Can't compete with the competition

 

Exterior A very sad and rustic Vento like look, In India customers would like to see a distinguished look. It looks just as vento on a bit of steroids.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Functional but all vanilla, Rear seat sucks, Again, not a bad set of seats, but for 14 lacs, no way. My i20 offer more suppost in the rear seats.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox This is the only saving grace of the car.

Ride Quality & Handling It has a good planted feeling. However its biggest issue is its Ground clearence w.r.t its length. Do not think of owing this car other then metros.

Final Words A big disappointment. Such a brilliant company, who coompletely failed to read the markets ground reality. How do I rate this just as a car, maybe 4/5. How do I rate this car which has a price of 14 lacs plus  2/5. VW can learn a big lesson from Hyundai. I use to despise this Korean company, but just look how well they understand the market, The new Verna is an absolut delight, featur rich, amazing design. Hyundai is by far the best company who understand the Indian market. Good diesel engine, great looks, loaded with features, customised to Indian road conditions, and best of all Price competitive.

Areas of improvement LOOKS< LOOKS< LOOKS, Add more feature to base modle. Improve ground clearence to 150. Try to be innovative, the interiot of this car looks just like polo's. VW cars have a sex appeal of a camel. VW can learn a big lesson from its own Audi unit. What an amazing transformation. If VW continues like this, I am afraid this imaculate car maker will not be able to stay in developing markets such as India.
