I want to share my experience with this car.

This is the worst car. i bought it 1.5 years ago. Service centre are total fraud.

This car will get your kedney sold as per maintenence.

      1) As per honda service centre you need to change your car tires every 30,000 KMS else they would not do "wheel balancing" and "Wheel alignment". Even if there is no need to change the car they would presserize you to change the tires. (This happened with me) As per bridgestone OR Michelin it do not depend upon the number of KMS (I Contacted them after i  changed the tires which can run 25,000 more.

      2) A single scratch in car will cost you 10,000 rupees. If you can handle it you can buy it.

      3) hell lot of vibrations whicle accelerating will get you frustrated mainly in diesel engine. This can the due to under-refined engine produced by HONDA.

      4) over-commitment by sales person and service is like they will charge huge amount (diesel) for 10,000(Odd service) kms service cost is 6000 rs and 20,000 (even service) will cost 11,000 rupees.

MOST IMPORTANT: I raised it with HONDA INDIA BOARD OF DIRECTORS. They are not providing solutions to the customer instead they are against the customers. In all HONDA FRAUD COMPANY.

Got the VX MT iVTEC 2017 The car is the best option in the C segment sedan market. Beautiful looks - better than all rivals. The DRLS, grill, bumper, alloy wheels all add to that really sexy look. Drive - iVTEC is the best naturally aspirated engine in the range. It loves to rev and if driven enthusiastically, puts a wide grin on your face. The vento TSI is the only better engine here. The gearbox is slick and the second, third to fourth gears are a joy to use. Interior - Really plush seats, sunroof is a great addition. Quality could be improved. Vento, rapid and Verna ahead in plastics quality. But seats are on another level in this car. The back seat has acres of space. The sound quality from speakers is absolutely top notch. Look no further and go for this car if you want affordable luxury and a Prodigy of an engine. Honda delivers on all its strengths with this car. No wonder it is the people's flagship among the Honda range. Cons : interior plastic quality

I'm the unfortunate owner of new Honda city VMT P. Honda talks so much abt their cust services & product quality but in reality, they treat you like a dog in case of real car issues & breakdown. Right from Honda cust care (call/email) , RSA & dealers don't respect Indian customers.I am suffering but you shouldn't.

When you think of buying a proper mid size sedan in India, the first name that comes to your mind will obviously be the Honda City. City has been enjoying a commanding market share and was the king of the segment until the competition stepped in the recent past. The reputation this car has earned in the hearts of Indian families is enormous. You just can't be wrong with Honda . Or Can You ? Over the past few years Honda has undergone a management change. Some of the best organisational practices at Honda were under the axe of cost cutting with clear objectives of the management to increase the profitability for its investors. Honda's engineers were forced to design products under a very tight budget. This has obviously effected the quality of the cars and in India the Honda City in particular. This in no way means the Honda City is a bad car. But does it live up to the expectations from a Honda ? Let's find out. The vehicle been reviewed is a 2015 model Honda City VX petrol variant. I have driven it for 48000 kms as off now. Review will be based on the pros and cons of the vehicle I have experienced till date. Pros 1. Road presence by virtue of its size and design. The presence of sunroof adds to that extra premium look so do the sharkfin antenna. 2. Long wheelbase that converts into the best rear bench in the segment. 3. Smart packaging skills and Interiors : One of the most spacious and airy cabins. Large windows and Sun roof. Rear leg room is among the best in segment. Well cushioned seats with reasonable under thigh support. Two cup holders upfront and the door bins can hold a 1 litre bottle each plus some more. Big centre hand rest with storage space. Seat pack pockets . Rear centre arm rest with cup holders. Not to forget the enormous 500 litre boot with boot light. 4. Features : I would like to give a special mention to the reverse cam of Honda City. Its among the best. Its usable at the night too. Cruise Control helps rest your right foot on the highways. Rear A.c. vents keep the rear occupants happy even though a long journey. A.C unit is touch operated. Initially one will find it difficult to use while driving. But soon will get practiced. Its works smooth but the sound of the air blown out is on the higher side. The Infotainment System is a small 5 inch non touch colour display. Its good enough for the reverse cam display . The sound quality is ok but not the best even with 4 speakers and 4 tweeters. There is only Bluetooth connectivity. No android auto or car play. The side mirrors can be folded from inside. Another thing that is spot on is the overall ergonomics of the cabin. The cruise control switches are on the right side and steering mounted. So easy to use even in City traffic. All other controls are right where you expect them to be. 5. Driving and Performance: The iVTec engine is a gem of an engine. You want power it gives power , you want efficiency it delivers that. The 119 PS engine with 145 Nm torque was more than enough for a family car. But in case you want some action the ivtec can deliver that too. The engine accelerates uniformly and there is no sudden rush of power. The gear shifts are short and smooth. However the clutch is on the heavier side. Overtakings are quick when driving alone but needs some planning when you have more occupants and luggage. If you are a very calm driver you can easily get 18 Kmpl to 19 Kmpl on highways and 14 to 15 Kmpl on city roads. The steering is leather wrapped a joy to hold. Its mostly perfect but I felt its no where as smooth as my cousins Volkswagen Vento and Scoda rapid. Still fine for the most part. Suspension is on the harder side and even small gutters on the road are felt badly in the cabin but it works good in highway speeds. I haven't ever scrapped the under belly anywhere so far not even on extremely broken deep road pits . So that explains why the suspension is hard. Also the engine underside is protected with a metal sheet cover further inspiring confidence. The top speeds I have reached is 140 kpmh and seriously it feels nervous to drive this car beyond that speed. That's partially because of the small 175 section tyres which are good fit for a Swift but not a car the size of the City. That said the car has excellent drivability. You can easily accelerate in 3rd gear from as low as 20 kpmh without choking the engine. Cons: Almost every cons this car was born out of Honda's reckless cost cutting excercise. Major Cost cutting and form over function design : The styling of the vehicle is given much importance. You have lots of vacant space in the engine bay which Honda could have better utilised. Also there is no cladding under the bonnet or under the boot lid. All wiring are weirdly exposed. There is only partial cladding under the front wheels. The rubber beading surrounding the doors aren't complete. They don't completely cover the door. Also some rubber beadings have already worn off from the front wind shield. NVH levels aren't that good. It was unbearable in the diesel City which I test drived and rejected immediately. The headlamps reflectors are designed in tune with the arrow shot design. But instead of focussing the beam on to the road, the light focusses on the left side of the vehicle. Honda corrected this flaw in the recent city by splitting the reflectors. The beam also has a very short throw. The fog lamps are nothing but a decoration piece. Absolutely useless. The tyre size is used keeping fuel efficiency only in mind. Honda upgraded this to 185 section on the current city. The hard tuned suspension makes tackling broken roads a difficult. Even small gutters are felt inside the cabin. The vehicle sometimes becomes unstable during extremely poor roads. The plastics used on the lower side of the dashboard are extremely poor quality. Conclusion: Despite the on your face cost cutting the City is a good vehicle overall. It was just that you aren't satisfied because you expected more reliability and quality from Honda. I was stuck on the road 5 times in the last 3 years. ( Three times for tyre puncture , one time when hand brake cable broke off and once when there was a stone hit the underside of the vehicle. ) You just can't expect this from a nearly 12 lakh Honda. But despite all this the vehicle has been mostly reliable and a great asset. If Honda cares address the issues of its products the City could once again be the undisputed king of the segment.

Exterior Gorgeous looks, nice aerodynamic structure but sheet metal is very bad. damper, fender fitting is bad, the quality of disk of the front wheels is very bad, it gets rusty very frequently.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Comfort of this car is luxurious in this segment, seating comfort, riding comfort is very good.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Overall performance is good except  the power of the engine. It matters while you overtaking a vehicle. It has a less power than  my expectation was high before buying. but driving exp. is very good.

Ride Quality & Handling Awesome ride quality and balance,  ABS, EBD control, steering control, tyres quality is very very good.

Final Words Overall Honda city is a very good car good milage . value for mony. Nobody can say its a bad car.

Areas of improvement Its a very bad point that a 11 lakh's model(2016   Petrol-V  model) does not have GPS. and the display of this car is not compatable with external GPS.

Engine power can be improved little bit.

Sheet metal and some exterior fittings( fender, window side exterior plastic fitting ) should be improved because I think  Honda city is the KING of this segment so HONDA should maintain a quality level.

Comfort, space, fuel economy @ Highwaythin sheet metal, poor front fender fittings, damper fittings, no GPS in 11 lakh Rs/ model

I have been using city since 2016, and the only thing I feel good about dis car is space, good driveability and a peppy engine. But it's losses points in rest all sectors. The worst part is the spares cost and not at good to travel. The shocks are on stiffer side with heavy thud noises while commuting over bad roads. Honda should Learn from their Korean competitors on how dey had managed to handle with decent comfort. The new Yaris is a lot super engineered product although it misses on looks and space. It also scores very less on the performance department and is not at all a drivers car. But the comfort is excellent, almost similar to the old corolla. The NVH levels are excellent, plus Toyota's top reliability and ownership experience is something that u will appreciate. People say Toyota products will outstand the normal life span of their owners. I accept that Honda too is reliable but doesn't have the satisfaction and ownership wow factor of its main competitor "Toyota" experience due to the elevated scharges and . My advice is, if ur a pocket worrier please don't choose any Honda cars, as they r expensive, on the side if u don't worry about ur pocket and wish to have drivers car or u r a person who enjoys driving, plz go ahead wid Honda. My personal reviews is always better to buy Toyota as it's a complete piece of mind.

Owning a city was my dream, it came true in 2015. Nice riding comfort (at a stretch I have driven with my family to Tirupathi from Ernakulam @720 km with short breaks. No break downs no complaints etc. The problem i felt was that it has low ground clearance, and found water in headlamps. Good mileage at a point i got 36Kms average on a 363km journey. SAFETY= On 14th may I met with an accident, direct hit to a private bus, my car got badly damaged and was declared a total loss by insurance auth. The underline is that not even an injury nor a scratch hapoened to me. Both the airbags deployed. I definitely owe to honda for the safety features. Now if my financial situation allows I will go for city 2020

Warning: Pathetic car when it comes to mileage. The average in city roads is close to 9 kmpl and Honda claims it to be 18kmpl under test conditions. You should go for a Verna instead.

Even high end cars like Audi or BMW gives a better mileage.  Honda after sales service is also hopeless and contradicts their sales pitch that on road it will give an average of 14kmpl. It is just sales stunt to lure customers.

I was initially said the mileage will increase after service but all the 3 free services and infact the average has gone down.

I got cheated you please dont.

I had a Honda City manual before and upgraded to automatic and made the biggest mistake. The claim by Honda is Automatic will give more mileage as it is CVT technology which a sales gimmick

If you don’t believe me visit a Honda showroom a speak to a sales guy.

      smooth driveextremely poor mileage

Yeah where to start ,okay starting from buying this beautiful machine 2 yrs back actually at that time we had many consideration . We were going for a SUV at that time , we never thought of a sedan . We walked into Honda dealership to test drive a wrv at that time but our eye was caught be a car and we thought why not try this car also . Took it for a spin and only one thing was in our mind buying this car - the Honda City. It's one of the beautiful car in market in my opinion. We went for a white colour and a diesel model . We were using it for some drives and some special events so and so . But my dad started hating this car because of its low ground clearance . He never praised this car and never recommended it to anyone. But if you ask me , I will always go for this car . Actually we owned a lot of cars and you know what , this one is staying with me for another decade possibly..lol . Yeah I am sure I am not going to sell this soon , if it's possible this will stay in garage forever. So what made me take this decision . Why would I keep a midsize sedan forever . Oh boy this is going to get crazy . Let me tell you , my mom got a transfer right after we bought this car . She daily need to commute 250 kms for work . She did not opt for staying there , so she daily need to commute . Imagine driving a car daily 250 kms . Imagine a engine wear and tear . At first I thought the car is going to become like a travels car considering our car is a diesel . Fast forward two year , how is the car now? Still looking fresh and clean and so new. Now our car has done more than 110000km and still it sounds like new . No wired noice inside the cabin ,nothing crikes and rattles inside still it's smooth to my surprise and never ever brokedown, not a single time. As I said earlier we owned a lot of cars and most of them has given us trouble even at the range of 45000km , but this car - never . Every friends of mine getting in the car and seeing the kms driven they go to a shock face . As I said it still looks new . This car also got soft corner in my dad's mind . Servicing in our local Honda dealership is also very good and had no trouble there . Performance is also good ,I always like to throw this car around the streets and corners. It tops out at amazing speed . Only cons for us is the low ground clearance, particularly for my dad , I don't care about the low ground clearance as we also own another luxury sedan having lower ground clearance . I can a lot more about this beautiful machine , but now you guys know what would I say..lol i can keep on praise this car for hours and will surely recommend this car over any car . Thank you for reading this article and don't mind the grammatical mistakes in this article because I did not have time to proof check it .
