Honda Brio, my first ever car, zeroed out after a lot of research and test drives. I learnt driving just a month before buying Brio and I can tell you that I couldn't have chosen a better car. Smooth steering, small turning radius, excellent visibility makes Honda a very easy car to drive.
I decided to buy Brio after getting a test drive by Magnum Honda, Kankpura road, Bangalore.
Three reasons to pick a Honda Brio -
~ Very spacious inside, yes, with good leg space too.
~ Max power of 87 bhp and good mileage(13-14 kmpl in city)
~ And ofcourse the killer looks!
I decided to pick the S(MT) Model which comes without ABS and SRS airbags. Magnum Honda refused to give me any discount although their sales representatives promised quite a few during the test drive. I was extremely disappointed with this treatment and would want Honda team to take note of this. The service and response was good and prompt from the reps otherwise.
Note - This is my honest feedback, so I would like to mention all the pros and cons.
It is a sheer treat to drive Brio. The comfort is magnificent and smoothness is just unmatched in this segment. The extra features like steering mounted controls, mileage indicator and eco light makes life easy. Although I think Honda could have done a better job with the gear box in terms of smoothness. Boot space is small but designed smartly since its deep enough and the luggage can be placed vertically.
Few things Honda can improve on -
The mileage initially was frozen on 9 kmpl which is much lesser than what was promised. I expected it to improve as I reached closer to 1st servicing but it did not move beyond 10.8. I did raise this concern with the engineers at Magnum Honda service station but to my surprise, got a shocker from them. The engineers mentioned that the mileage of Brio will remain around this and not go up as that's how much is expected of Brio. However, this is not what the sales representatives promised! The car is 3 months and 2500 kms old but the mileage is still around that. I agree I have driven it in Bangalore city traffic but you can't be happy with a mileage of 10.8 with a car which promises 18.4 kmpl on highways.
I hope to get an answer from Honda regarding this.
Overall I am happy with the car, it's "good". The only difference between 'good' and 'very good' here is the mileage.
