Car Review: 2018 Hyundai Elantra Diesel
Buying Experience
Purchasing the 2018 Hyundai Elantra Diesel was a straightforward and pleasant experience. Hyundai dealerships are known for their customer-centric approach, and this was evident from the moment I entered the showroom. The sales team was professional, well-informed, and patient, ensuring all my questions were answered without any pressure to close the deal quickly. Financing options were clearly laid out, and the entire process, from selecting the car to finalizing the paperwork, was handled smoothly and efficiently.
Driving Experience
The 2018 Hyundai Elantra Diesel offers a satisfying driving experience. The 1.6L turbocharged diesel engine provides a robust 126 horsepower and 260 Nm of torque, delivering a surprising punch for a car in this class. The six-speed manual transmission (or the optional six-speed automatic) complements the engine well, offering smooth shifts and responsive acceleration. The Elantra handles well around corners, with minimal body roll and good feedback from the steering. The ride quality is comfortable, absorbing most road imperfections with ease, making it an ideal companion for both city commutes and highway drives.
Looks and Performance
The 2018 Elantra sports a sleek and contemporary design, characterized by sharp lines, a prominent hexagonal grille, and stylish alloy wheels. The LED daytime running lights and dynamic rear end give it a distinctive, modern look.
Performance-wise, the diesel engine shines with its combination of power and efficiency. It offers excellent low-end torque, making overtaking and climbing hills effortless. Fuel economy is one of its standout features, providing impressive mileage, which is a significant advantage for long-distance drivers.
Servicing and Maintenance
Hyundai's reputation for reliability and customer service is reflected in the maintenance of the 2018 Elantra Diesel. Routine servicing is straightforward and relatively affordable. The widespread availability of Hyundai service centres ensures easy access to certified maintenance and genuine parts. Additionally, Hyundai offers a comprehensive warranty that covers major components, adding to the overall peace of mind. Scheduled maintenance is crucial to keep the diesel engine running smoothly, but the costs are reasonable, and the intervals are well-spaced.
Pros and Cons
**Pros:**
- **Fuel Efficiency:** Exceptional fuel economy, ideal for long-distance driving.
- **Performance:** Strong low-end torque and responsive acceleration.
- **Design:** Modern and sleek exterior design with a well-appointed interior.
- **Comfort:** Comfortable ride quality with good handling and minimal road noise.
- **Features:** Well-equipped with modern tech and safety features.
**Cons:**
- **Infotainment System:** The infotainment system, while functional, could benefit from a more intuitive interface and better integration with smartphones.
- **Rear Seat Space:** The rear seats might feel slightly cramped for taller passengers on longer journeys.
- **Diesel Noise:** The diesel engine, though efficient, can be slightly noisier compared to petrol variants, especially at higher RPMs.
Overall, the 2018 Hyundai Elantra Diesel is an excellent choice for those seeking a stylish, efficient, and well-performing sedan. Its combination of fuel economy, driving dynamics, and modern features make it a compelling option in its segment.

Good performance and high maintenance
Buying experience was nice and smooth, the waiting time was also less than other cars, driving experience is fine but not at all good, once you try a another car of the same price range, the looks of the car is amazing and you can always get an addon from the car market, servicing and maintenance to me was on the hectic part of this whole car experience, it can be smoother, for pros and cons i would say this has good exterior and gives a true sedan feel.

Underrated Car!
One of the most underrated cars in the market. The comfort and luxury feeling is unparallel. The petrol is so damn powerful it can smoke everything else in Indian streets. The 2 litre naturally aspirated is a breeze and demon in one! The NVH levels are unparallel!
It triumphs Civic in comfort and luxury feeling by ages!
