Exterior The look of the car is extremly good. This looks a very smart car and the press lines give it a magnificient look.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) The dual tone interiors are quiet pleasent. The steering wheel design too looks good. The space utilization though is not proper.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox The pickup for a 1.6L engine is rather low. The car does not kicks off on pushing the pedal. The pick up comes only after a few seconds. Fuel economy is poor, ranging from 8 kms in city to 15 kms on highways.
Ride Quality & Handling Ride quality is good, the suspensions are a little hard. The steering handling is extremly good. The steering is very sensitive and very light.
Final Words The dealer though projects a waiting time of 3 months, but you will realise upon booking that you can get the delivery in 10 days also. I suppose they want to keep up the hype that they are over booked.
I bought my car in November and have driven the car for almost 5000 kms. Since day one there has been one or the other problem in the car. Starting from Power windows getting stuck, either driver side or pillion side, to rattling sound from the rear tray and doors. I have been visiting the service workshop almost once in 15 days. This is pathetic considering the brand VW. I never expected the car doors to start ratelling after 1000 kms. The service staff say that they have observed this problem in other cars too and do not have a solution yet. Every time I go to them, they tighten some screws which only reduces the sound for a few days and the rattling keeps coming back. The rear tray rattling has no solution except padding it with foam which slips every now and then to bring back the irritating sound in the cabin. The power windows still get stuck some times but the guys have no permanent solution. I do not know what will happen after 15-20000 kms of running if the new car has so many problems.
Surely, the quality of car is not value for money.
Areas of improvement Doors do not get locked from inside and any one can mistakenly open the doors during running causing serious harm. Even a low end car has this option of door lock, then why not a VW Sedan. Over all quality of fittings needs to be improved.

Exterior Exteriour looks fine sideways, but from front looks cant figure out if it's polo or vento with ease. Use of chrome is very nice. Angled side profile (30% front and 70% side) does not look good and car feels like attached boot to polo. B piller is nice thought without at gaps. Paint job is top notch. Doors close and open nicely and enough of lines on body give good character. IMHO car should be given twin head lamps or headlamps like civic to give different look.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Steering wheel is good to hold, Nice and soft seats gives premium feel. Front arm rest is terrible as it obstructs while shiting from 5th to 4th or 3rd to second. Total ergonomic failiure. I feel dash is bit on higher side for short people. I found it's okay to me (i am 5' 10"). Seats in front are comfortable and hand rest on door is spot on.
Some thing at rear which dissapoints me a bit. If you wear those boots and you sit at rear as third passagner then getting out of car will be tough job for you. (My advice: remove boots and get out). Rear arm rest is nice too. Rear AC vent cn be adjusted from frot and cannot be closed. Lot of space in door pockets.
I found rear seats tad low to my liking being called comfortable. However for short people it will serve nice. Rear seats are bumpy during the ride may be due to soft suspension(diesel and petrol). you see occasional oscilltions if taken bit fast on humps(bangalore speedbreakers). Also there is bit of oscillations in front too. with 5 people on board car can scrap bottom on speedbreakers (tried in bangalore). Road noise is absent but then depends on road. engine noise is absent at low RPM's. but one does feel clatter if driven with rolled down glass.
Bad music system. Too much bass and with all tweakings one cannot get satisfied sound (I work in audio field with expirience of over 5 years). But then sound is much to liking of individual. Of course it is much beter then what we used to get 7 years back budget music system.
Nice horn somthing which you will not mind if someone honked you from behind :) Overall nice car for strictly 4 and occsional 5.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox This is where the car shines (diesel). This car is very easy to drive in city with that low end torque and car pulls effortlessly. However turbo lag is felt if you press gas padel but not much to break the deal. Gearing rations are spot and engine does not feel strained perfect for city driving. Economy in city should be anywhre between 14 to 15 (I mean strictly in City). Car is easy to steer and can be parked with ease (You do require parking sensor's). Engine soud is coarse from outside and feels like amy diesel or matadoor. Not nice if you want to park the car at night in your appartment.
Ride Quality & Handling Ride quality is very nice at low speeds and at high speeds there is some bit of body roll. Now this is subjective. If you have expirience of driving car with has great dynamics while cornering (like fiats and fiesta's) then you will observe this bodyroll and nose dive on breaking. But then you have migrated from wagonar or old verna to this then you might feel this car handle's best.
However most of the body roll and soft suspension will not hurt normal driving or even on higways. Humans do tend to get use to and learn quickly.
Final Words I recomend this car to all the people who needs effortless driving, some brand value of VW, sheer power. But those who are budget minded I believe they should stay away from this as After sale service is not proven and if it turns out to be Skoda ways then can potentially create problem.
After market accesories:-
1. Sun film on all windows is must for AC to be very effective (chill).
2. rear parking sensors are must.
3. HU is something you will like to change (optional and i will leave it o individual taste)
Areas of improvement
1. Make the engine dB levels to low, we need car and not tractor.
2. HU is total mess. either give good choice for HU or have comfortline with ABS and EBD and no head unit and other accesories.
3. Clutch grinding noise is not qhat you expect from 11+ L. Kill it ASAP.
4. rear hump Aka trasmission tunnel, what is this doing in front wheel drive.
5. Car front looks need complete change.
6. Head lamps are not great at nights due to short throw change them to better one.
Reviewers exp with cars: I have extensively driven, Fiat palio, Swift, ford fiesta, OHC and wagonar to 400+ kms, Vento is owned by my close friend and we do share ride most of the times.

Exterior Very good looking car, the 5 year warranty on the body and the paint work is very impressive.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Good space. the foldable hand rest for the driver is nice for long rides but tends to come in the way of frequesnt gear changes for short hauls.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox The torque on the diesel is tremendous and makes overtaking a dream, am getting and average of 17 kms per litre in Goa, did an actual average by topping up the tank twice to check it out. Expect an average of 20 kms perlitre on the highway --- though I have not tried that.
Ride Quality & Handling Nice ride quality though it tends to make a nose on the suspension when hitting a hard bump. Handling is light and accurate though Iwould have prefered slightly more road feel.
Final Words Am very happy with my buy. Has lived up to my expectations.
Areas of improvement Could add better features like GPS and bluetooth as standard.

Dear sir,
I am DS Reddy, purchased vento 1.6 CR(MT) highline on 25/06/2011 vide temporary Registation no. OR02BP2310. The vehicle ran only for approximately 2300 KMS. On run at about 10.30 hrs on 28/06/2011, to my surprise I found that, steering hardened, breaks failed and display gone. fortunately, I was on outer ring road and there was no traffic and vehicle slowed down after some time, and engine was not starting. Vehicle towed to work shop at about 16.00 hrs on 28th July 2011. On my enquiry on the position of my vehicle, after completion of 24 hrs , they said that they still working on that and could not trace the fault. Finally after completion of 27 hrs , on our enquiry they said that the fuse of the vehicle has gone and we were forced to pay ab0ut Rs 1900/= to take delivery of my vehicle.. I am totally dissatisfied with the reply and time delay, on working of branded company like yours.

Exterior No fuss clean sturdy very many look.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Done only 4000 KM so far so good. Fuel economy is pathetic especialy on the Mumbai road with my Auto transmission.
Ride Quality & Handling Sturdy comfortable and no fuss. For back seat driving as well as for a weekend out of town a reliable (so far) sturdy car that gives a feeling of saftey and reasonable comfort.
Final Words Overal you must giv eit to the Germans to build a dependable sturdy safe car . I most driven around the back seats are comfortable and the a/c duct in the back a blesing.

Final Words Keyless Entry (Remote in VW Vento trendline, Breeze) is must for branded car. Giving Rs.40,000 worth accessories is not a great thing but the remote is an most essential one.. because now a days there is a remote lock even for maruthi 800.. so jus think of it. VW is loosing many customers for tis reason in tamilnadu. Remote is not a very big accessory in such a brand car. so VW team should think of it and make some positive need to customers. also VW should give this accessory to all basic model customers in free of cost. If not the Basic models in VW is totally waste.
Areas of improvement Remote locking, body styling, xenon head lamp, steering mounted controls, alloy wheels, fog lamp. Exterior should b same as highline. So u can get more customers.

Exterior Purchased flash red diesel vento which looks good and attractive. before buying it I short listed hyundai verna, sx4, xylo and vento. waiting for verna was 10 months so drop the idea. sx4 rear view is bad and c-pillar puts inderance in front view also the engine is slugish less pickup. so droped. xylo is comfortable but lacks of engine refinement and has very large vibrations of gear selector knob, so droped. then vento left and took test drive find it has all things which I was looking for.
The dealer's (world class volkswagen west delhi, moti nagar) staff is rude and non-cooperative however the product is good. however they have not given me test drive even requesting for six times on phone and personal visits. finally when i booked it for rs. 75000 they provide me test drive on trendline vento diesel which they are going to deliver to some customer. i went to purchase the highline model. they did not gave test drive on their demo/ test drive car. i too booked four times the test drive on internet of volkswagen site they called me on phone within 10 minutes of filling the details and forward the request to the dealer in delhi. till date (after 2 months) no dealer or volkswagen company has contacted me for the test drive.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Interiors looks descent with beig colour, leg space in rear seats good, rear AC vent is boom and it has a lever in co-passenger back seat by which it can be moved forward to creat leg space in rear. very much comfortable on broken indian roads and has almost no engine and road noise in cabin and no vibration.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine pick up is excellent and can overtake in any gear no need to shift gear in city traffic like delhi. the average I m getting in city is 16km/l with AC on. gearbox is smooth and has no vibration.
Ride Quality & Handling Very comfortable, stiff on low speed however smooth on high speed.
Final Words Great car and value for money if u r looking for a diesel car the go for it and price is took comfortable in its range with good built quality. good boot space of 480 liters.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Super cool arm rest with storage space. Seating is good as well, though there is no height-adjustment possible for the seats. Rear seats have large leg space. Boot space is good too. You must see how the boot is organized. The extra tire is packed with solid thermocol cushions making it vibration free. VW quality!
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine performance is superlative. Gears shift very smothly.
Ride Quality & Handling Ride quality is supreme. Better than that of Honda City (I drove a City for 4 years, before VW Vento). Ground clearance is good. Engine noise is just absent. Sometimes, you would not even know that the car's ignition is on. Stereo system is very good. The car runs well both within the city, as well as on highways.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine is very good. Gear box is excellent and far better than city honda, fludic, ford fiesta. If u drive without much throtle all the time and allow to run the vehicle smooth in clutch dis-engaged position or neutral gear - slide without applying breaks much - keep RPM 1000 - 1200, u must get + 17 KM / L on highway and +13 in city ( petrol ).

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Difficult to say that theres a diesel under the hood...its that quiet inside the car.The engine is efficient with a no-nonsense way of getting the thing done.Torque is really awesome,drove at 25km/hr in fourth with no engine knocking at all.Past the 1000 rpm mark it really zooms.
Ride Quality & Handling Awesome,suspension is fabulous,no bumps filter through on rough patches.
Final Words Got mine from OSL Exclusive in Kolkata.Dealer experience was very good.Got 20000 rs worth of free accessories.The on road price was 945000 but after doing the insurance myself and VW giving a further "doctor's discount"of Rs 12444 the onroad price came to Rs915000.all in all a good deal to me!The dealer showroom is really classy and sales reps are very helpful.The fuel economy is 13.5km/l but that is in the city,sure it will be higher on the highway and city economy will probably increase after the car has run a few thousand kms.
