Exterior
Neat lines, amazingly good looking from all angles. Neat layout of head and rear lamps. No portruding wheel arches (unlike swift and i-20) is classy. The paint finish and quality complements the excellence. I've been driving my Polo since last 5 months, and the car still shines. Panel gaps are consistent across the body. The car pays attention to details, which all panels are dampned to ensure no irritating rattling.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)
The dash layout is understated and elegant. It does not have the jazzy or 'cool' looks, but is pure class. It strikes chord with the matured who value function over fun. The plastics are hard though, and I wish it were soft. Front seats are very supportive and comfortable. Comfortline has height adjustable seats whereas the steering panel is adjustable for reach and rake. Getting a comfortable seating position is easy. Gear box is slick and gear shift smooth. Small gear throw for a diesel car is very welcome and comfortable to operate. The color combination is practical unlike all beige or all black layout. The quality and feel of operating levers, buttons, horn, gear is pleasing. For sure one does not feel bored or tired living with this layout.
On the flip side, the power window buttons are not illuminated and neither boast single touch function. The native seats get soiled very easily. The music system lacks usb support, which feels like unnecessary omission. I also miss the all 4 electic window buttons on driver side.
Ride Quality & Handling
Ride quality is very composed, and road undulations and bumps are absorbed with ease. Handling is good for the size of the car, though the power does not live up to exploit the dynamics.
Final Words
1.2 D is amazing value for money. Its a league above the existing japanese and korean makes and build to last. VW will very soon take over our heads and minds :-)
Did I forget to mention the economy? I get 20 - 21 KMPL in city driving with AC on 90% of the times.
Areas of improvement
Add features - single touch electric windows, illuminated power window buttons, remote locking. Bring the 1.4 diesel unit here.

Exterior Its a car designed brilliantly.. The design is very simple and will appeal for a decade. A simple word to describe about Polo design is "A CUTE AND NEAT CAR" in the segment.... Build Quality is excellent.. Fit and finish impeccable. No other cars in the price range can't match with Polo in terms of Build Quality, Fit and Finish. Paint quality is top notch. But the Front bumper is too low as compared to other cars, Chance to get damage.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Absolutely this is not a small car when you see the quality of materials used excellent, for this price we cannot get this good quality car from any another manufacturers. The front seats are very good and ideal for long drives. The boot is enough to load some 2-3 days 4 persons trips.. Quite descent and very good build quality
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox The engines available in the car are not the best in the segment... when i test drive the diesel car the engine has large amount of clatter and its clearly audible inside.. Very bad... Even the petrol has Vibrations and noise but the noise is well insulated... thanks for the insulation. but the vibration is there in the dash and gear lever.
Ride Quality & Handling Ride quality is awesome. It has very good handling. The car tackles all the potholes in the road. .What u can feel is that U are sitting in a class above car. As I drove the car in 170kmph. its so fun going on that speed and you feel inside that you are on 110 or 120kmph. Its easy to handle the car in the city. The steering is very light when it corners a bit hard. The car is good to handle the Indian roads.
Final Words The VW has a winner in its hands. VW is in the competitive market.. There are so many rivals for Polo. This car will create lots of memories. U can own this car for life time without any trouble. But you you should have the patience for the waiting period as you are going to get a good and better car.
Areas of improvement The Polo lacks in the Engine department and left out some essential features for the price, VW priced the Polo correctly(Diesel Polo is priced high not as good as SWIFT OR FIGO), VW should consider seriously to deliver the car as quick as possible otherwise people will go with some other cars as plenty of options are available.
Need to improve the engine (Add a cylinder and add 10 bhp for both the engines), Rear seat space (improve the wheelbase about 30mm), Correct the diesel car price(A bit high), Deliver the Car quickly, Adjust the Wiper, Change the spare tyre to 15inch for High line spec. And give some customization for every vehicle versions.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Good quality interior. feels a luxury car. space is better than swift and comfort is also far better than swift. rear seat can be completely foldable. Boot space is more than swift. leg room more than swift. head room is lesser than swift.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Little less power compare to swift, fuel consumption is better than swift. I drove my car with AC on dirty Ghat roads ( minumum 300 K/M was completely scrap road) for 400 K/ms and I got 15 KMPL apprx. Gear box is better than swift
Ride Quality & Handling Swift cannot stand in front of polo in ride quality and handling. I did not felt I'm driving in ghat sections. Turning radius is also good. sometimes I felt power is lesser than swift.
Final Words Best car with very few drawbacks. If you are looking a good looking luxury car with better fuel efficiency. Better go with Polo diesel.

Exterior Very good exteriors. Does not have a Japanese look as its other competitors. As of my opinion, the Polo has best in class looks.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) The new polo comfortline comes with remote key, one touch up and down windows, 15 inch steel wheels and there is another new feature that when you press an hold the remote lock button, all windows will raise for themselves. But the automatic central locking will be available only in Highline model.
The interior space is less. Will not be very suitable for people who are of above average height. But the seats provide very good comfort once you are seated properly. Getting in and sitting will be a little difficult for the ones above 5'6'' height.
The car is best suited for a four member family. Volkswagen has shown its European way of thinking in designing the interior space of the car.
It might have been better if VW has left the interiors for 4 rather than providing an extra seat belt so as to show off to others that they have designed the car for 5 with all safety features. The seatbelt locks give a horrible experience for the person seated in the middle.
Volkswagen provides dual tone interiors which gives a refreshing look compared to the competing vehicles. The car also comes with telescopic and tilt adjustable steering which provides good ergonomic comfort.
The comfortline model comes with height adjustable driver seat as well which adds to the comforts of the driver.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox The engine performance is not very good in the polo diesel. The engine has a very low pick up and makes it very hard to overtake long vehicles such as bus or trucks. Also the car finds it tough to climb hills with 5 average people seated. The 3 cylinder engine is to be blamed. If VW has given a 4 Cylinder engine, performance would have been on par with maruti Swift making Polo the best car to own.
The gear box is the best thing I liked about the car. Gear shift is as smooth as butter, especially after riding maruti’s for upto four years.
Fuel economy is not as promised by the showroom representatives. With A/C, the car provies a decent 14 KMPL in city and 20KMPL in the highways.
Ride Quality & Handling Ride quality & handling are the places where VW shows its German class. Rode across for a 600 KM ride on a single day with mediocre roads and never felt any tiredness. My father who is now 59, accompanied me for the trip also felt the same. This is the point where Polo can simply outrun any of its competitors.
When it comes to handling, the car sticks on so well to the road and even at 140 KMPH, you never feel as if you are speeding beyond your limit. The brakes also play their part in improving your confidence. Also, due to the 15 inch wheels that come as a part of the new polo, braking has been made more effective. In one instance had to bring down the speed from 90 KMPH to a standstill due to a fool on the road and believe me, the car never skid off control.
The Electronic power steering is a real smooth one and makes driving a pleasure.
Final Words The sales representatives need to have more knowledge on the features of the car. I was one of the first to buy the New version of Polo. I was promised that my music system will have an auxiliary port and it did not have one. The sales rep promised me that automatic central locking has been provide in the model but post delivery, was informed that automatic central locking will not work in Comfortline models.
Will personally not recommend this car to any one, not that the car is not good, but the sales network has horrible attitude.
Areas of improvement The sales force of VW must be more informed of the features in the car. Also when we get back to them after purchase of the vehicle, we get horrible responses.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox The heart or engine as we say is pretty responsive..you don't feel the car is underpowered. The turbo boost in 2nd & 3rd gear is pretty good.Fuel economy is a concern even in diesel but if you can drive as the gear shift indicator suggests you can achieve gr8 mileage.(i 'm getting somwhere arnd 12-14 kmpl). You don't feel that the car has a 3 cylinder engine,
Ride Quality & Handling Handling is pretty good. the car does'nt feel wobbly even at 110-120kph.
Final Words Good option if u r lukng for a diesel hatch. u might have a look on skoda's fabia same engine..but u will not get the styling of polo.
Areas of improvement REAR SEATS, FUEL ECONOMY &&&& More colour options on base varient. You get only the option of white or red in the base model.

Exterior No doubt about the stunning looks of Polo and the quality that went into building this machine.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Quality of interiros is good but with only power steering, A.C, central locking and only front two power windows.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Its a 3 cylinder 1.2 litre engine with 75 bhp power. THe power is good but in long run it cannot match the speed of swift or punto or any other car in its segment. However, VW should have compensated with good mileage atleast for the underpowered car. Gearbox and Engine are noise less and promise that you would enjoy the smoothness of the ride.
Ride Quality & Handling Smooth ride and cut a curve with easy handling and turning radius is best in its class.
Final Words I went for polo because of brand and quality of engineering. I mostly drive alone so I am ok with power but if you always drive with a family of 4 and are expecting good power with great mileage , this car is nt for you.
Areas of improvement SHould be a 4 cylinder engine, improvement in Interior features and can improve a lot on mileage.

Areas of improvement With this type of dealers, volkswagon may pack up soon. Better not to go in for it. I am suffering for having chosen to buy this car looking at its exteriors. I repent for my decision. When cars like Swift, ritz, figo etc were available, I went in for this car thinking that German technology will be very good. But how they have selected these dealers who were thrown out by other makes like Hyundai, Tata etc.
Service is just horrible. I had to wait for 10 days to get an appointment. Then another 10 days for servicing. What one has to do in the meantime?I repent why I have gone in for this car after waa 4 months waiting. Then itself my many friends advised me to go in for SWIFT. But swift looked like Jumbo, and Ritz bit frog shaped. Now I really learnt a lesson. I should have not gone in for the shape!

Areas of improvement Interior parts are of avg. quality. After sale service from showroom is worse among 03 brands of car that i am presently using i.e Maruti, Honda and Volkswagon. Steering wheel starts making noise after few thousand kms. Ground clearance is low due to which the car can only funstion in good roads, but a few road blocks and one will see car getting bumped. Poor front and rear lights.
Good things: Strong car body, smmoth on good raods, exterior looks are good. Good customer care team. Balance is fine.

Looks: New variant of polo is superb in style and comfort. Driven both on highways and in city.
Drivebility: Great diesel engine, city friendly with low range torque. Liked it.
Mileage: At an almost consistent speed on highways I am getting 23 with a/c on and 15 to 16 in city traffic.
GC: Not much issues with GC wit new variants. recently, attached spacers within the front & rear suspension to increase the GC of the car. they are good.
New Features: fetures added to new version like, driver seat height adjustment, Complet keyless entry, features added to steering wheel, autolock options etc... are amazing.
Boot: 280 liter boot. bigger and better.
Audio: This is the flip side, even though highline coming with fully loaded audio system; comfortline is missing usb and aux support. I bought a FM transmitter to use my hard drive and IPOD/IPHONE.
More on flip side: Very less options to enhance the car features as there are not much options provided for add-ons in this variant.
Service: Heard service levels are better now in chennai. Yet visit for one. good thing is first service required only after a year.

Exterior One of the best looking car in the world in it's segment. Good to look at from every angle. Curvy head lamp, VW emblem (front and back), wavy side view, beefy from back.
You can visibly see the difference of color coating of this Car and rest. You wont get small scratches which we generally get on other car.
Quality is noticeable once you open the door, bonnet and boot cover. No compromise in steel gauge to have a taugh body. Boot space open through emblem makes it more unique.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Riding comfort is awesome. Nice shock observing system (Mcpherson strut and semi independent trailing arms) makes riding comfort as good as sitting in home sofa. Very less vibration and shake on most of bumpy road in Bangalore.
Power steering is very smooth which can be operated with one figure. There is no cost cutting on quality of plastic used in interiors. Dual tone color combination makes interiors more gorgeous than other car.
Strong AC keeps you cool even 40dc +
Featurewise little less than other car in same range. However VW has given features whichever requires. However I still feel, Power window knobs for all windows should be given in driver side
There are enough space for each row for up to 6 feet tall person. However if more and bulky may struggle to fit comfortable. However considering generic Indian physic, there is enough room for all 5 traveler in the car.
Boot space is really good and enough to fit luggage for 3/5 day trip.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox People say 3 cylinders is out dated. However if you are use to your care you wont feel any difference. Very less turbo lag (1500-2000 RPM) compare to other car. You can by pass all traffic in highway once you reach optimum RPM
Gear system is very smooth and can feel difference in shifting gear compare to other car. However reverse gears at time confuse you if you are not use to it.
Car gives excellent fuel economy. On a average Im getting 15KM/ltr + and 23KM/ltr on highway. But this depends on how you drive. If you follow gear and RPM ration suggested in odometer, you will get optimum economy.
Ride Quality & Handling Excellent ride quality and smooth handling gives this car an edge. on 120Km/hr + you will have good control and grip on the road.
Final Words Excellent Car, great quality in each area (body, plastic quality), Spacious boot space, good pick up in right RPM and gear ratio, good mileage.
German engineering visible in every aspect of car, starting from engine, Pick up, riding quality
Areas of improvement VW can think of giving some more fringe benefits. However I feel if VW needs to compromise on quality to provide fringe benefits on same price range then better to refrain from it.
