TOUGH ITS SAME OLD QUADJET 1.3 DIESEL ENGINE, ITS TOO GOOD FOR INDIAN ROAD ,PROVIDES YOU GOOD AVG AND POWER. EVEN THE NOISE OF ENGINE IS TOO GOOD IN ZEST IF COMPARE WITH OTHER TATA VEHICLE OR SWIFT / XCENT /AMAZE/ POLO.I HAD DRIVEN THIS CAR APPROX 10000 KM TILL DATE AND GETTING HIGHWAY MILAGE OF 21.5 TO 22 ( ON EXPRESS WAY) AND IN DAILY CITY RUN ( HEAVY TRAFFIC ZONE) GETTING 18.5 TO 19.5 KM / LTR. WHICH IS TOO GOOD .

IT is really a good car from TATA group. THis is my second car from TATA. CAR IS MORE SPACIOUS, AUDIO system is more effective. really enjoing the long drive.
I can say this is really one of the best product from TATA. suitable for our roads. No need to worry for speed breakers.
seating also more comfortable. Really worth for money.
BUT THE TATA DEALERS ARE NOT SHOWING ANY DEVELOPMENT IN THEIR SERVICE. AS USUAL, LEAST CUSTOMER CARE.
EXCHAGING MY OLD CAR, I PURCHASED THE CAR FROM KRISHNAGIRI TRUE SAI DEALER OUTLET.more than 20 days over but I COULD NOT GET MY RECEPIT OR BILL FOR THE OLD CAR SALE.
I WENT TO KRISHNAGIRI to MEET THE GEN MANAGER @ SHOWROOM. BUT FOR CURTACY HE DID t COME OUT FROM HIS CABIN.
REGISTRATION number I CAN ABLE TO GET FROM SOME MEDIATOR. BUT THE DEALERS CHARGE FOR REGISTRATION and not even called me to say the car number after registred.
I ADVICE,WHEN YOU BUY new car DONT FORGET TO ASK THE CLIPS FOR YOUR FRONT NUMBER PLATE. BECAUSE IN MY CASE it WAS NOT THERE. AFTER A LONG STRUGGLE I GOT IT. ANY ORDINARY CLIPS WONT MATCH YOUR NUMBER PLATE.
OTHERWISE CAR IS VERYGOOD. NEED LOT OF DEVLOPMENT IN SERVICE only. BECAUSE TODAY MOST OF THE CAR DEALERS ARE CUSTOMER FRIENDLY AND FAST IN SERVICE.
IF THIS IS CONTINUING FOR TATA, NO USE OF introducing GOOD PRODUCT in MARKET.

Exterior
Stylish body with good lighting system. Good ground clearance. But workmanship shoddy. Bonnet lock plastic cover gave way, wiper spray pad on the bonnet not stuck properly. Tata Motors have agreed to replace. Side rearview mirrors could have been the folding type.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)
Comfortable Interior with good A/C and leg space. Seats front and back comfortable for five adults. Good infotainment system.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox
Powerful engine though the torque conversion for the first gear is bit too much. Car moves at 10/15 kph without any acceleration. But engine is noisy. The engine used to stall often initially which was rectified but still even now occasionally the engine raises uncomfortably even with very slight acceleration which takes you by surprise. I get only 9.5/10.5 km/l in city drive even after the dealer and Tata Motors tried their best. Very disappointing when they advertise 17.2 Km/l. Shifting to reverse gear is a problem quite often and shifting to other gears is also noisy.
Ride Quality & Handling
Car gives a comfortable ride quality and driving comfort is also good. But occasionally while taking U turn, I find that the steering does not return automatically.
Final Words
The car has fallen short of my expectation as I was happily using a Honda City for 8 years and went for the Tata Zest after reading the reviews and the supposed to be advanced features developed by Tatas.
Areas of improvement
Workmanship has to improve. And the Engine has to be absolutely silent especially in idling.
Good appearance, ground clearance, music sys. Comfy Interiors. Engine power good.V. Poor mileage in city, Gear shift not good, Engine noisy, Rattling in rough road.

Exterior like as usual vista manza from front LOOK GOOD AND should be reconstructed from front diffrent from old models , heavy metal body i like i dont worry about average because safety is more important than money

speedometer display show [F] means fault in steering it will become lock after 10min when your car in neutral position with running engine.
Final Words poor techanical staff of plant they are not checked issues before dispatch product not sell if car is not ready to deliver to customer

Before I start I have evaluated the car and this is my personal experiance along one of my friend who bought the car on my recomendation.
Exterior: A good looking car, new ideas bought to market 1st Question is Tata doing this? a surprise.....however having the network of dealers that they have its no questions why their cars are used as transport vehicals.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort): good features like of harman Music sys, stearing mounted controls, however very much congested for a 5 ppl team. No bottle holders in the front.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox: Again I have bifurcated my and friends opinion below
Mine: nice car good pickup but only in Sports mode else its bullockart...Gearbox got stuck even in Testdrive......
Friends: He has driven 7500Km .... after 1st service changing relays and all its bit ok now yet a bit noisiy and has huge vibrations in gear stick. Avg is poor 10-12 in city 14 max in highway.
Ride Quality & Handling: a good to drive bcos of the new suspension and low radius turn however poor pickup on steeps and while overtaking
Final Words: A good to go car spoiled by the Dealership.... Thanks I have backed out of buying it............Wake up or it's really TATA
Areas of improvement : Least bother atleast if they really improve the dealership ethics in managing the customer. Never will buy a TATA vehical in my Life

Exterior ATTRACTIVE, GROUND CLEARANCE IS VERY GOOD, SHOULD HAVE PUT REAR WIPER AT THE HIGHEST VERSION OF REVETRON AT LEAST, GPS SHOULD HAVE BEEN GIVEN.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) SPACEY COMFORTABLE, GOOD VOICE COMMAND CONTROL OF ALL FUNCTIONS LIKE MUSIC, CALL, TEMPERATURE ETC.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox SHOULD HAVE BEEN MADE AUTO GEAR AT XT MODEL, MANY THINGS ARE MENTIONED IN THE MANUAL BUT NOT AVAILABLE IN THE HIGEST END OF XT MODEL ALSO.
Ride Quality & Handling GOOD, comfertabily one can drive on indian roads having ditches, puddles etc. Due to its good ground clearance. Handling is very smooth. very spacious, it definitely an eye catching vehicle on road. Very good for a lady driver like me.
Final Words GOOD VEHICLE TO GO FOR BUT NEED TO ADD MANY ACCESSORIES EVEN IN THE HIGEST END XT MODEL.
Areas of improvement DEALERS AT THE SAME TOWN GIVE DIFFERENT OFFERS TO DIFFERENT CUSTOMERS ON SAME DAY . THERE IS NO UNIFORMITY SO YOU MAY FEEL CHEATED IF YOU R NOT VERY SMART.

Exterior : Looks are really deceptive, at first the car looks clean and niche', however as usual the devil is in details, too much ill fitment of panels and bonnet cap
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) : Very spacious at the backseat, comfortably accomodates 3 at rear, the music system is appealing and nice specially on long trips, however the buzzing noice from the dashboard indicates loose fitment and takes away the comfortable silence of the ride
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox: The ECO mode can be used on highways where no thurst or boost is necessarily required (if you are not a speed enthusiast) otherwise it's of no use in city traffic. SPORT mode is a real fun to drive which makes the ride peppy and the car becomes really really responsive to throttle. Gearbox is above average and the gear shift is smooth. Fuel economy ranges between 12-17 kmpl based on traffic conditions, mine after 3200 kms shows average fuel economy of 14 kmpl
Ride Quality & Handling : Nice suspension, amazingly comfortable for driver and passengers. I hope TATA work on decreasing the blindspots of pillar and RVM on driver side. The placement takes complete view of anyone coming from 2o'clock
Final Words : I would categorize the final words in 1) Cars to Drive - This one is a real delight for driving, comfort, sound system quality etc. 2) Cars to Buy - Well I would say a big "NO", nitty gritties in the vehicle are so much in number in terms of engineering and fitments that you will come across one after other each day. To name few of them a) The bonnet fitment is having different size gaps on either sides, the dashboard fitment is having more than 1 cm gap on driver side and less than 3 mm on the other, on rough roads the dashboard's buzzing noise gives you a feel of 5 years old car, the BT system of car hangs every second day and doesn't responds to phone calls. So it's not a car to own but surely 2-3 drives are worth to know that TATA atleast tried.

Exterior
The exterior of the vechicle is very decent and if you let Dzire, Amaze, Xcent stand in a row than you will let the know the difference. In front of ZEST all other sedans looks very small. You will get good view of road, since the height of the seat and ground clearance is best in the segment.

No doubt the interior is very cool, the Harman music system is so cool, like you got handsfree calling, all music controls on steering etc.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox
Loaded with Revetron engine and you can drive the ZEST in three modes as per your requirement. You can change the gears with fingers so smooth. Never need to press accelerator, brake so soft.
Ride Quality & Handling
Ride quality is like some luxurious car. If you let someone with cloths on eye and let him sit he will feel lile sitting in Mercedes or audi.

Zest has very attractive interiors. With projector Lamps, Day time running lights and LED backlight, it is beautiful.
Smae is true with interiors. Excellent space, both at front and back, Driver's seat height adjustment, Auto climate control and excellent music system, it too good.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox: Too Good. After driving 7500+ Kilometers, I am really happy with the performance. In city Conditions, my car gives me a mileage of 20+KMPL and on Highways its performance has been OUTSTANDING. I routinely get a mileage 25+ kmpl that include traffic holds and driving in hills. I got best mileage of 27.7 kmpl on Delhi-Chandigarh Highway.

I don't know Tatas bottle holders in the cabin. Another area of improvement is mud/dust getting into engine compartment.

Exterior Looks very attractive in front and side. Rear side should've even better. I just dont like its rear exterior view when compared to swift dzire or honda amaze.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Very comfort inside. Leg room is highly sufficient. Height adjustable seats are good. The inbuilt harmon music system is very fine and no need to make any modifications for audio system. CD/DVD player is not available.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox I own diesel variant and obviously its a fiat quatrajet engine. So no doubts about the engine performance and its fine and smooth. Pick up is lacking sometimes but you cant expect more than that of a pickup in diesel cars. so its fine. Before I bought my zest, there were some complaints about the gear box that its vibrating. But all those problems has been resolved and as of now gear switching is so smooth and easy.
Ride Quality & Handling Maximum speed of 150 kmph I have tried with my Zest. Unlike vista, Zest has full control even when you're riding at 150 kmph speed :D
Final Words Excellent one for less than 9 lakh compact sedan category and far better than Dzire and Amaze I would say :) Mileage surprisingly I am getting 20.5 kmpl so far (in city, its around 15).
Areas of improvement Rear exterior design which bothers me a lot that this car deserves much better rear exterior.
