I bought my grand i10 diesel four years ago. Since then I have clocked more than 50k kms. My experience with it has been more than pleasant. I have divided my entire experience so far in pros and cons.
Pros. 1. The ride quality is good. It has sufficient power for city driving.
2. It is best in class as far as the leg room is concerned. 5 people can fit easily into it.
3. Looks good and has good number of features for your comfort inside the car. The fit and finish of each part is perfect.
4. Despite being a diesel engine the noise inside the cabin is very less. Thanks to good firewall insulation.
5. The quality of plastic used inside the cabin is very high. It has been four years and it still looks as good as new.
6. Dual colour interiors are designed ideally. It makes the car look very roomy and bright.
Cons - 1. The AC of Hyundai cars. After 2-3 years cooling coil will leak. It will cost you around 10k to get this done from service centre. After visiting some mechanics I was told this happens with almost all Hyundai cars. ( Happened with my Xcent also).
2. The mileage is less as compared to some Maruti Suzuki cars or as claimed by Hyundai.
3. Brakes in the car are not optimised for lower speeds. Around 10-30 km/hr. When I complained at Hyundai service centre I was told it is with every car as they have fit brakes for a bigger car into this. ( Lame reply as they always give).
4. Air filter assembly is quite weak. I had to get it replaced after 30k kms. ( Costs around 2.5k).
5. Keyless entry on driver's handle also stopped working after 35k kms.
