Tata indigo CS GLX my first car.
Before i went to purchase it , the car stole my eyes. more over when i have it i am falling in love with it.
i am person with a very large figure, so i needed a Spacious car with a ample leg space, and the car meets the criteria. Styling is upto the mark with its new analogue clock and front console.
As i am not very much bothered with the milage i have chosen the petrol version(GLX). my daily travel is less than 15 Km. and the new car is giving 10Km/lit. with AC. I hope after my first servicing the milage will improve.
AC(HVAC) is efficient and there is no rear vent, i feel it a bit noisy.
Engine is smooth and producing a good power and pickup. what i liked the most is its look and interior . outer rear view mirror is dual tone with metal insert . total beige interior. leather wrapped gearshift knob and steering whelel The boot space is huge, and double folding backrest of the back seat gives enough space during the need of carrying more luggage.
Another good thing about the car is its power steering. its sensitive than many other cars( alto/Santro/WagonR......opnion may vary).
Power window is provided with the higher end model(GLX).
Audio warning for drivers seat belt is a good safety measure i found apart from standard measures.
Head lights could be more brighter particularly in dipper.
with all Pros & Cons. its one of the best car made in India. Tata motors proved again that they can give the middle class indian the pleasure of Sedan @ 4,40403(on road/ Bhopal) Thanx to them.
If you are planning for a car with space, comfort and value for money you can go for indigo CS.

I bought Indigo CS LX 9th April 09 and clocked 750+ so for.
Wanted to go for big car (with space at back) and CS appealed me with its look.
After lot of debate whether to choose petrol or diesel finally decided diesel (my first diesel car). Feels nothing difference than petrol except the sound from engine (may be due to turbo).
The driving found comfortable except some tough in gear shifting. Also the exterior finish (like varying gaps at doors, improper seating of dicky cover at back, beeding at window glasses) to be improved (TATA has to match this with Maruti, Hyundai).
Interior is okay but (as told in all reviews for TATA cars) to improve to match with others.
The dealer response is good however still I am waitng for seat covers and full floor mats as I wish to buy these only from TATA dealer.
Fuel economy has to check and hope will give around 18 for Coimbatore Traffic. Seem slightly bumby may be due to its height and more ground clearance.
Space at inside can be better utlized for extra things like bottle holder etc similar to i10 or A-Star. Need Foldable center rest at back seat like Chevvy or other similar cars.
TATA can improve these little things to make the CS realy a SEDAN for people of all class.

Looks good and decent. Even after 3 years.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)
Spacious and comfortable. original seats are not that comfortable. Interiors were gone in 2.5 years.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox
Not as powerful with AC on. Clutch plates gone after 40K km.
Ride Quality & Handling
Good. Shocks not good quality. Feels lighter than a Ford sedan.
Final Words
Expensive to maintain after 3 years. Not much response from dealer/company. Parts can get rusty and dangerous, and some jobs can run into 20-30k. They say that - i should have known to put rust coating (if it is so obvious, why didn't they do it, or the dealer - and charge extra). Electrical issues after 2 years. Don't know how many more. Company should take responsibility.
Areas of improvement
Tata should take more responsibility for larger jobs. Parts getting rusty is a basic - quality issue of the parts. And the internal design is so primitive that for some parts entire front - including engine and dashboard need to be taken apart.

Exterior Good Looking car. Headlights looks like a copy-cat of the Jetta. The Rear View Mirror was much better in the Old Indigo.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Bad quality intierior, Poor Plastics... Space is good and is comfertable.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine Performance is really good.
Fuel Economy 15.2. Gear Box GOOD.
Ride Quality & Handling Good Stable Car.
Final Words Is a sedan but rides a hatchback. Good for city traffic as well as rural ares. Good Pick-Up. What I like most is the sturdiness of the vehicle when I was cruising at about 120-150 kmph in the Rajarhat Expressway in Kolkata. As a whole, the exterior stylish look, good suspension, boot space, defoggers, body coloured bumpers, handle, attractive grille in front matched with elegant tail lamp cluster, good interior space, all beige colour finish (save the quality of some of the fixtures!), good mileage, easy manouvering while driving within the city (no need to shift gear frequently!) at about 40-60 kmph speed, capability to to sneak in to the tightest of spots while parking make me strongly recommend for Tata Indigo CS.
Sporty looking sedan type vehicle at even less cost than a hatchback.
It is smooth. Power steering offers good control. Independent wheel suspension is real good as the pothole on the left wheel does not feel on the right.
Areas of improvement Poor Interior Quality needs to be improved. Rear View Mirror also needs to be changed.

Exterior It is Indica hatch back making the statement, "I have matured into a sedan" ! And a good evolution!
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Features : Prank-proof against inadvertant start -you can not start car unless the clutch is fully pressed. Only a grown-up can start the car. Kids at the rear can not play with power window switch-the front passengers can simply deactivate the function and restore it as reqd.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Very quiet engine.Superb gear shift up/down. Quantum improvement over Indica. Got 16.5 kmpl over a 550 km Pune- Sangli-Pune section that included 100 km drive over bad roads and through cities.
Ride Quality & Handling Very comfortable ride for rear passengers -a true sedan comfort. Very smooth power steering.
Final Words At Rs 491475/- on-road price that I paid on 10 Dec 10, I feel I got the best VFM.
Areas of improvement Visibility of obstacles at rear is a matter of concern especially for short persons. I got over it by installing webcam based Reverse Parking Assistance System. Height-adjustable driver seat will add value to this sedan. Tatas ought to offer it as retro-fitment option.

Exterior The front part is the best. The ORVMs when pulled inside should be more in than they actually are. The rear bumper has no space to be hit even minutely. You need an extra bumper guard at the rear, compulsorily.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Its sickening to see that there is no glass or bottle holder in the open. The glove space is small. To see the watch or roll the Power windows you have to on the ignition key.

Final Words
1) At least 2 glass holders & a bottle holder in the open should be provided near the front seats.
2)Rear bumpers should be bettered for taking minute hits.
3)Plastic facia parts in the interior should be better, as they have started coming out & need to be pressed every now & then. For eg. at the base of gear shift knob, near the door handles.
4)The most amazing thing. When you put on the AC with air recirculation, and while on your drive happen to pass from area of bad smell, you will smell it inside also. This takes only 5 seconds to come in side your car. Uniquely amazing isn't it? AC of Nano is Better than CS. I bought both of then together at the same time.

Exterior - Indigo CS has smooth exteriors with smart lines, smooth finish and sturdy looks. The tail lamps blend well with the car and does not look huge as in the regular Indigo. The use of chrome and twin head lamps gives the car a classy look. The space in the door panels, boot and bonnet is funny. the finish is not done quite well.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)- The AC and heater is very effective, spacious at the rear with three people sitting at the rear seat. The plastic quality is poor and not finish and fit well. There are spaces which could be annoying at times and rattle at low speeds and draw unwanted attention. The rear shockers barging out in the boot kills the space. Seats are however very comfortable with lot of cushion. The most awkard is the steering which is too high and the hand rest on the doors and too low. On a long drive, the shoulders would develop pain. Steering is also too big for the car.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox - Engine is quite impressive and delivers good power at 1800 rpm and above with the TDI Engine. Although it is a slow starter but once the turbo kicks in the difference is easily felt and the car accelerats pretty well. Mileage is the biggest asset of this car. I have driven this from chennai to ooty and the car gave a return mileage of 21 km/ltr with AC was a superlative performance. Like most readers i too was flabbergasted and thought that the fuel meter must not be working. I was proved wrong when the car took only what was used. Shifting gears is not smooth and requires to push the pedal -clutch a couple of times. Power on top speed is a concern. Steering wheel is very light at high speed. Need to be careful as with a gust of wind or slight movement the car can actually pull you onto the oncoming traffic. The ride and handling of the car is pretty impressive. The drag can be experienced at high speeds and turns.
Final Words Very comfortable, good handling and ride quality. Superb AC. Visibility is great, thanks to the double barrel head lamps. Fog lamps too does a great job in illuminating the road. Sturdy and reliable.
Areas of improvement - NVH - noise due to poor fit and finish is definitely an area of improvement. Lower the height of the steering wheel and have it replaced with a smaller steering wheel. Placement of the rear shockers intelligently might improve storage space.

I have very good experience when I drive my Indigo CS.I just love to drive my car for long roots like Pune, Satara, Kolhapur & many more places because of comfort,style,performance & fuel economy.
As I drive my car which is Indigo CS Diesel version I experience the problem of pickup & it is observed at the time of overtake at low gears. This the only one problem that I experienced while driving.
Overall experience of car is excellent i.e. cooling,comfort,fuel economy & looks also.
