3.0 Exterior | 2.0 Comfort | 3.0 Performance |
1.0 Fuel Economy | 1.0 Value for Money |
Exterior Good exterior styling, especially when seen from the front. The rear is flat and not very appealing, like the old Santro model when it was first introduced around the year 2000.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) The features on the dashboard are good and the Next Gen i10 was probably the first car in this segment to include them. But interiors feel cramped, and there is not much leg room.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine performance is reasonably good, with an excellent pickup. But fuel economy is terrible, I get only 11 km/litre against the specified figure of 20+. Changing gears is okay, but not particularly smooth.
Ride Quality & Handling Handling is reasonably good. But ride quality is nothing to write home about, and is positively uncomfortable when riding on a rough or potholed road.
Final Words My old 2002 Maruti Zen was probably better in the areas of fuel economy, shifting gears, ride comfort and overall driving comfort and external visibility.
Areas of improvement Fuel economy and interior space. Adding a couple of inches to the length of the passenger compartment would be really good. The suspension and ride comfort should be improved. Inflating the spare wheel (periodically) should be possible without removing the tool kit and flipping the wheel over (at present it is a nightmare).
