The hyundai i10

Exterior

 The looks of i10 is just perfect for me. It is more than stylish without being too sporty / flashy. In terms of looks it is way ahead of its immediate competitor the Wagon R.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)

 The interors are impressive. Plastic quality used is of fine quality. Interors give a posh feeling with its tall boy design able to accomodate 5 adults comfortably for a long ride. It ensures that people with back problems do not have to lean much to get inside the car like they have to in a car like the maruti esteem.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox

 This car is meant for city and highway drives alike and although capable of getting to a break neck speed, from safety standpoint on city roads and highways 80 km/litre shoulld be as smooth a ride as can be ensured in tis 1Tonne car. The accelerator takes a while to respond, but once it does it gives just the amount of power you need. Good thing about this car is the speed overlap in gear 2-5. I have driven at 35km in 5th gear without stalling the engine and as high as 50 kms in second gear without increasing the revolutions to a dangerous number. This ensures you get the power to overtake without having to shift gears. The gear box is pretty smooth and its a pleasure to drive.

 Mostly city drives and occasional highway drives encompassing 1000 km gave me an average mileage of 13km/litre with intermittent air conditioning. I can live with that :)

Ride Quality & Handling

 The ride quality, is above average considering its a small hatchback and a light car. The steering wheel is very comfortable to handle. Don't expect it to produce as much power as a volkswagen, but in terms of driving comfort it is way up there with the very best.

Final Words

 It has been a very good car for me so far. The quality of plastic of the interiors and the bumpers are very good indeed. Exteriors complement the great interiors and the tall-boy compact design is very appealing indeed. The amount of space provided with such a tiny hatchback is magical. If you are not bothered about mileage and is concerned about how compact your car is going to be for ease of parking and city drive, i10 is one of the best bets you can go with.

Areas of improvement  

 Rear defogger / wiper is missing even with the highest variant of 1.1 l irde model. Many will not like the lag of response of the accelerator pedal. 

 

Looks are perfect for my liking (not too sporty not too dull), driving comfort, space managementfuel economy could be better, rear wiper/defogger should be provided
