did a good research on cars in the indian market. started off with hyundai accent, chevrolet aveo and even dug around skoda fabia.
did a lot of reading at carwale as well.. understanding the views of the car users' community.
aveo was a choice in the initial stage and so was accent. accent in person looked like a ship than a car and in chennai traffic, one could end up hitting in many places!
aveo test drive happened later on. the suspension was horrible.. there is a patch in the velachery tambaram road which is built by the govt esp. for car test drives.. i felt that aveo made me look as if i was sitting on the road and being dragged.
the dealer discount on aveo was pathetic and it took a lot of talking to get some decent offers. by then - it was really out of steam in my scheme of things.
decided to go back to the hatchback/small car segment. maruti has a lot of inherent advantages in that the service centres are spread across most locations in india. but it didnt give me the cut when it came to interiors. the dull black front section really turned me off.
my criteria for a car was quite simple - good suspension, decent fuel economy, good quality of ride - comfort and better interiors.
didnt want to buy something too simple looking (interior wise). so maruti went out of the window. the only option was hyundai. typically hyundai cars are good from an interior perspective and also the suspension is quite effective for indian roads. which car to go for in hyundai?
i10 was too small for 5 ppl to travel... we checked it out at the dealers'. hyundai getz prime - looked good - with the criteria i had in mind. the interiors looked rich for a car, my parents wouldnt have to suffer thro long journeys at the back seat and yes, it gave a good spacy feeling inside the car.
thats how my car hunting session ended. booked it and its soon to be at my door. will confirm on the economy front soon enough.
good styling, excellent space for the back seat folks, easy to drive in city limitsnothing much - so far!Exterior/Styles

Exterior Design (4/5)
Very attractive, especially the front side. But rear side is a little bit of a let down.
Interiors & space (5/5)
The dashboard and beige interiors are good. Lot of storage places. Very spacious and airy cabin. Big boot.
Performance (4/5)
Acceleration is good with good low end torque. Highway driving and overtaking is a breeze.
Fuel Economy (3/5)
Getting around 9kmpl city with AC. But this will increase for sure.
Ride & handling (4/5)
More tuned for ride comfort than for handling.
Braking (5/5)
Stops well with help from ABS.
Refinement (5/5)
Very good. No engine noise or road noise or tyre noise.
Safety (4/5)
ABS yes but no airbags. Collapsible steering, crumple zones, side impact beams , good visibility for driver, rear defogger/washwipe & fog lamps add to the overall safety. NCAP rating of 4 out 5
Quality (5/5)
Quality of all the materials and gadgets used is very good for a car in this segment. (Except for the mock wood finish)
Comfort (4.5/5)
Comfortable seats. Rear seats recline, split 60:40 and double fold. Arm rest for driver. Terrific AC. No strain on the engine. Power windows with illuminated switches. Power/tilt steering.
Instrumentation (4/5)
Digital ODO meter (with 2 trip meters) and clock and analog tacho meter, speedometer and fuel guage. Door ajar, boot ajar & low fuel warning lights are useful.
Overall (4.5/5)
Good value for money. Very reliable (based on friend’s feedback). Go for it! You'll enjoy every moment driving it!!!

I am a proud owner of Getz GLE 1.1 (real earth) sice 27th march.
The car fulfills all my requirements.
Some very user friendly features: 60-40 spliting rear seats, boot access from cabin, adjustable steering, lots of cubbyholes to put small things like sunglasses, mobiles, magazines and everything (there is no longer any cluter in the cabin as there is a specific place for all the articles that I carry along.
Great driving position (excellent seating position with great view of the road, large windows ensure good alround view and give an airy feel in the cabin.)
Rear legroom is large, seats are very comfortable, rear sears backrest can be adjusted at 3 angles: great comfort for long drives.
Boot is big with very easy loading because of wide boot release door. Double folding seats leaves you with a boot which I just can’t describe in words.Really some big thought has gone into designing this car.
Beige interiors with high end plastics give a luxury feel once you step into cabin. And that big dash with plateau upper surface-simply great.
Exterior is as exciting-elegant, goodlooking, pleasing to eyes. This car has great charm.
Engine delivers fine with very good AC. Good milage (12 in city with ac)
This is the right choice I made (I am glad I cancelled my earlier booked Swift-which just is hyped a lot)
One word for Getz prime: OUTSTANDING.

Exterior Good looking car with strong body structure,
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Interior needs some improvement like stearing mounted switches, air bags for safety, boue tooth conectivity, seats can be replaced for more comfort, rear seats can be provided with hand rest in the centre as the car can travel almost 500 km of more without any brake.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Most powerful engine gives tackoff effect in any gear, fuel economy is good upto speed of 100 kmph or less speed. 5 speed gear box is good we can aply one more overdrive gear as the car is over powered.
Ride Quality & Handling We feals the ride as good as horse riding, best stearing control, there is no other car has over taken us but we always overtake the cars of any make and model, best suspension system for smooth run at the speed of 190 kmpl or more on Indian roads.
Final Words Getz CRDI is best car among all models of HYUNDAI.
Areas of improvement Wheel rims needs more streigth.
One of the best car from Hyundai, good pickup, best road grip at highest speed of 190 kmph,Why Hyundai motors discontinued this car.

I was really excited to get into the Getz Prime 1.1 having heard great things about the car.
As soon as you get inside, you can make out - its a BIG car. Lots of room, practical things(pockets of storage, tilt steering, excellent seats). The ride is very comfortable, but surely its a big car with a small engine. The ride is very sluggish, i drove the Swift and the Swift Dezire and this car is no match if you are looking at a peppy ride. Its almost at times like an elephant on the roads.
Where the car scores is the ride when it takes 4th gear and the great comfort negotiating the N number of bumps on bangalore roads. However, i think i was more at ease with my santro when negotiating the city traffic.
Buy it if you want great mileage, comfort, and have a family. Also for build and interiors quality.
Do not buy it if you are looking for a peppy ride and love to feel the engine take off when u press the pedal as that is a disappointment.
Build and interiors, space, sluggish ride, pick up and handling
