Exterior Good looks. Real streamlined body aerodynamically. Very large boot.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Lot of leg room, after driving a Gypsy with driver seat at rearmost position, I had to pull the seat forward in the City. Good music system. Plenty of leg room for the rear seat as well.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Excellent engine that is silent and very responsive. Gave me 23.7 kmpl in winters and 18.5 in summers with AC running during early morning hours and 17.5 at noon in Delhi's June heat. This may be because during daytime the AC has to work harder to maintain the required temperature inside. An effective AC system it has.
Ride Quality & Handling Comfortable for both driver and pasengers. Good power and braking. But due to low ground clearence it seems that your bottom will get scraped on that small stone in your path.
Final Words This car is real value for money both running and resale wise.
Areas of improvement Please raise the ground clearence.

Exterior The car is still gr8 in the looks dept if yoy compare all the other cars in this segment.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) I still feel it has the best interiors in its class. and we love the beige in india...don't we...??? The qaulity of plastics is good. I still wish that they should have given the climate control in this one as many of the hatchbacks now have this very common feature.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox It has got a very linear accleration . gear shifts are smooth. great for driving in city traffic.
Ride Quality & Handling I still wish honda shud consider changing those skinny 175 tyres...which feels a bit adequate at high speed of 120 kmph and above. the car feels like its struggling to get the grip on the road.
Final Words Real value for your money.
Areas of improvement Raise the ground clearnce and also features like bluetooth, cruise control , rear parking sensors, if honda can provide all these features at the same price it wil be a car worth buying.

Exterior Great looking car with Decent & Royal looks, Hyundai Fluidic Verna tried to copy the city. but could not give that decent & royal looks, ORIGINAL IS ORIGINAL.Cool. Even after two years of launch of 3rd generation city, its looks are unmatcable... Still it the best looking car in this segment.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Space & Comfort wise again city over scores over its competetors....but yes some features like climate control/ bluetooth/ reverse camra if added will take city into a differnt level.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Great performance. Be it fuel economy or gear box, city is different from its competeors.
Ride Quality & Handling Excellent Driving pleasure. Handiling & Ride quality in city or highway is good.Smile. The front & rear view both are very good.
Final Words If someone wishes to buy petrol car. Go only for Honda city. Now with the price reduction you get a real value for money.Cool. After buying Honda city. I have become a big fan of Brand honda. I am also planning to buy a hatchbag. I am eagerly waiting for Honda's hatchbag BRIO.

Exterior Great exterior look, aeroshape is unique feture, lokkk good and give excelant commond over driving. the shape is too good no car in this range having such luxery look and feel.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Royale look very good, you feel very comfortable and homely feeling inside. Beige color is very good but tough to maintain. very good leg space. Boot space is too big that you can go for a long drive with family for 15 days.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Very good, fuel economy is 12KMPL in city and 14KMPL at highway, gearbox is smooth.
Ride Quality & Handling Extremely good.
Final Words If you can spent 9 lacs go for City only. Good car in this segment, no car near Honda City in this range. Before I bought, I took test drive of SX-4, Vento, Tata Manza and Etios once or twice to make sure my choice must be not rgretfull. Now I am owning Honda City and I am happy with the performance and I feel proud to be owner of it.
Areas of improvement The driver seat can be little widen, the arm rest is to backside so it is difficult to use while driving.

Exterior Exterior is excellent and the styling is great with the aerodynamic design.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Interiors could have had leather seats for the fully loaded version, which is the only missing part. Honda has not given muh of the features like the GPS, bluetooth which most of the cars now have. Space and comfort wise a very good car.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine performance is good and the fuel economy is also good. It averages with 12.5 in city with AC.
Ride Quality & Handling Excellent.
Final Words Excellent value for money on quality and standards.
Areas of improvement Leather seats for the top end version. Features like bluetooth with the CD player. Rear AC vents. These are the new things that i would love to see in a city. One important disadvantage is the low ground clearance and on the indian roads, this is a bigggg problem.

It has been 3 years since the car is launched and it is still the king of the segment. we hav the car for the past 2 years. it has been a gem. it is amazing both from rear seat and driver seat. it has an amazing top end. the i-vtec is a gem. it has a big boot. in equipment department, honda is not generous. they just offered a pen drive music system and steering controls. it also has a big boot which is really practical. it does not have climate control. but looks wise, its the best in class. it has a very good aerodymanic futuristic look. its a junior civic. overall its a brilliant package. only thing tht will be irritating is the car in bad roads. with the soft suspension setup, and low ground clearence, it will just give worries to you in bad roads. but otherwise, its the best petrol sedan under 10 lakh.

Exterior It looks stylish. I bought it in urban titanium.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) spacious.only thing I miss is placing a normal size mineral water bottle, even though there is space for half liter bottles.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox The engine is the best part. It is silent so much so u have to look at the indicator to ensure if ur car,s engine is still on when u are at traffic lights. I m finding the gear box little difficult but that may be because i donot press the clutch enough. It is giving me an average of 13.5 in the city. I have driven only. 200 kms.
Ride Quality & Handling I thought I would not be able to drive a big car being a lady and always having driven hatch backs. But now I take it out alone too.
Final Words I want to industrial area phase I chandigarh determined to buy the new swift. But i changed my mind when i saw the boot space and the price of nearly seven lakhs for the upper model with all feature(air bags etc)I thought if i add another one and a half lakh i may get the new verna fluidic. The hyunddai show room was next door. They were courteous but kept on harping about the waiting period. I was ready for that too till I saw the rear seats.Nooooo... the middle had a hump where was my third passenger going to sit. That clinched the issue. The honda showroom (prestige honda) were next door. They treated us well, gave a good offer ( undisclosed) and processed everything fast. I brought home my city the next day. Have driven 200 KMs. Very happy. I would like to thank neelam and manish and baljinder from lally automobiles. I donot know abt the after sales service as i have not yet gone back to them Wait for my review on that.

Warning for a Hasty reader: This is conceived an written creatively as a Biography of an Indian's Knee. Here my Knee refers to me as it's boss. If you get confused, I am sorry but you are hasty guy/girl😉
Jan 2010: I reflect back and 2001 was the year I started getting the monotonous, treacherous and painful job of pressing, holding down and slowly releasing the torture device called the “clutch” on and off in the Chennai traffic. No words in any language can describe my agony when the traffic runs bumper to bumper. I do not know why human race is so mad designing a stuff like the clutch that would torture and hurt their own body part mercilessly. They put it in a contraption called "pleasure" car in which I have never experienced pleasure until 9th Jan 2010.
On 9th Jan 2010, I helped my Boss on his way to a Honda show room and believe me he was taking delivery of a Brand New Honda iV-TEC 5AT . On the way home my Boss used me to press the clutch. What a surprise! THERE WAS NO CLUTCH! And the place where a clutch used be was a fine carpet shaped like a shoe inner and I landed there with a soft ‘thud”. Imagine my rendezvous with a soft carpet instead of a metallic lever clad in smelly rubber. I was feeling like hugging a buxom country lass. I was rejoicing with Super slow motion replays of the “thud” several times. My boss was blurting to his wife shyly, "Oops I keep reaching for the clutch by reflex" and his left arm also moved in sync with me to reach the shift lever. First it gave me an empty feel. The second time he did, I started giggling silently. Third time onwards my giggle increased with the logarithmic scale and I was happy happier, happiest and ecstatic.
Good things as per my boss are – Excellent maneuverability, Fuel efficiency (AT) at this size, Care free bumper to bumper driving using crawl facility (the best reward in choosing the AT), Logical AT system
However My boss was complaining about Honda taking more money and the following points
1. No Climate control only HVAC, No Audio acknowledgement for keyless entry,
2. Door locking not interlocked with ignition position or vehicle speed (Systems in cars like Skoda lock the doors automatically when the vehicle crosses the 5 to 10 kmph mark. Key less entries now have all integrated including windows up),
3. Cheap looking rubber beadings on the doors obviously the moulds are not finished well and apparently no quality check on appearance under the boot, hood and invisible areas.
4. Rear Wheel arches not finished well,
5. Hard plastic feel of the inner Door panels and Dash board,
6. No CD player instead a cumbersome MP3 player which has a painful folder navigation (it does not know the concept of Main folder to Sub folder, it treats all the folders at the same hierarchy).
7. Additionally the pricing is premium they can knock off a lakh without a flinch.
8. Air con is slightly disappointing
9. Suspension is not good enough for rough roads (Rear Passengers bear the brunt)
And my boss was all in smiles with his relatives, friends, and acquaintances when he explained about the AT. There were a few villains in them who spoiled his mood for selecting an AT in India. He was quick to retort with reasonable anger that India is most suitable for AT, reasons - mad inching Traffic, drivers are not dependable and rob off privacy and becoming a safety concern now-a-days. Unless you belong to a breed who never want to touch the wheel, never like the AT like Majority of the Europeans or after fuel economy despite the fact that you would be saving a fortune on Drivers Salary. Most of the Villains then get convinced except a few dogmatic personalities.
He also told his critics the following; A typical cost saving working is as Follows, assume you run 20 kms a day in the city. Your MT car yields 12kmpl and This AT yields 10kmpl the exchequer you pay for the comfort is just Rs 16.67 a day at a fuel price of Rs 50/litre. If you have a driver who draws Rs 6000 (this is minimum and there are guys who pocket Rs8000), that is fully saved and the net effect is 5566.60 favorable for you assuming 26 days of running 20kms / day. And lastly when you own a 11lac car you should not mind the Fuel economy.
Jul 2011: For the past one and a half years my boss made 33,800 kms on his Honda and he never used me to do the menial job of controlling the clutch. He did give away the new car for the services. Alas his relative’s zen returned for a day to replace the new car’s absence. Even in this distress time, I did notice my boss keeps pressing the brake hard when cranking the ignition and the Zen lunged forward and I was giggling with Joy at this joke; he did this three times. Lucky he uses the Zen Sparingly and hence I was spared.
Mar 2012: My boss had done 47,865 kms & so far many Fuel fills (4029 liters) which averages 11.88 kmpl and was telling his colleagues from 40,000km till date he could get 12.1kmpl in city + Highway mode and just over 10kmpl in pure city driving. His best was 15.6KMPL on a cross city cruise.
Who cares about economy! I am becoming now a couch potato and enjoying life and Singing…..

Final Words - I brought Honda City SMT in January 2012 and so far it is excellent for driving pleasure and makes me a pround owner and has got recognition. Every thing is excellent with Honda City SMT. I have test driven Manza, Hyundai verna. SX4. But no car matches the comfortable ride especially in long distance highway drive. Cruising at 100 KM PH, looks as if you are driving at 60KMPL.Also maneuvering on highways and negotiating large heavy vehicles in NH is very easy on account of ABS I presume. So far happy with the performance of Honda City SMT
Areas of improvement First free service at 1 month is ok. However the second free service is at 3 months which is too early considering the efficiency of the vehicle. Moreover the last and third free service in 6 months is not acceptable. Also the pestering phone calls forcing to bring the vehicle is little bit too much. All other cars have an extended free service period. There fore Honda should also consider extending the free service period as follows:
Ist free service 1 month or 1000 KM'
2nd Free service 6 months or 5000 KM
3rd Free service 12 months or 10000 KM
Considering that many of Honda city car owners are individuals and own driven, driving 5000 KM in 3 months and 10000 KM in 6 months is next to impossible. Hence the service period should be extended so that all owners can bring back for paid service in 18 to 24 months etc.
