The car is gud... Tiago is good for city driving. Seat height and steering adjustment are good features. The doors close with a resounding thud. Dual airbags + ABS + EBD was something which I was looking for ..Also the car looks modern and better than other competitors at this price point. The steering is responsive and music system is also quite good. Overall a good family car :-)

Tiago can be seen as the successor to the late Indica and Vista, and it is a mighty good one at that. Tata's cars and ther after sales, both were problematic just about a decade or two ago. But now they have sorted out their issues. Their cars now are just brilliant, and the Tiago is the best example, so much so that it has single-handedly restored the faith of the people in the company with its chic looks, efficient engine options and it's exhaustive list of features which adds up to a highly VFM package that no other car in the segment can offer. The interior is unlike any other car in the segment and is made of good-to-excellent quality materials. The top of the dashboard is made out of premium soft touch plastics while the bottom part is hard, but still is not commuter grade. The door panel plastics, the centre console all contain a touch of class and the top part of the front doors flow seamlessly, joining the dashboard to the other side, something which is clearly inspired from Jaguar cars. The glove box is cooled and has a damped opening action, which is unseen in cars thay cost twice as much. The variant I am reviewing, the XZ Petrol comes with dual SRS airbags, ABS, EBD, Corner Stability Control ( CSC ), Central Locking, Remote Lock/Unlock, Speed Sensing Auto-Locking Doors ( 10kmph ) and Impact Sensing Door Unlock, a feature rich MID with dual trip meters, average fuel consumption, instantaneous fuel consumption and clock. The body itself is very strong and that is reflected in the kerb weight of the car, which weighs more than the Baleno which is from a segment above, it is also seen the sheer weight of the doors and the proper THUD upon closing them. This is one strongly built car and safety isn't in anyway compromised at any point. The infotainment on offer is co-developed by Tata and Harman and is named "Connectnext" and sounds are played through an absolutely magnificent, high quality 8 speaker Harman sound system that has very clear treble and a super rich bass that doesn't distort the music, unlike some cheaper systems. This kind of speaker setup can give competition that cost even thrice as much a run for it's money. The transmission on offer is the TA65 5-Speed unit ( same on the diesel ), although the gates are defined decently well, it is a bit notchy although nothing that would break the deal, and power is fed to the transmission via a 1.2 litre 3 cylinder motor titled "Revotron" and develops 84 BHP and 114 NM of torque which is more than adequate for day to day usage. Expected mileage under normal highway driving conditions would be between 20-21 kmpl, which is pretty good and in the city the figures are between 14-15 kmpl, which again, are respectable numbers. Servicing has always been a problem with older Tata cars, I will have to be honest and say that the after sales is still lagging behind Maruti and Hyundai but the Tiago's petrol is a very reliable unit as I've been using it for more than two years and it hasn't cost me anything other than the usual service costs. Cons to speak of, are the refinement levels, you can only get so much refinement out of a 3 cylinder motor since they are inherently unbalanced. My car is a 2016 batch one and hence refinement levels are just about average and you can feel the vibrations on the pedals as well as the gear level and you can always hear the engine when you are on the get-go. However newer batches ( 2018 and up ) are much more refined, which I strongly believe is due to the addition of a balancer shaft to iron out the vibrations and they have managed to contain it to a large extent. Another Con is the fit and finish. It's nothing to write home about and Tata should have improved their overall finishing levels especially since the materials being used are of such good quality. Finish is inconsistent on some places and are nowhere near Hyundai levels of fit and finish. And that concludes my short review of the Tiago Petrol XZ. Thank you.

Being a car enthusiast, It was in the year 2016 when I realized my dream. Back then I was hunting for a right car (decent hatch back with petrol power) with a budget of 6 lakh to suit my requirements. Compact city commuter, with occasional highway runs, decent and frugal engine, comfortable for 4 with enough leg room,and good driving dynamics were my needs. After lot of research, I had considered Maruti celerio, Hyundai grand i10, Maruti swift, Tata Tiago and Delta variant of Maruti Baleno. Of all the above mentioned car's it was Tiago which impressed me a lot and for the price it was offered it was hard to resist. It ticked all the right boxes of my requirements list, Very good looks(subjective), spacious and plesant interiors, high class infotainment system, generous boot, driveable engine with flat torque delivery, strong build and a superb handler. Though few of the cars mentioned above excelled in one or two parameters, they failed to deliver either in the safety aspect or my budget. Grandi10 was a close call but the budget was out of reach along with few equipments compared to Tiago. Then comes the word WHY TATA????? Literally I was Harrased ?? made fun for choosing the brand, but my decision was above all, with a strong mindset and trust, waiting for three months, I bought the sun burst orange Tiago xz p in the month of Sept 2016. People who spoke negative about the brand were awestruck with the quality and features and slowly started to love the car,, and the brand. But even now they are some brain dead people who prefer resale value above their life??. Ok, so about my experience with Tiago from 2016, To be Frank, it's good. The car has delivered more than what I had expected, Drove about 21k kilometers till date, and was never let down by the car, there are few niggles here and there but no car is perfect. Few things that can be improved is on the engine side and nvh levels. The 1.2l, 3 pot petrol is perfect for many occasions, except while overtaking, which has to be planned. Nvh level do increase when AC works in tandem. But not a deal breaker. Pros & cons, I would not call it as cons but area of improvements, NOT A DEAL BREAKER 1.Better NVH levels. 2.A bit extra under thigh support. 3.1l bottle front door pockets. 4.Adjustable head rest for rear seats. 5.Dealer training bit lacking. PROS, (NOTABLE) It's a pro among the B segment.?? LOOKS(SUBJECTIVE) HANDLING (CLASS APART) BRAKING MILAGE(16 IN CITY 19-21 IN HIGHWAY) INFOTAINMENT.SAFETY BUILT QUALITY GOOD SERVICE (PRERNA BANGALORE). Thank you TATA MOTORS,, Tiago as a product is a pure justice to the hard earned money,, and a love for driving.

Suspention of the car is very very good it absorbs all the bumps very well but other than this the car is very poor, very bad mileage, very high service cost the service cost of petrol tiago is more than the diesel maruti or a Hyundai car and very very poor plastic lock quality inside the cabin and outside the car.

Just go for it. Good money for value car. beat for low budget guys. As your first car, you can go with the base model and have the music system + 4 window button from outside on cheap rates.

I'm driving my Tiago xz since a year. Perfect hatchback car with extremely good handling with better mileage. Seats are too much comfortable. The best in class Harman Kardon music system you can get in this car only. The only issue is Back seated can accommodate only two-person with comfort & a child. Thanks

Very poor buying experience as delivery delayed by 20 days Riding experience is also very poor due to engine vibration. Constant noise from left door or dash board. Service center people didn't able to resolve. Engine warning light also on sometime. Body is very good that's the only point tata excels Service experience is also very bad All cons except body structure

Tata tiago car is very fantastic i love it very much.It is good in all sections. Pros of this car is many but its cons is it engine sound is very high.riding experience is very good

Overall good car in terms of comfort & styling, fuel economy is also good, the suspension is also good, Music system is Harman brand which is good in terms of sound. The engine is also silent.
