Honda Amaze it isn't amazing like that.I am also one of the happy customer of Honda until driving a hill or ascent.Amaze can't overcome ascents. Its the only issue i found since driving 3000km,which is not an acceptable issue. When i contacted Honda they said its handed over to dealer, but the dealer informed Honda that they didn't find any abnormality in my car which they accepted that Amaze has power issue and its for maintaining mileage once i was there at showroom. And when i asked dealer about their reply to Honda they said its made like that they can't tell this to Honda,if we want to ride hills we must choose another vehicle and they can't fit same Honda engine on both boat and car(just imagine my situation hearing this kind of reply from dealers).Really pathetic situation. So, dear brothers and sisters please don't buy amaze petrol. If you like Amaze go for diesel. All other features in amaze are good.I choose petrol because i am not aware of this power issue and now suffering for my choice. My bad i have test driven Amaze but not on an ascents. When you people ask sales person about this power issue they will reply there is nothing like that, better have a test drive with the same sales person on a hill or ascent and ask him to stop car in middle and then move, you can experience what i was saying about.

Honda amaze is a small big car suitable for a small family with kids and parents. It’s spacious with good interiors. AC is ok like not of Honda brand quality. Rest all good. Suits for my budget. I am getting a luxurious car fitting in my budget and also fits in my policy of NO LUXURY ON LOANS which means I don’t have to get loan .

I had purchased Honda Amaze top of the line ivtec 1.2 vx petrol on 23 may 2018 and since then it has only given me regrets. Its been a terrible experience from the delivery of the car to the ownership. On the day of the delivery of the car , when i took the car out of the showroom its steering became hard and epas warning was coming. The salesperson then called me to get the car back and said that there is some software scanning problem and after scanning for sometime said that it is now ok. We insisted on replacing the car at the time of delivery itself as we knew that it was faulty but was being forced by the dealership guys that it won't give you problems in future. On the same evening itself after 1-2 hours the same problem came and on contacting the dealership guys, they asked us to come the next day. Next day came and we were sitting in the showroom like fools waiting for our car to be repaired , a brand new car getting repaired. Then after some research we were informed that the whole steering column is faulty and it needs to be replaced and to our surprise it was not in their stock. So we were given another 'appointment' by the company to come after 4 days. The steering column was then replaced only to be replaced for the second time after this replacement because the first steering column fitted into our as a replacement was from the old generation amaze which we came to know later and were not preinformed about this before replacement. This was the initial buying experience. Now the terrible ownership experience starts. There is one thing which has not been resolved by the company till date. The car has some underbody noise while driving, be it on a simple road with few potholes or an extremely bad road. It feels as if you are driving a used car and not a new one. I have visited the dealership 40 to 50 times in the last 10 months and its there in their record. After constant complaining the company has changed the suspension, bushes, suspension arms, axel rods and what not but the noise is still persistent. They have withdrawn themselves from this and have said that "this is the best we can do" . But ultimately it is the customer who has to bear the grunt of buying this car just because we have shown trust on Honda. The last option which i was left with and which i ultimately did is i have dragged them to consumer court and served a notice to the company waiting for the things to unfold and regretting my decision of buying this car. And please note that i have rated the car well in the departments where it scores well as can be evident from the above ratings. But these cannot overshadow the problems which this car is giving from the day 1.

Thirteen Reasons Why might be a great Netflix series but the question that I was frequently asking until a few days back was "Thirteen Years, why?" You see our Alto just got into its thirteenth year and I am sorry but 47 bhp and a hatchback body style were just not doing justice to the connoisseur in me. It needed a replacement and fast. So when I had the opportunity to take the keys of the all-new Honda Amaze, I grabbed it. The Amaze had the task of proving itself under my scrutiny but more importantly, it had to convince my Alto-loving family what a good car really is. The Amaze that I had was the top-spec VX variant which comes with keyless entry. It saves a lot of time as you don't have to fiddle with the keys. It also feels like luxury compared to the lift-up door unlock in our ancient Alto. Once inside, you have keyless go, so you press a button and are ready to drive. But before we go anywhere a word on the car's design. I think it looks terrific. Save the Tata Tigor, I have never seen a compact sedan look so brilliantly proportionate. The Amaze also has elements from bigger Hondas in its design. The grille and the taillights look similar to the one in the Civic. The interior is just as impressive. It looks and feels premium. I particularly liked the CR-Vesque design of the aircon vents. What I didn't like was the rubber base for the gear lever. It looks out of place in an otherwise good cabin and reminds me of my old Alto. Nonetheless, both the exteriors and the interiors get a thumbs up from my side. I had the familiar 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine for the test. Sure, the diesel CVT is making all the news but I was glad I had the petrol manual. I feel buying a diesel Honda is a bit like going to a south Indian restaurant and asking if they have Manchurian. Just doesn't feel appropriate. The petrol engine is creamy smooth and very refined at low speeds. It is potent in the bottom end but more than anything else it is rev happy. So much so that I always enjoyed taking off from a green signal. The peppy nature of the engine did make that otherwise mundane city commute quite fun. The gearbox is not as soulful as in some Hondas but the clutch is light and the shifts are precise. The engine produces 88bhp but a modest 110nm of torque. The torque deficit is certainly apparent out on the highways. On the routine Mumbai run, the engine felt a bit worked up, thanks to its somewhat flat midrange. The engine works well at cruising speeds but an urgent overtake demands a downshift. The high-speed stability could have been better too. That said what blew me completely was the car's ride quality. The way it smothered the perennial under construction roads of Pune was noteworthy. The ride is flat and there is a maturity to it that one normally associates with bigger and more expensive cars. I just wish it had increased stiffness at higher speeds. The seat comfort and the driving position are both spot-on. Driving the Amaze during the pre-Ganpati preparations in the heart of Pune was quite a test for the car. But it passed with flying colors. With its responsive engine, light clutch and communicative steering, maneuvering the car in the thick of traffic was a cakewalk. In fact, the handling deserves a mention. I like the steering which feels connected to the road and the Amaze gives you a sense of confidence even at high-speed cornering. For the time I had in the Amaze, I loved it. But as I mentioned the real test was with the family. Afterall they were the ones who were to decide if that aging Alto needed a replacement or not. To start with, my family members were not very impressed. They were fine with the design, just not as excited as I was. For someone who passionately hates the grille on Lexus' cars, I was not expecting my dad to like the one on the Amaze. And he didn't. He felt it was too big and too pronounced for a small car. My mom viewed the car in a more positive light. She loved the fastback like sloping roofline and the design of the alloys. The interiors garnered much praise. Dad found a liking for the high mounted dash. My grandparents didn't complain too much because it was easy for them to get in and out of the car. My mom who is into textiles appreciated the fabric quality of the seats. But she had a question regarding the beige theme of the Amaze. She looked at me and asked, "What if clumsy people (meaning me) spill an entire cappuccino on the way home?". I nodded in approval. The ride quality and the aircon were universally loved. My dad liked the chassis of the Amaze and he told me that the whole experience of driving the Amaze was 'like a luxury car'. My grandparents found the backseat supremely comfortable and admired the generous legroom. My mom loved the boot which swallowed our weekend luggage comfortably. The touchscreen infotainment system was extensively used by the younger chaps in our family. "It responds as fast as our smartphones" they giggled. My car-impaired cousins thought that the Amaze and the Accord use the same engine. I explained to them that the engine used in the Amaze was exactly half in capacity compared to the one used in the Accord. They looked at me in sheer astonishment when I added the price of the car. Indeed, the Amaze is a lot of car for the money. For the 970 kilometers and three weeks, it was with us, it created the magic. When the day came to hand back the keys of the Amaze, I looked at everyone with high hopes. But with the way, they were looking at the car, I knew the answer. It was just a matter of seconds before dad said a resonating 'Yes' to the much-needed Alto replacement. The Amaze had created an impression on my family and believe me it is a bigger achievement than any road test rating. But I am not going to stop here. In a few months' time, Honda is going to launch the Civic. It is one car that I am really looking forward to. I will get the keys of that one too and who knows we might just replace our yet-to-arrive Amaze for the Civic. Because in life one should never settle for something small and always climb higher!

      Exterior Overall: Positive feeling.

      Pros:

Everything is perfect when it comes to exterios

      Cons:

      1. Bumper plastic material is not good as compared to old amaze.

      2. Tail lamps opn the bonet is just a showoff its not a true ligting.

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)

      1. plastic buttons on stareing wheel is cheap.

      2. No Rare AC vents

      3. Garebox knob is absoultely cheap, looks like a old age bus gare box.

      4. start/stop button is hidden under the hood of stareing. Driver has to bend towards right to see its status

      5. Width of the seats both in front & back are small

      6. Definately not spacious for the rare seaters.

      7. Rare seat windows end in depth that means it blocks people to comfortably move in and move out of the car. It may hit your head if you dont bend.

      8.  finsit at the back boot internal is just worse... Openup the boot and you see even the lid of a ketchup is great than amaze.

      9. Very cheap navigation system.

      10. No leather seats for highend.

      11. Alloys are just a ok looks dont give that real alloy feel outlooks

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox

      1.  Driving was ok you cant compare with sedan. Not worthy of its price.

      2. May be the car i drove had a issue but Gear box weasnt friendly when switching the gare. CVT was comparitively better by its smooth operations.

      Ride Quality & Handling

      1. Cheap cheap cheap... The shock sensing insite is worse.. dissatisfied on how honda built this for an indian roads.

      2. Its a ok driving not so great not so worst as well.

Final Words Honda has not done justice for its brand name. I was expecting allot most basics to be approriately addressed but too cheap. The pricing is not fair.

Areas of improvement May opporutnieis to look at based on the detailed cons i have mentioned.

      1. Car with great impressive looks and bold exterior finish.Many... Not spacious for rare seating. No rare AC vents. Cheap Gear know material, Low rare window

The big mistake I did was buying this car. When I was driving this car few weeks ago to a new city it was broke down all of sudden on a road, I tried to contact customer care for helming me to contact near by service centre as I was new to that city. The response was very pathetic as I have not opted for road side assistance they are not willing to help me. Finally after all troubles I could able to manage to get a nearby service centre and they attended the problem and they confirm that it is having a fuel pump malfunction and I will take a minimum of a month to replace it. I was a very hot sunny day in Vijayawada city. Really a nightmare to family to wait on the road for 5 hours to get the service person and finally they said it can not be rectified. And no assistance provided even to reach service centre. I sent my family in other cab back to Hyderabad cancelling our personal trip in dispointment. Finely car was towed and took to the service centre and found few more cars with the same problem lying in service yard for few months. I understood this is not the problem only with my car this is recurrent problem but Honda don't want to recall or address the issue. After lot of discussions the car was faulty pump was replaced and delivered after 10 days. But very annoying thing is nobody called to take the feed back of the car. Imagine the quality of car and service provided by Honda. Apart from the above problem as many people pointed out the engine is very leathegic in power at 1 and 2 gears even in the road slope is 10% and and on flyovers. Gear box is very cheap and worst quality. Vibrates a lot while revere it at 1st gear as if it is pulling some hundreds of weight even at no load except driver

After a couple of months research on compact sedan petrol options I finally ended up for Amaze VX petrol version and bought it last month, I was quite impressed by the look, silent cabin during driving, decent power delivery, the rear legroom, quality interior, segment best boot space, so fix mount etc But on the very next day of purchase i noticed a power lagging while negotiating a steep and thought that it may be since I am not hitting accelerator too hard, but it was June st an indication about the real issue of the car, I was literally shocked when the car was not able to ascent on a steep when I had stop in between and proceed, the car was not able to move further with 5 pax, I approached the dealer and service person told me that its a common complaint they are getting from every petrol car owners and they can do nothing, and they don't recommend it on a hilly roads, since its a common issue in every car they cant treat it as a complaint !! I wrote to Honda also but all in vain, I bought it for my wife and she is afraid to drive the car So I strongly recommend to everyone who plans to buy an amaze petrol to test on a steep and then only make a decision, else you have to regret about buying a car having all the features you wanted except the basic requirement: a safe and tension free ride on roads
