Hyundai Grand I10 bad experience
Hi Sir,
I am suffering with the Grand i10 purchased a week ago.Yesterday being a weekend, when I took out the car for a ride along with my family it all of a sudden started making a strange sound , stopped twice on the road and thereafter the AC was not working and then finally to my surprise FUMES started coming out of the bonnet. I was petrified, the people on the road also raised an alarm and we all came out of the car. Until this time my car was run just 100 kms.
We then saw the coolant was half left and it was spilled all over inside the bonnet. I then raised an alarm to the Garve hyundai wakad Pune sales person with whom I had corresponded and asked for an arrangement to see it as we were stuck in the middle of the road. There again, it took 2 hours for the person to come and take it which otherwise he promised will be coming in half an hour. So even the after sales service is not upto the mark, wanting our family to wait in the sun for that much time.
After check up at the showroom, the service person said, everything is right and may be while delivering the coolant cap left loosened, which I was not at all convinced and he sent me back after filling the coolant and testing a ride and asked us to test it for few days. Until this time the car after being tested and everything, it ran for 150 kms.
After full day of rush and hush, we though to go out for a short drive on the same day in the evening and later when we parked the vehicle in our building we checked the coolant again and to my utter despair the coolant was half left again and I am petrified to drive it after this thinking that the same fumes will start coming out again.
Until this time, the car ran for 175 kms. This all shows that after every 50-60 kms the coolant is getting half and the car is using a lot of coolant with strange sounds.. Even the service person cannot judge it.
I have used other cars as well in the past and have run for 300-400 kms a day and this thing and coolant consumption never happened in the past.
This all means I have been delivered a faulty engine and a faulty car with a manufacturing defect. I do not feel safe and secure to drive this car and more so along with my family. I feel so frustrated and irritated after this and cannot waste time on it everyday and so need a solution to it at the earliest.
I would request your intervention in this matter and hope would be given an replacement and will be solved at the earliest.
PS: This is a Grand i10 PLUS model which the sales manager Mr Devidas suggested , comes with a touch music system, although there is no plus model mentioned anywhere on the car and delivery was also late by 8-10 days.. and when asked they said it does not come with any branding which also was a little dubious to me.

Already registered a complaint and still no positive response as this is causing mental depression to me after investment of my hard work money invested.

interior cabin space is really nice and well equipped console and gear box is really smooth u will love to drive car in city and on highway too the car is really responsive and having a good handling and really nice suspesion.

Its really confusing when u are planning to buy a car and it takes a lot of time to compare and to decide which car to go for ...and i too have gone through that situation but finally i landed in to grand i10 & i am really happy with the drive quality and comfort ,fuel efficenecy could be a concern but its manageable upto an extent ..so within this price its really an unbeatable competitor..

fuel efficiency could be some what better.....
interior ,handling ,legroom ,cabin space ,drive quality all will give an experirnce of sedanfuel milege could be better....

Exterior Hyundai grand i 10 has a very nice look from rear end. form front it look like a small car. Height of car is gocd. Quality of fiber used in external parts is too delicate. Very less ground clearance. Good for city drive bu t poor for high way drive makes noice and vibration specilly in deisel version. Sound system is very good.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Good leg space provided. good bucket shaped rear seats, rear ac makes feel good, Hyndai has given good range of interior features. At the end what maters is the engine power and performance with makes hyundai one step back than swift and other hatchback cars like polo, figo, etc.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Hyndai has 3 cylinder engine, poor pick up, special problem with the engine is is turbo charger. Many grand i 10 are having this problem of faulty turbo charger.
This company is completly unrelaible in what they quote for trque and other outcomes. Company claims milage 25/litr its completely unreliable. Gearbox is soft for driving.
Ride Quality & Handling Vibrations are prominant, outside sound is disturbing, poor suspensions, ground clearance is less makes your driving like a going on a mission. alla the time one has to be very careful specially on highways.
Final Words Very poor service. dealers are theri to enchroach money all the tiime, No proper communications dept. in hyndai. once they sell car no body takes an effort to llok into the grivience. Hyndai is actually a unrliable company as all they claim is exagerated figures only.

Never buy Hyundai grand 10 Asta AT car. After running 3 to 4 km, it's engine gives noise on acceleration. You can compare the noise with manual driven car when someone try to .accelerate the car in higher gear at lower speed. It's clearly design issue as this issue is there in other grand I10 automatic version as well. Car has been sent to workshop twice but no solution. I was told to drive for some more time and inform the behaviour of car? One needs to ask question to MD of Hyundai whether he would ever buy such car! I am confident the answer will be a Big NO! I am not sure of fate of the car, buthief not satisfied, will have to go in litigation.
So beware of buying this car.

Exterior Its nice exterior and good color combination is catchy and looks nice in the road. Like the rear part with the brake light.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Overall good interior. Spacious. good quality of plastic. Lots of space for multi purpose use in front. dashboard is good and liked the 2 tone interior. Lots of space in the back. 3 normal size person can seat comfortably. Enough bootspace for the luggage in the back and its good.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Here comes the main point. Though its same engine but I feel more power in this. And driving is fun. Turning radius is small so its nice to drive. I can easily drive busy areas on 3rd gear even though I am novice.
In terms of FE, I can't tell more. I haven't calculate correctly. Thinking of calculating the FE after first servicing. But the FE is somewhere around 12-13 KMPL now and I hope it will increase after the servicing. I have driven around 700 Km which is whole in the city in and arounf Gurgaon and Delhi. Will update the FE after 1st service.
Ride Quality & Handling As I mentioned earlier its really fun to ride. Even my colleagues who were having other cars, they also liked the riding and their expression is like WoW.
Final Words Go for it. New car in the market and Hyundai did not disappoint. They did not compromise like other companies in terms of the quality of interior or any other thing. U will never feel like sitting on a cheap car.
Areas of improvement Hyundai should improve the car on the safety part. Even the higher variant does not have any safety equipments. Some things like rear defogger, ABS, Airbag and all are not there in the sportz model but some unnecessary feature like push button to start, cool glove box. I think Hyundai should take care of this to compete in a better way. They can have the feature as its there in i20 magna optional and sportz.
