Exterior Exterior luks pretty elegant n classy.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Interior is spacious enough with adequate leg space. The quality of the plastics used are not up to the mark. Lacks certain features like USB n Bluetooth connectivity,CD changer n Steering mounted controls.In total it doesnt gives that posh superior looks even in high end models.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox The model which I test drove was Diesel Highline n trust me it was awesome, splendid n unbelivably good. I really got that german feel when i drove it. Vento has got amazingly great acceleration n pick up. Its handling n gear shifting were so smooth n effortless, I just simply loved it.Diesel Highline is much more powerful than petrol Highline. I would say its performance is so German.The company promises 20 km per ltr for diesel varients so we can expect atleast 17 km/ltr which is a great deal.
Ride Quality & Handling Superior ride quality and comfort for both front n rear passengers. Its ground clearance is truely amazing.
Final Words Vento Diesel Highline is the Shiznit, a real Kick-Ass ride! And guess what ??? I booked it on the day I test drove it. I just cant wait to get my hands on its wheel :).
Areas of improvement Interior looks, controls on steering, music system with more features.

I recommend not buying any Volkswagen car. There are no expertises to identify the problem at one shot. We need to take the vehicle to the service center at least twice to listen to the issue. My case is really worst. I have taken my vehicle (Vento comfortline TDI) for more than 5 times (In two service centers in Chennai), but still the issue of coil blinking and tap symbol glow is not yet be resolved. When this happens vehicle’s pull gets reduced. When if this issue happens at run time when driving at hight speed in NH, Or over taking in the highway. Nowadays I am not taking my vehicle for a longdrive. Also there is not proper response from the service advisor. Now I am planning to sell my vento (only 8 months). So think before buying.

I was among the first to buy a Vento Highline Petrol in Mumbai. I had been watching this car for quite some time and comparing it with competitors like Honda City, Hyundai Verna, Maruti SX4, Ford Fiesta and Fial Linea. I took a calculated risk by ignoring all the other known brands in India and going for a new, untested model. My experience, one week after I bought this car. Its an amazing car and good value for money.
It looks good, drives well, has a smooth and powerful engine and is comfortable from inside. Whats more, it is also reasonably priced when compared to its nearest competitor, the Honda City. Moreover, one should not forget that its a Volkswagen, one of the leading car brands world-wide. German engineering at its best. Small details like having the petrol flap on the side of the driver, so that he can monitor the petrol being filled, rear A/c vent, to name a couple are useful features.
Ofcourse there are some niggles. How can you have a music system without a USB port in these times of ipods and pen drives, the rear windscreen is at a bit of a flat angle and slightly restricts vision and the staff at the dealers are a bit too cocky. As if they know they have a great product that will sell without much effort. Fuel efficiency is yet too be tested, but is supposed tyo be less than the City. Also one week after buying the car, there is still no sign of the accessories, even the basics like mud flaps, floor mats etc.
Having said that, which car is perfect. Even the Mercedes and BMWs have some flaws. The bottom line to all those who want to buy a car in this segment. It just cant get better than the Volkswagen Vento. Competitors have started offering freebies like some accessories, free insurance for the first year etc, but at the end of the day, its the basic quality of the car that matters. And here, its difficult for the competitors to match the Vento. One week after having bought the Vento, I am one happy and proud owner. And just to add at the first visit to the petrol pump to tank up the Vento, the attendant gave an admiring look at the car and said....' Saab, kya gaadi hai, Honda City ka market to aadha ho jai gaa.'

Exterior is excellent, nothing that I dint like about this car, looks a wonderful car.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Well built and the quality is also good for plastics and nice feature of rear vents and automatic control ac.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine lacks power punch,has to be pushed to the max for speed greater than 120.engine lacks power.
Ride Quality & Handling Ride quality below 120 is v good. Vento HAS A BIG BIG FAULT. ITS STEERING DRIFTS TOWARDS LEFT, AND VW PEOPLE HAVE NO SATISFACTORY ANSWER TO THAT, THEY SAY ITS DUE TO INDIAN ROAD CONDITIONS. WE HAVE NO OTHER CAR THAT DOES THIS, SO, ITS A FAILURE, NO ONE WILL LIKE BUYING WHEN THIS HAS SUCH BIG FAULT, I ALMOST BOUGHT THIS CAR UNTIL I TEST DROVE AND KNEW THIS FAULT, I OWN A CITY NOW, THANK GOD I CAUGHT THIS FAULT.
Final Words DONT BUY UNTIL U TEST DRIVE AND FIND THIS FAULT ON YOUR OWN.
Areas of improvement PICK UP AT HIGHER SPEEDS, AND THE STEERING DRIFT.

I am very happy with the car. My wife is also happy and feels confirtable to drive in city. My daughter feels that vento is good for her to drive also as it is automatic.It is better than Honda technology. Interior is any time better than Honda. This a typical German class at best price. Car has very good weight as compared to Honda,maruti and hundai. Now goto safety aspect of the car.Two air bags are ok but two more on rear sides would have been advantageous but as car built is very strongly therefore to drive at 100 km per hr is also safe and passengers or family members do not feel discomfort at high speeds on Indian roads. Dealers are not yet capable to giver after sales support which is a concern and here Honda,maruti and hundai are the best. Vento is a best deal and I suggest you must buy.
Amazing driving comfort as well interior of car. We are very happy with vento and value for moneyWeek dealer support will reduce market share as compared to Honda and Germans must review this asap

Exterior It looks very sober and can turn heads. Solid build, though does not have any macho road precense.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) The plastics are very good, no cheap stuff. Front and rear seating are very comfortable. Lot of lights and information on the dash. Does not have steering mounted controls.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox There is no argument on this engine performance. It roars to life and driving is a breeze. There is negligible turbo lag as compared to other diesel cars. Gives anywhere between 19 or 20 to the litre. The gears are smooth as silk and best in class. No gear change required while overtaking.
Ride Quality & Handling Have to get used to the tight clutch. There is spurt of power while pressing the clutch. With a diesel engine and sturdy built car the steering is too smooth and should have been a hydraulic one instead of an elctronic built.
Final Words It is a beauty and one grows with the car. there is no competetion as far as power and fuel economy is concerned in this segment. Overall a great experience and fun to drive.

I am a user of Honda city for the last 6years , and i wanted to change my car and hence looked at vokswagan vento as my choice. On the web site when i checked for test drive within 10 minutes there was a response and the person took my contact details. My first impression was great. Then the salesperson from the dealer ship in hosur road, bangalore called me to fix appointment. I had sought for an appointment on a saturday at 4 PM , the response was SORRY WE DONT OFFER TEST DRIVES ON SATURDAYS AND SUNDAYS. I was shoched to hear the response. I dont want to waste my leaves for the purchase of car visiting dealerships to have test drive on week days.I wrote a feedback to the company websit. It is almost 15 daysthere is no response from the company till date. Surprisingly thedealership salesperson called me two days before expressing to book the car, I was just laughing on the behavior. I think the company nor the dealership dont have care for the buyers. My opinion they are laughing stock.

We had purchased vento deisal on 18/5/2012 and we rec.vibration problem in car last month, we had given car at company's workshop on 14/9/2012 and since today we yetnot received our car back, they r doing R&D on our new car and says sometimes wehave to change head of engine and sometimes we have to change gasket and passing time, they dont know when our car will be o.k.giving no time and we r facing problem after paying 9.51 lacs behind this car, so never go for any volks wagen car as there is a problem of after sales service and workshop engineer staff has to mail to vw for problem and then they replies and after their reply local area person work and then if problem not solved he has to do agian mail to vw,so many times kills during this excercise, so ultimately customer suffers, so never go for volks wagen car very poor bad experiance.

Company Warranty - I have booked the car on 31st Mar 2011, however I took the delivery on 21st April 2011. Any thing you purchased from market, Warranty should start from day of Delivery, However as per VW policy Warranty starts from day of booking.
in VW Vento, A/c vents are of worst quality, I have already replaced them twice and whenever I took that in service centre to replace It always took 2-3 weeks as the part is never available with garriage.
This time also I called the service center and request to arrange the new AC vent for replacement, I was advised to wait for 1 week. Now this week when I took my car at service center, they are saying car's warranty has expired 4 days back as my car's booking date was 31st March 2011. I tried to convince that delivery date is 21st April 2011 so my 2 years company's warranty ideally should be till 210th Apr 2013. But then Service Manager of Tornado Motors' Andheri (E), Mr Amit, he was like dumb terminal, was giving only one answer Nothing can be done, what ever I was trying to tell him, he had only one answer, Nothing can be done, Nothing can be done.
i would like to warn all the VW Vento aspirer, Car is good, but it's kind of white elephant, small small parts cost you bomb. My car is just 2 years old & driven hardly 15,000 KM, still in this service my Bill was more than Rs. 25,000/- for replacing petty things.
There are no free services offered by Volks Wagen, and for every service you should be ready to light your pocket by 25K to 30K, unfortunately if you actually damaged your car then bill may shoot up even more than Rs. 1lac. Just plastic wheel cover for any other car you get for Rs. 100-Rs. 200 for Volks Wagen cost is Rs. 1200/- for one wheel.
