    DRIVING:
    Few thousand kilometers
in 2016 Needed a car as my second car which was within a budget of 5L. Happened to test drive most of the cars. Test drove lots of cars which included WagonR; Ritz; i20; Kwid; Brio; swift; Grand i10; RediGo; etc. Found the engine of Grand i10 to be really silent. (Even the i20 which shares the same engine) But since i already own a Polo; Did not want to invest on an i20 which was again on a low stance like the polo. Also the length of the i20 was pretty much the same of that of Polo. Hence needed a bit smaller one. WagonR engine was not as smooth as that of Grand i10. Remaining were anyways out of the list. Brio Did not qualify for my driving comfort. WaGonR was rather not as spacious and comfortable. Swift (2016 version) was already looking dull & boring. Engine of the swift was well refined though. Kwid & redigo was a definite NO after a quick test drive. Somehow during that period of time; Came across a pre owned Grand i10 Asta Petrol 1.2 VTVT KAPPA (1 & half years old at the time of purchase) with just 6k kms on the odo. Condition was literally like new. The owner however was asking 5.5L. (brand new costed 6.95L on road at that time) After much of negotiation & talks. He finally agreed to close in at 5L. Been 2 years since i purchased this car. So far had no issues with it. Battery was replaced recently. I have been getting a fuel economy of 12KMPL in City limits and around 16-17kmpl in the highways. Driving this is a breeze. Steering is very light which makes it really easy to quickly maneuver around in the City. Ride quality is pretty good as well. Overall really happy with my choice. Have also made a couple of long drives. To bangalore & coorg. Never had any issue or strain driving this for long. completed 2 paid service. The latter costed 7 grands the one before was at 4 grands respectively. PROS 1.Feature packed car. Has all the goodies like the Bluetooth audio system with steering mount controls. Driver seat height adjust. Steering tilt adjust. leather wrapped steering wheel gives a very good grip. Rear defogger; alloy wheels & rear wash wipe. 2. Light steering wheel makes it very easy to handle & less stressful 3. Push button start makes it feel premium. Even my Polo GT which costs 11L change doesnt have it. 4. Rear AC vents is a boon. Powerful Cooling as well. 5. Really smooth engine. you don't even know that the engine is on ;) CONS 1. During that time. The Airbags & ABS were equipped only on the ASTA (O) variant. Hence this one misses out on that. Currently Grand i10 comes with standard driver airbag for all variants (Even the base model ERA) 2. I felt the Fuel economy i am getting is on the lower side. Maybe that's how much everyone get. Always felt that it's not enough.
