      Exterior Looks are subjective but you wont be bored to see a 2011 POLO but not the same applies for i20.

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Best in class materials, I would say. It make 14L Honda City to feel shy on this area.

      It misses keyless entry feature of i20 but packs all premium features like Cruise control, Auto door lock, Auto pinch windows, Can roll down the window glasses using remote etc. It swallows potholes very nicely. You can cover 750 at a stretch without feeling fatigue.

      Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox 1st gear is very short but it needs only to move the car, in all other situations 2nd gear would do.

      FE - In Chennai city traffic I used to get 17 to 19. In morning times(without traffic) if I drive @80-90Km/hr it yields 20-24(really!! , i've snaps). At highways i used to cruise in 160 -180 Km/hr with 4 on board and FE is around 17-18(I've done 22000 Kms in 9 months). Unlike other cars Polo's FE dont drop drastically if we drive very fast.

      Ride Quality & Handling Mature ride and handling even at high speeds. But on some specific cornors we can feel the body roll which is very much contained in its elder bro Skoda Rapid. But still best handling car next to fiat and old generation Figo.

      Final Words You will never regret for chosing a POLO. It simply outclass all its rivals in every department(in spare parts cost too 😷

      Areas of improvement Rear legroom and the big hump.

      Never boring look. Fit and finish are top notch. Great FE for a 90PS car.Rear legroom and Hump. Like elite i20's rear AC,the hump make this car suitable for 4.

      Exterior Excellent exteriors the car looks classy.

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) The ineriors are good and the build qulaity is excellent, the cabin feels premium.

      Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox The car is for the driving enthusiast. I have used  dzire diesel and i20 diesel. The diesel engine performance of polo is class apart. Very stable at high speeds 130+ the car will grip the road. The overall fuel economy is little less. My Dzire used to give mileage of around 20 with mixed use and this gives mileage of around 17. Pick up is awesome and the engine is at its best between 1000 rpm to 4000 rpm. The stering is little tight when compared to i20 and dzire however gives more confidence at higher speeds, gear box is smooth clutch is little tight compared to Dzire and i20. The body and make quality is too good, very solid build, the sheet used is much better than maruti and hyundai, as soon as you will open the door you can feel the difference in the build quality, its the safest car in its segment.

      Ride Quality & Handling Ride quality is where this car stands apart from its rivals, its the best in its class at higher speeds you will not feel you are driving a hatch.

      Final Words The car can easily accomodate 4 adults and one Child 2-8 years, and drivability is just class apart. If you have a small famliy and you are looking for long drives with a budget of 9-10 lcs. look no further than polo diesel. Its the best performance and very very safe overall compared to its rivals. Other cars in the segment are not even close i20, Baleno and Jaaz (all diesel) are no where close (overall).

      Areas of improvement Back seat cant accomodate 3 adults.

      I was looking for highly stable and safe hatchback. I studied, watched and test drove almost all the good hatchback cars in the market and finally decided on polo because of its build stability. I bought the car in September 2016, that's the time when Ameo petrol was launched expecting diesel. So, the offering 50000 cash discount for Polo highline variant. The buying experience was average because I didn't had showroom in my district so I bought it from nearby City so I had to do a temp registration then a permanent registration in my town for which I need to pressure the showroom to help me with the permanent registration. In last three years I had driven 45,000 kilometres out of that drove 30,000 kilometre in first one year and also did to paid services within a year. So simply driving Polo is pleasure. I drove extensively in Chennai city and to my hometown in highway I also drove in hills like Yercaud, Kolli hills, Coorg, Kodaikanal. I never faced any issue in driving, once you start driving this car you will always have thirst to drive more. Exterior: it js a standard hatch with nothing to complain. The overall German finish of the car is impressive. Interior: Basically it has all that is expected in this budget. Material quality is a level higher than other cars in the segment. Audio quality is good. I haven't wrapped my seat with leather cover still it is in good shape without any tear. The headlamp and wiper switches are opposite to other brands. So while driving other cars you will be confused. Space: One of the main disadvantage of this car is space. Anybody who sits in the rear seat will complain every time because of the low seat height and lack of knee space. Also rear seat is best suited for two, third person will find extremely uncomfortable to travel. Boot: it officer decent capacity to carry a family's package. Seat folding is awkward it's better to keep the luggage on the seat instead of folding it. Engine: 1.5 litre Diesel engine is a good performer. There will be an initial lag till 1500 RPM, post that it will be buttery smooth. But on the outside it will sound like a tractor. Gearbox: it will take some time to get used to earth because of the reverse gear position but after that it will be so easy to use. But when there is a speed breaker or large path holes then you need to shift to 1st gear because 2nd will jam and stop. Ground Clearance: This is one car with low ground clearance and the segment. Initially it will hit bottom of the speed breaker, after sometime you will find a way to pass it slowly. Suspension: it is too soft for normal roads, but on highway you will feel more comfortable. Combination of soft suspension and low ground clearance will irritate anytime on enjoying drive. We need to be highly conscious when the car is fully loaded with luggage or passengers to avoid damaging the bottom. Service: it has service interval of 15000 km or 1 year. Two main problems 1) not many service centres 2) service cost will be minimum Rs.12,000. On my second service I had complaint of steering vibration during braking, so they changed both disc and pad of front which cost me Rs.8000 for spare and more than Rs.1000 for replacement labour charge. Mileage: On average I get 18 to 20 kilometre on highway and 10 to 12 kilometre on city with moderate traffic. Pros: 1) well built German car in the segment (anybody will love the solid sound while closing the doors). 2) highly stable car, I generally drive 120 + in highway and it won't fail to impress any time i step in. Cons: 1) Poor service network 2) Costly spares/service/maintenance Add-on Note: I am maintaining all the expenses for this cars like fuel, service and insurance renewal from the day of purchasing this car, with my data I spent Rs.4.5/km for fuel + Rs.1.25/km for service + Rs.1.8/km for insurance.

      1) Build Quality: Polo hasn't aged that bad. in fact it has no issues with its build quality! It has been simply superb! No rattles, except a minor squeaky sound from the air vent, which however is not persistent and isn't nagging either. The suspensions soak in the tarmac(if any) properly and ensure the drive is comfortable.

      2) Mileage: I drive my Polo very gently, which translates in a fuel economy of approx 14kmpl in a city and 18+ kmpl on highways with a/c. I guess, that's decent ,I am happy with it!

      3) Driving expericne : super handling across city , highways and ghat sections (forest drive=> long drives) 

      4) After Sales Service: I'm staying in Bangalore, i feel its overall aberage services (in terms of service and spare management) 

      Cons: 

      4) Engine Sound(Noise) while in cabin: 4) Engine Sound(Noise) while in cabin: I'm using the 1.5L TDI (Diesel)engine , it makes lot of noise while at high speeds and along with that the noise insulation is not good , can hear all wind blowings.

      Superb Build Quality, Awesome Handling, Steering response is fantastic, safest car in IndiaEngine Sound (Noise) is more, Noise insulation is not good, can hear wind sounds while driving 100+

      i bought VW Highline plus from Deccan Himayath Nagar - 2017 December . Driver comfort car , In Highway and Traffic , one can feel the Volkswagen's Engineering Skills . when car cruising at 160km/hour - passengers inside the car cannot feel the speed . Break control system is super , power steering makes the drive comfortable

      I am writing review after driving it almost 40k+ KM in 2.7 Years. First Impression. Before decided to buy Polo, I took test drive of Tata Zest Diesel, Hyundai Verna 1.4 ltr Diesel, but the experience I got from Polo I didn’t get from rest of 2. The drivability, control, pick up & built quality everything were just outstanding, So I went with Polo avoiding the constraint of rear seat leg room.

      Exterior: It’s just like all time beauty without aging, front steel grill & headlights are very attractive, from outside looking like a small Car, but actually not. Outside view is really good.

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort): Driver Seat & Front Seat is comfortable compare to rear, space in rear leg room is less & Rear AC Vent is also missing compare to competitors. I enjoyed essential features like Cruise Control, Rain Sensing Wiper, Auto dimming Rear view mirror, Driver Seat manual height adjustment, All 4 windows one touch up down button, Touch Screen music system missing GPS navigation, but we can connect 2 mobile at a time via Bluetooth 1 for Phone call & another for music, Telescopic Flat bottom Steering Wheel etc. I tried multiple time to connect mirror link enabled phones but didn’t succeed yet, getting error mirror link is not certified. Features like Apple Car play/Android auto is missing. Rear Sensors are working fine & convenient.

      Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox: Engine is pushing a lot after it crossed 1500 RPM. Engine is Little bit louder from outside. I crossed 180 mark easily on YExp. Way, multiple time I crossed 160 mark. Build quality & sound insulation is superb. Corning control is also good but needs to keep right pressure on type i.e. 32psi, otherwise little bit vibration observed on high tyre pressure. I drove for 1800 km in 2 days from Mumbai to Bhadrakh, Odisha after 1 night stay in Nagpur & also return back in 2 days without facing any issue during this period. Build quality is just fantastic, as Road condition is just terrible from Aurangabad to Amaravati with big big ghadhas. Fuel economy in city I measured is near about 15-17 Km & on Highways 18-20 km per liter with AC. If you drive with cruise control mileage getting around 20-21km. The best part of Manual Gearbox is its automatically picking up, means if your speed is 10 & you are in 3rd gear, just leave the paddle, its automatically picked up your speed to 20+, like this all gears are having defined speed if you leave the accelerator, 30km per hour in 4th & 40km per hour in 5th gears as well. Ride Quality & Handling Tilt & Telescopic Steering wheel is very convenient & responsive. Telescopic Steering is not very much essential, as legroom is small.

      Conclusion: Excellent Ride & Build Quality, Cornering control everything is just excellent except service quality.

      Improvement required: GPS navigating system & Service Quality. Service Quality is just pathetic.

      1. I want to buy a car in 2014 so i was bit confused which car i should go . I searched several.websites and i found carwale and i got the detail about the price, features ,average many more details . I went to showroom and i have seen honda city it was costing me 13 lakh but i was looking to buy hatch back so my second choice was polo but when i have taken test ride my first choice become polo . The sound of engine was impressive . 2. I have drived 36 thousand till now and on lucknow expressway ,yamuna express way , mathura expressway .. many more places i found the big thing is the power of engine . On highway its running like butter , 1500 cc engine makes the ride crazy and it is so much comfortable to drive . And interior is not so much modern but is simple and sober . You will not feel so bore . 3. Looks are cool aerodynamic , sporty look , performance is so gud i m so much impressed . 4 . Servicing cost ?12000 for 15000 km or one year so it is comparitively to other cars is quite good maruti cars cost 5000 for 2500 km . , Rest maintanance cost for parts are quite high because the quality of fibre is too gud as compare to baleno ,ciaz maruti cars . 5. Pros better fuel efficiency Heavy look Heavy engine Average of 24 on highway Cons Parts are costlier Insurance cost is high Paint cost is high And no more cons yet faced .. Overall car performance is good and reliable ... Till 4 years not a single problem faced .

      The car is amazing. No one compete in this segment. It’s very powerful and safe hatchback ever. Performance is awesome. But service and maintenance is very high. The service of car is higher than other brands like Maruti.

      Buying experience: Buying experience was good I just went through all the brands in hatch back segment and at last my decision was polo by its performance,looks, features and built in quality which made to choose this German engineered POLO.
      Riding experience: I own a polo highline diesel the confidence that you get while driving this car in low and high speeds is just impeccable and ya trust me on highways you will love this car.
      Details about looks, performance etc: Superb looks and superb performance in hatch back segment.
      Servicing and maintenance: Servicing cost is bit heavy when compared with other brands like Suzuki,Hyundai etc etc... but ya it’s for every 15,000 KMS
      Pros and Cons: Everything is fantastic except Servicing and spare parts cost
