Exterior The vehicle though doesn't look as stunning as a City or Fiesta, still has a decent outlook. The car looks huge. Anyday it gathers teh respect of a true sedan. The styling too is better compared to most of the cars in the segment. Lots of chrome on the rear and front grill adds to the looks.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Features: There are oodles of features filled into the machine. It had DIS which is more or less accurate and helps provide instantaneus mileage,... which helps adjust the driving style. Seating is the best part of this vehicle. Even with the front seats set to their maximum adjustible position, there is ample leg room for the Passengers in the rear. I firmly believe that passenger comfort is of atmost priority as driver seats are anyways comfortable even in a small car like Alto. rear can comfortably seat 3 people and the armrest on the driver and front passenger seat is very comfortable. The Dash board looks neat and Blaupunkt stereo with bluetooth adds to the looks. The odo meter/tacho meter part of the dash is very informative. There are some really useful indicators of open door, ABS, seat belt alert,...The steerng mounted audio controls are also very handy but some times get accidentally operated while driving. The dual tone horns are pleasant and effective.
Other than the above mentioned features, one can find Front and rear Fog lamp, Rear and Front Defogger, 2 power outlets (front and rear), enlit vanity mirror and glove box.
The most interesting feature is a led lit key slot which assists in locating the key hole. The 4 personal lights with Theatre dimming is interesting too.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox The 95 PS engine does show some slackness at lower rpm(below 2000 rpms) but at higher rpm it does perform well. The car can easily touch 80 kmph in no time with the tachometer just reading 2500 rpms. I was advised the the service guys that at 2500 rpms the vehicle gives good mileage and better riding experience as well.
The mileage so far is better than most sedans its giving me 14.2 kmpl. in city conditions it gievs me a decent 12 kmpl and the same on highway being 16.5 kmpl. The top speed till date I have reached is 130kmph(I have learnt from my friend who owns a similiar vehicle of having reached 160kmph), even at those speeds the vehicle remains pretty stable and the engine remains as silent as ever.
Gearbox I can say is not as smooth as of Hyundai vehicles but nonethless is very comfortable. turn Infact I really enjoy having such a gearbox where you really feel the release from one gear and moving to the other.
Ride Quality & Handling Handling of the vehicle is decent I can say if not the best. The steering feels heavy, but for the vehicle of such size, it seems pretty obvious.
The vehciles suspension is very good and can handle all pot holes and humps with ease. It appears to be well desgined for indian roads. The ground clearance too is a decent 165mm which can overcome most of humps. The passengers seldom get to feel the impact of any of them.
The vehicle comes fitted with Disc brakes and ABS, which does a very good job of slowing down the vehicle quickly.
But, only thing I am concerned with is the handling in the high speed turns, one will feel the exposed to the G-force while taking a turn at high speeds.
Final Words I feel its a true value for money car. Its great car to drive and also be driven. Its a much better package than swift dzire which is a market leader in the class.
Areas of improvement Handling can be improved a bit better, specially when it comes to balance in high speed turns.
