luxury, comfort and optimum space. I hope I summed them all.
Areas of improvement
Pricing, Turbo lag & ground clearance to be the unbeatable & best in the market, within this segment.
Driving Comfort, Styling & Elegance, Passenger Comfort, Feature-richHigh Price, Jerky Turbo Lag <1500 rpm (though 1.4L) USB port for music, Less Ground Clearance

Exterior No comments on exteriors, Company has done very good Job.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Same for Interiors, but one recommendation is to increase seats height, it always good for 6 feet people, but most of them are not.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine performance excellent, poor mileage, in city 8 KMPL, on highway 16KMPL. it sucks your blood Boss.
Ride Quality & Handling Very smooth, some where I feel discomfort in operating clutch with my legs. It give air noise when u drive on highway like diesl engine. Becuas eof width. Whcih I don't like. .I sold my TATA Indica which 5 yrs old( bought in 2007), still i feel it was excellent.
Final Words If you want mileage, Forget I 20.
Areas of improvement Better mileage in City dual biege colours change hope 2012 model gives that, mine is 2011 model bought in Jan,2012, any speed breaker, u need to go slow, and because of width, u feel discomfort in hapzard roads or zig zag roads, It looks awaesome.

Exterior Sexy design. No comparison at all in dat segment.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Undoubtedly a car with a class.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Gud performance..but low fuel economy in petrol.
Ride Quality & Handling Superb ride quality and fantastic handelling...gud kerb weight helps driving it more comfortably.
Final Words Undoubtedly an excellent car with all advanced features.
Areas of improvement Only fuel economy in petrol. Nothing to say for diesel variants. A beautiful looking car with all features and gud and spacious interiors. Go for it if there is no issue of budget of around 6-7 lacs! Overall a good car and the name of hyundai is not questionable. The car has a gud air conditioner with heater. And an a/c vent in the glove box rather say as a small fridge which can keep drinks very cool and handy a really very good boot space and a very good dealer with friendly sales person make the deal very buy-able. with a space of 5 cup and bottle holders makes no issue of space in the car. Go and buy it today!

Exterior Exterior is typically Korean, which, may not be outstanding, but certainly looks good and gives a big, broad car from outside.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Interiors are well sorted out, with nice innova like ac vents and climate control, a boon. plastic quality is good and fit and finish are perfect. Glove box is huge with ac vent provided inside. Space is in plenty for the taking, the best in hatchback segment, leaving the jazz. Seats are comfortable enough, while a little more treatment in the rear seats would be accepted. sportz is loaded with features like FATC, steering mounted audio controls, mp3 player with usb and aux, leather wrap on steering and gear knob, 6speed intermittent wiper.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine is revving happily, while some sound creeps into the cabin, it has a typical innova like sound sittting in the cabin. There is some amount of turbo lag. Rev the pot to 1800 rpm and you are altogether in a different planet. The turbo kicks in to give a gush of power to an extent would seem uncontrollable. The car as new is tuned not to get that gush of power, so as it comes in subsequent services, we would be good enough to take that power. Fuel economy is 19 in highways with full time AC at 20degrees. Gearbox is slick but still rubbery. It is not as slick as in a swift or polo. That is jus a matter of getting used to. Clutch is a bit too long and finding the right position in the driver's seat could take some time. Dashboard may hinder the movement of left leg while applying clutch but can be rectified by pushing back seat one step. Overall good deal as far as engine, gearbox and economy.
Ride Quality & Handling Ride quality could be a deal breaker for some. Handling is exceptional in city limits due to light steering, while it is ok in the highways, where some sites say handling in i20 is poor, i totally disagree. It is not as good as in polo or swift, but still does a gives you enough confidence taking corners. Ride is pretty much unsettled with every small pot hole getting transmitted into the cabin. Ground clearance might be a worry in the first look, but believe me, its sufficient with 5 on-board and enough luggage to go past the biggest speed-breaker without scrapping.
Final Words Overall a good package with plenty of features on offer. Certainly the best in feature list and a good engine, making it tempting.
Areas of improvement Ride quality has to be improved drastically.

This is the first europeon style car hyundai has launced in india. The back of the car looks simply amazing. The lights are very eye catching and from behind it does have that class.
Sitting inside the dashboard is simple amazing; it does not looks like those cheap plastic materials found in other cars that looses its shine; the legroom space is quite good for the driver and taking the fact that it is a hatchback the space for 4 ppl is as good as that of a sedan.
It is definetly worth the buy and the brand name makes it even more reliable.
Cheers!
