not up to the expectations

I got a call from Concord motors chennai for a test drive, with my busy schedule I could take half day on a working day for the test drive( un like others TATA 's dont work on Sundays ), along with my family. I hold a maruti Alto which is 3 yrs old and I would like to go for sedan.

I had lot of expectation from tata maanza. I got the test drive after a waiting for 45 minutes at the show room The good thing in this car is NVH level. I did not feel whether the engine is started or not. Cabin noise is so low. As I moved on to the main Road ( velechery Road) I started realising some facts. Third gear is really good. But the as i accelerated I foud the response was not rocky. I had test driven Ford IKON and i 20 diesel version. I understand why TATA is failing repeatedly for a well designed passenger car.

cr is not so attractive from inside and out side too. Though it is filled with all the features what I could feel is TATA has incorporated just for the sake of it, but quality is horrible. over all I was not happy witht he performance. I delayed my decision to buy a sedan for six months thinking TATA maanza could meet my expectations. But utilimately I am disappointed.

On the way back to my home I just entered INDUS motors for taking a final decesion on my DEZIRE. Lucky enough to get the test drive immediately. Over all car is far supeior compare to Maanza in all respects. My observations on various cars based on test drives:

had a test drive of following diesel cars. my experience:
1. Ford Ikon: great strudy car , very good power AC so chilling,. Interiors / AC vents not so appealing, noisy engine. VFM.
2. Hyundai i 20: Excellant car with great features. Pick up is excellant. interiors also good. But no VFM., AC not so effective

3. Indigo Maanza : bad car, but VFM., engine lag too much, not good for city, low pick up, plastic quality is cheap., filled with feature.

4. Swift dezire: good engine, good features, great car.

planning to Book a Dezire VDI shortly.
