The new Honda City is probably the most successful model marketed by Honda in the ASEAN region. It is a bold new model, featuring what many Honda fans consider a ‘futuristic design’ that is based largely on the platform of the highly successful Honda Fit/Jazz. Coming out of Honda R&D Asia in Thailand, it was originally launched in only 1 variant, what has now come to be called the ‘City I-DSI’ featuring the new L15A 1.5l I-DSI engine. I have reviewed the Honda City I-DSI extensively here on TOVA; it is an excellent vehicle with plenty of ‘go’ and superb fuel economy - a fine all-rounded vehicle.
Early this year, Honda Asia launched a new variant, the Honda City 1.5l VTEC. This new VTEC variant turned the City range into a 2 variants line-up by adding the much eagerly awaited performance-oriented variant, what might be called a City ’sports sedan’. Launched first in Thailand as usual, for Malaysia it was launched back in late-July by Honda Malaysia, a much awaited event by Honda and City enthusiasts. A short while after attending the launching, around early August, I got the invitation to attend the City VTEC’s media test-drive session to be held at the hill-top resort of Bukit Tingyi. It was a very interesting session where Honda Malaysia also brought in some engineers from Honda R&D who designed the City VTEC to participate.

The car is designed keeping in mind the Indian market. The exterior is adorned with unique 'Arrow Shot Form' design where the front-end of the car reminds one of the driving energy of the arrow that is thrown from a bow and the rear acquires the shape of the arrow's feather to communicate an aerodynamic appearance that cuts through the wind.
The front of the car stretching from the aggressive new grille to the sharp and angular headlights gives the sedan a sophisticated sporty look. The new City is now even longer, wider and sturdier compared to its predecessor City ZX.
The interior flaunts with its premium cabin that has thoughtful design and abundant convenience features. Advanced meter design, dual tone interiors, world class integrated audio system incorporated with new technologies like iPod support, MP3 capability, USB memory stick input, and plugging in of cell phone with MP3 player are a few highlights. The instrument cluster is ornamented with a metallic tone giving a futuristic look and the dual tone dashboard adds additional appeal.
The Honda City is high on safety and is loaded with several active and passive safety features that comprise of Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) with Brake Assist (BA), Dual SRS airbags, seatbelts with pre-tensioners, and rigid car body with Honda G-Force Control Technology (G-CON). The front body structure of the new Honda City also ensures advanced pedestrian safety.

hi,
Talking about the Honda City- i dont have to say much as it has almost become people's car. A car- A Company which cannot be defeated in the market. The name HONDA provides you the security to your car on failing anywhere due to faults from the engine or mechanical ancillaries.
A car which "DELIVERS when ever DEMANDED" trust me! Every single customer of HONDA MOTORS is happy, with his or her worthy purchase. Value for Money and Value added services is what they believe in.
Dont worry about replace ments of parts as you can be sure that the car wont fail at any cost.
May be one in a billion may have minute problem which will be rectified by the company and corrected in no time. You dont have to worry about it!!!

I feel proud to own a Honda City. In less than two years it has already run more than 33000 km, that too when I have another car. I never had a problem with my car. Because my prefered colour is white, I had to wait for some time. Because I took delivery of the car in 2007 April, I had to pay a higher road tax. The road tax of the car doubled because of the revised tax rates in the state budget during the year. Still, I am not sorry. I have a classic car in the colour of my choice.
My only worry is again because of its colour. Even a very small scratch would be clearly visible. Once a two wheeler hit my City in the rear. I should say that it was only a gentle hit, but was sufficient to make a small mark in the rear bumper. My friends advised me to retain the mark so that the envious eyes of other motorists will not harm the car! A stylish car, white in colour and with a fancy number - no wonder why they made such a comment!

It is a very luxurious car,a car of great power in its class and inspite of that gives a superb fuel economy like about 19-20 kpl. on highways and about 14-15 kpl. it has superb pickup and looks cool.
when i came to know about this car i went to the internet took its review and booked it.after booking my car about 1 month later the display car came into goa and i was shocked to see that the car did not have even mud flaps.
but inspite of all the negative points i appreciate its power and mileage[fuel economy]. i feel that this is a very good car for all the people so that they get the best fuel economy and save some fuel for the future generations to come.
great fuel economy, luxurious, stylish and it is the best in its class.not having even mud flaps, side light on side mirrors,no alloy wheels but steel with plastic cover.Exterior/Styles

Comfort and Safety - I am very happy with comfort, I used to drive maruti vehicles before, it is certainly over any maruti car. I met with an accident a few months back. Another car hit my city from the Left - full blown. The other car (wagon r) was completely damaged. My wife who was sitting on the left got saved with minor injuries. I can tell you that either we were lucky or we are talking about a very strong vehicle.
Spares and Service - Most of the damage was taken care by the insurance company. But whatever little I had to do on my own punched a hole in my wallet. Spares are expensive. One has to take appointment for getting the car serviced and never gets it before close of the day. I clearly think they have sold more cars than they can handle. Servce can get better.

I own a City for now 3 years. I think the factors which are important to a car are the following:
Engine - it has one which is marvelous, so the performance is not a problem. Fuel economy is the best in the class. One doesn't feel while driving this car that it is a task even on the busiest of the roads. Fantastic road handling and manuverability.

Exterior EXTERIOR STYLING IS EXCELLENT, GIVES A LOOK LIKE AN IMPORTED CAR. LOOKS KOOL.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) INTERIOR OF THIS CAR IS KOOL AND COMFORTABLE.SEATS ARE NICE AND COMFORTABLE.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox ENGINE PERFORMANCE IS NICE AND SMOOTH,NOISELESS ENGINE, EVEN ITS SALESMAN WHO DELIVERED THE CAR WAS CONFUSED WHETHER THE ENGINE WAS ON OR NOT.FUEL ECONOMY IS NOT A MATTER WHEN U HAVE SPENT THIS MUCH,ITS OK OTHERWISE.GEARBOX IS NOT ALL THAT SMOOTH AS IT SHOULD BE.
Ride Quality & Handling RIDE QUALITY IS EXCELLENT,SMOOTH AND EASY TO CONTROL FUNCTIONS ALL OVER.
Final Words A MUST BUY. IF U HAVE A BUDGET OF AROUND 10 LACS.
Areas of improvement MUST HAVE AN AUTOMATIC CLIMATE CONTROL.AND HAS ONE DRAWBACK, IT GIVES A GLARE OF ITS DASHBOARD WHEN SUNLIGHT IS DIRECTLY COMING. IT GIVES ALL THE GLARE ON THE WINDSHIELD WHILE DRIVING, IS VERY RISKY ON HIGHWAYS WHEN THE SPEED IS HIGH. BUT I SUPPOSE ITS DUE TO THE AIRBAGS THAT THE COMPANY HAS TO MAKE THE DASHBOARD AREA LARGER. I HAV'NT SPOKEN THIS MATTER TO HONDA PEOPLE. WILL SURELY ASK THIS. REST OF THE CAR PERFORMANCE IS EXCELLENT.
no engine noisechand main bhi daag hota hai...

Exterior Fantastic looks.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Good space for all including the driver. I am using a gypsy too and in that I have to push the driver seat fully back, but in Honda City I have to pull forward two notches from the rearmost position. Thus giving ample room to the passanger sitting behind the driver.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Silent and very fuel efficient engine. In the city of Chandigarh I get an average of about 16.0 and on the Hiway it goes up to 23.5 kmpl. Yes please, 23.5 on hiways. I have tried three different times (i winters without AC) from Delhi to Chandigarh. The average each time was better than 23.5 kmpl. The trick was to drive art steady 60 kmph with the techo at 1600 to 1700 rpm.
Ride Quality & Handling Very comfortable without any seat enhencements. Good handling even in Karol bagh and worse areas of Delhi.
Final Words With a car like this who needs a diesel car. Good average, good handling, comfortable to drive and be driven. What else do you want in a car?
Areas of improvement Please increase the ground clearance and loosen the horn button.
The most fantastic fuel average it has. Comfortable, easy to handle under trying conditions and a gFor this wheel base the ground clearance is too low and the horn button is too tight.
