Honda Amaze is best in compact sedan class and after all its HONDA you will get the most deserving price for re-sell. I am using this vehicle since 2015 and till now it drives like butter on bread and it also comes in diesel engine variant which is more pocket friendly for daily usage ! After all people always want more value for money products in life

      Exterior Poor paint quality.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Carpet is not laid up properly and exposes many areas.

The designers have not given attention on where to keep mobile inside car. Even the cup holders near hand brake are fully circular without any pocket and bigger mobiles cannot be accomodated in the cup holders. A simple slot (=) between cup holders (like in any of the Maruti cars Alto 800 etc) would be enough to hold bigger mobiles between two cup holders.

Electricals are worst. Poor switch quality for interior lamp, unreliable player operation (resets clock and stored FM stations), unreliable centre locking.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine is reliable and fuel economy varies from 12 to 23 kmpl for petrol variant. Fuel economy is very sensitive to acceleration even in city conditions.

Gear is smooth except when in traffic if you have to choose beetween 1st and 2nd gear. The 2nd gear does not give pick up and 1st gear doesnt engage easily due to forward motion of vehicle.

Ride Quality & Handling Not good for hilly terrains. Only SUVs can meet your requirements if you plan to go on vacation to Ooty, Coorg, Kodaikanal etc. with full load (family and baggage).

Final Words Good only for light to moderate city usage; comfortable for long drives only if the road is National Highway type (4-6 lanes). Electricals and centre locking are unreliable.

      Areas of improvement

      1. Paint. The paint under bonnet is worst. Even within 3 years of usage in a dry region like bangalore, the body has started picking up rust at joints and fasteners.

      2. Ground clearance / suspension springs needs to be improved.

      3. Electricals needs to be reliable.

      4. Pl make provision to keep mobile phone atleast near the hand brakes.

      5. For long drives, the elbow should rest on the door conveniently. The ergonomics needs improvement.

      6. Pl use good quality of parts and improve the workmanship. The hose for supplying water to windscreen went bad within 3 years. The windscreen wiper went bad within 2 years!!! The parts and joints/ fasteners should not start rusting so early within 3 years of use in city like Bangalore.

Fuel economyGround clearance is worst esp on Bangalore humps. The chassis touches speed breaker.

I have driven close to 58,000 Kms in over 4 years. The engine is absolutely smooth, a bueaty from Honda. When I purchased the car in 2013, many times I didnt know if the ignition was ON or OFF! such low was the engine noice. The interiors are spacious, the gadjets inside are optimum, AC effect is good. Driving on highway at a speed of 75- 80 KMPH, I get a mileage of 19 KMPL without AC and about 18 KMPL with AC. In city driving, the average mileage with AC on is about 15 to 16 KMPL. The steering is very precisie and sensitive, the turning radius of the car is only 4.5m thus we can easily take a turn in short roads as well.

CONs- In my opinion, the gear shift from 1 to 2nd gear could have been smoother. But over a period of time we get used to it and its not an issue.

Overall, this is a good car, great value for money!! Go for it.

Bad and prohibiting expensive servicing by BD Automobiles, Taratala. The original paint job is so poor that the paint came off on brushing against a cloth covered bamboo. At 30,000 km the car rims have rusted and air is leaking out of the tyres.

That is the quality of servicing at BD Automobiles, Taratala, from where I have done every servicing every six months or more. For changing wire housing of ac they were asking for Rs. 10,000/-. The reports of other service agents are equally bad. Also, my service book was not returned after servicing by BD Automobiles.

Honda is letting its servicing agents loot the consumers. Not expected of a Japanese car company. Will never recommend a Honda car to anyone.

Value for money and this car is smoother than Dzire,Xcent,Ameo,Aspire. So, anybody can buy this car for comfortable driving experience in this segment. Engine noise is very less you can know when you test drive this car either petrol or diesel. Pickup is best in class this car easily gets triple digit speed 150-160 kmph within 15 seconds My car meilage is 19.5 kmpl (petrol)in highway and 16kmpl in city.

Honda Amaze remains true to the Honda's legacy of being a reliable and frugal car. From the buying experience to regular servicing, the dealership offers a decent experience with well trained staff answering all your questions patiently. After purchase and after servicing - you get a call from Honda directly enquiring about the experience with the dealer and It seems to keep the dealers on their toes as well. Scoring the dealer a 9 out of 10 also has the dealership calling you frantically if anything went wrong. Honda's iVTec petrol engines are legendary and are known for its refinement. In the Amaze, the engine lets you go up to 140 Kmph with 2 to 3 people on board. When you have 5 passengers and a full boot of luggage - you will find yourself struggling to reach 120 Kmph. This kind of engine tune has its benefits - you can get 15 Kmpl of mileage even when you push the engine hard. If you maintain 80-100 Kmph- you can even get 18 Kmpl. But be careful when driving at high speeds - the brakes are a big let down. The S iVTec has no ABS and chances are you'll skid and slide trying to brake hard even while cruising at 80 Kmph. The cars is quite comfortable for city as well as long drives. The seating posture and leg space are similar (or in some cases better) than cars from one segment above. The Japanese cars differ in quality from their European counterparts mainly on the build quality. The cars are lighter and so have better fuel efficiency, but the noise while slamming a door shut, or the tinny sound inside the cabin when in a rain are not confidence inspiring. There are many small compromises that Honda seems to have made to keep the costs low: 1. The wind shield is not heat deflecting. So half an hour in the sun, and the car is like an oven and takes an hour or more to cool down. 2. The electricals are flimsy. My reading light switch has loose contact in a year, the headlight stopped working in 3 years. 3. The small fuel tank (35L) means you will visit the fuel station more often 4. The Music player only supports USB Drive of 32 GB Capacity. 5. The aircon seems inefficient when parked in Sun 6. The noise deadening is not that great Inspite of these downsides, Honda Amaze is still value for money! Go for it, if you are looking for a car under 8 Lakhs.
