When i saw the i10 first in November,i had mixed feelings. This is is not a car that you fall in love with at the first sight. It is like those good things in life that kind of grow on you.
The front view looks good.It does not look puny & does not have a stupid grille. The wide black air dam & fog lamps make it look posh & the swept back lamps add to its good looks.
The side profile looks good in the Magna.Hyundai should have provided alloys here, they would have elevated the side profile to a different level .Believe me when i say so as i have added alloys to mine.
The rear view mirrors are wide & give you a good view.
However the designers lost their inspiration by the time they got to the rear. You would have expected the rear to have more character. The tail lamps too do not do anything great to the rear.
Seating position is good .The seats in the front & rear offer good thigh & back support,The mystery is why did Hyundai not keep adjustable headrests in the front.
Another,in the line of surprises is that the boot cannot be released internally.Boot space is adequate for small trips for a small family.
Good engine ideal for city drives, this car does not pretend to be a highway runner. This vehicle surprises you with its maneuverability.Steering response is on target & the car behaves just as you want it to.
Stiff suspension ideal for city but not the highways & the vehicle needs larger tyres.Mine has Bridgestone R13 tubeless.
Surprisingly good music system with good speakers for a factory fitted system.Good AC.
The car is solid in feel. The dash has a vast & uncluttered look & the positioning of the gear stalk frees up alot of space. The gearshift itself is smooth. However Hyundai should have provided a dead pedal for the driver to rest his feet.
WHAT DOES IT LACK THEN?Guess a larger capacity petrol doing 70-75 bhp & a crde diesel doing 90.Now that would have people worried.
oh & one more thing.Mine is champagne gold in colour .Has 825 kms on the odo & does 12 kpl in Calcutta.
seats 5 persons comfortably, steering, light & interiors, good city carThe magna version should have alloys as standard, uninspired rear, fatter tyres

I have just taken delivery of i10 magna sunroof.. it will take time to write a detailed review...
but one gross manufacturing blunder i came across is this:
The Parking Light lever on the right hand side of the stearing wheel has three positions:
1.OFF position
2. Parking ON
3. Headlight ON.
This is also mentioned in the operation manual (Page 6/42)
but actually parking lights are turned OFF when the lever is in parking light position (position 2) and the parking lights are turned ON when the lever is in OFF position..(position 1). :-(
when i asked the sales person about it after taking the delivery he said its a manufacturing blunder...
other owners please give me feedback on this ..

i was a regular customer of maruti with whom i was dealing since many years. when i was planning a new car my obvious choice was from maruti. but when i saw i 10, i was ready to deal with a new company.
but i am sorry to state that it was a horrible experience. now i realize why does maruti always top in customer satisfaction.
the dealer at rajpura(punjab) lied at every step. never take any of the words of hyundai people 4 granted. they can lie at ur face without feeling ashamed of it.

I bought an I10 in June 2008. Ever since I bought my I10, I have been having problems with it. Changing gear from second to first is very very hard. The service people have taken the car for servicing more than a few times to fix this problem unsuccessfully. Three weeks back I met with an accident wherein a lady hit my car headon overtaking another vehicle. I saw the car and braked and my car had come to a complete stop when the other car hit me. The other car must have been traveling around 15-20km/hr. I had a damage worth 58K rupees. However my biggest issue was the airbag never deployed even though there was a major impact (I had to get my radiator, condensor and fan replaced) and a head on collision. However the sensor which was supposed to help trigger the airbags broke and I had to shell out 12K rupees (50% had to be borne by the insurance) total cost of the sensor is 23K rupees. I spoke to the Hyundai area manager (South) and he gave me the technical jargon that the car has to be hit at a particular angle and has to be decelerating at a particular speed etc etc for the airbag to deploy (remember my car had come to a complete stop). To me it did not make any sense. Then he started quoting the international certification they have got for the airbags. I was comparing I10 and Maruti Swift and the only reason I went in was due to the airbags in I10. Now I think I made the wrong decision. You be the judge on whether the airbag in I10 is useful.

Exterior The exteriors are the best in its segment. No other car matches it. When I bought the car in Nov, 2009 It was like love at first sight. The head lights, mirrors, etc are too good.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) I was looking for spacious interior in this segment and i10 sportz 1.2 kappa has rally fulfilled it. The seats are comfortable and the steering is easy to handle. The location of gear handle is such that it becomes easy to operate with least effort. The music system is good andoverall the fully loaded version is value for money.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox I bought my i10 in nov'09 and uptill now I have not faced any problem with my car. Not even one I had to open the bonnet. If timely and regular service id done (As per company manual) then I dont think this car will have any problem. The pick-up is good, power steering is comfortable and maneuvering is easy. With A/c I am getting a fuel economy of 14-15 kmpl and with out A/c around 16-17 kmpl.
Ride Quality & Handling As I mentioned earlier, the car is very comfortable and easy to maneuver. It is made for city driving i.e even in heavy traffic you will feel easy to drive. When it highway, you wont feel that you are driving. It just glides on the highway. Too good to explain my Express highway experience. 5/5.
Final Words Any body who is planing to buy a car in 5-6 L budget should go for i10 sportz version. It is fully loaded with power windows, power steering, music system hence looking at broader picture, it is really value for money. If you insist and have power to convince your dealer then you may also get some free-bees like mats, seat covers etc. One more advise always purchase company made seat covers and Car cover. They fit well and look good.
Areas of improvement None as of now.

Exterior Exterior are good.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Boot space is gud as 3 person in back seat can seat comfortably. A new feature is introduced like if you run the on high speed with low gear it show in display that what gear to be used with this RPM.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine performance is gud. I drove this car up to 200 km and right now I m getting the fuel evereage in between 15-16(AC not used) in city traffic condition( Ghaziabad to delhi).
Ride Quality & Handling Handling this car is superb. gear shift and EPS(Electronic power steering) is very comfrtable.
Final Words I very nice car. I purchased era irde2 2 days back and enjoing the driving. Cabin is very silent as if you push the car speed upto 100km/h you will get only sound from the tyres only :).
Areas of improvement Nothing much overall a gud car. Plastic used in the car is of good quality.

I bought i10Era from Harsh Hyundai Indore . I am having the pickup issue so that visit the harsh Hyundai service canter
The technician tells me that the pickup issue is due to catalytic converter so that need to be replaced.
My car war running only 8000KM, How come it stops working so soon? Technician say that this kind of issue is rarely and catalytic converter choke because of quality of fuel,
My question is only that if this kind of issue is rarely and issue because of quality of fuel then why other vehicle not having this kind of issue?.
Did I make any mistake to buy this i10Era? I am too frustrated as they said this won’t be covered in warranty and charge for this issue would be approximate Rs.22, 000 .

I am planning to buy a car and had test driven i10. The drive was quite comfortable,
Pros
a) very good power steering
b) cool interiors
c) smooth gear shift
d) powerful AC
Cons
a) I found the pickup to be very moderate with AC on
I want to book it but have a major concern, I read that there are no crash impact beams (side or front) in i10.
Doesn't it make this car very vulnerable and if it is a flaw, How could it be rated Car of the Year
Or there is some superior mechanism.
I have searched a lot in the web regarding safety issues for i10, but could not get much info.
On the other hand, there is a good info on Safety aspects of Santro Xing which includes
a) dual member side impact protection
b) Crumple zone to absorb frontal impact
c) Ultra high strength steel members built onto doors
d) Collapsible steering colum
There is a EuroNCAP safety certification for i30 and Getz, but not for i10. This makes me more concerened

With city traffic getting crazier each day, we thought it would be nice to get small car with an auto box. There is not much to choose from in the AT segment if you don't want the Santro or the WagonR. I recall the Santro's auto box to be really crappy. That's the expectation I went with when Continental Hyundai got the car to us for a test drive. Boy was I wrong. This box is superb, the car feels potent from the word go and it's not like I stepped on the pedal.
The car has good road manners, not much body roll and handles well. The steering seems a tad light and could perhaps do with a little bit of more feedback. The braking is top notch. Acceleration is nice and the down shift when you hit the gas is not jerky like the older auto boxes. Wider tyres could perhaps be made standard.
Rear seating is comfortable for short rides. There is no practical use of the boot. A few shopping bags is perhaps all it can be used for effectively.
We drove the car in about 35 Deg of afternoon heat and I was surprised with the air-conditioning. It was doing a great job. 4 people, no tints and it was cooling very nicely.
As per my analysis, resale would also be good and comparable to that of the levels of the Santro. An addition of some better colour options would be nice. Currently most colours on offer are ghastly.
I'd say a good buy as a 1st city car, or a second car used mainly in the city in traffic.
