      Good build quality and control over fast driving. Mileage little bit low when compared other cars in the same segment. I had competed 3rd service at 45000km. Total service cost-8000+12000+14000

      I was looking for a upper c segment or entry level d segment sedan. My Outlook was for a performance sedan and hence zeroed down on Skoda Rapid Monte Carlo TDI, VW Vento TDI, VW Vento TSI, Hyundai Verna CRDI 1.6, and Honda City Petrol. I have driven my friend's Honda City on a couple of road trips and I love the driving Dynamics.

      However, after test driving the Rapid TDI AT, I was blown away. I test drove the vento TDi and TSI as well. The TSI is fun too but I was missing the torque punch. Vento TDI NVH was not as good as RAPID and I felt the rapid to be slightly more stable at high speed. Also, I had a predilection for the Rapid Monte Carlo look. I was a bit hesitant about AT because I would miss the manual fun, particularly rev matching in down shifts. But the rapid test drives ensured me that I would probably not need to down shift at all to overtake, the S mode is really punchy. Even in D mode the car was accelerating 100 to 120 with just a tap. I test drove the Octavia 148 bup manual petrol as well. The awesome 1.8 TSI was out of my budget.

      I had test driven the Verna CRDi as well and wifey was all in for Verna. The Verna Diesel 1.6 is really punchy. I also liked the ventilated seat feature and sun roof. However, I decided to let go off these cool features for the driving pleasure of Rapid.

      So, DSG and high speed stability won over sunroof and ventilated seats. After the delivery, I have driven the car for approximately 2k KM in the last 1 month with 1500 odd KM on highway trips. I was gentle on the car in the first 1000 km and did not cross 3000 rpm. In the last two road trips of 500 km I had decided to express myself a bit.

      So far, I have been really happy with my decision, this car is a gem to drive, be it in city traffic on highways. The pick up is impressive mainly because of the mid range torque and DSG. I was having some fun with a couple of Honda Cities and Creta in the last road trip. Even in D mode the car accelerates so effortlessly from 100/110 to 120/130. And in S mode, it's a beast. I haven't pushed it to limit, however, I had touched 170/75 for a few minutes and was impressed by the stability. The car can munch miles at ease @120 and feels quite at home @ 140/50.

      I am happy with the highway fuel economy as well, it gives me 15/17 on highways. I do not make the dsg undergo unnecessary strain(I bring it to N mode in red light and standstill jams) like I used to take care of my clutch plates(double clutching in general and avoiding clutch in red light or standstill) in my earlier manuals.

      In my opinion, the Rapid TDI AT is a very good choice for ppl who love to drive.

      I choose this car under an illusion of quality product and services but thats all an myth. Engine failure at just 140000 km which is costing about 5 lakh rupees and problem with AC since the day I purchased.

      1. Dysfunctional air conditioning unit.

      2. Premature engine failure.

      3. 5 lakh rupees repair cost for engine failure in very 6 th year of purchase.

      4. Very expensive repair and maintenance cost. Not even a single advantage in buying skoda car. Please dont buy.

      Buying Experience Skoda sales and service people are not that pushy or keen to sell their car, that speaks for their low sales volume, or else why is this car so low in sales inspite of being such a magnificient car Riding experience I own the the Onyx Lapiz Blue Diesel automatic. You feel like you are driving a truck, but the handling is super smooth. Pick up is great. Feels like your driving an Audi or BMW. The gear shifting is very seamless and unnoticable thanks to DSG. Looks The Lapiz blue rapid is a stunner and a head turner. People keep enquiring about the car every now and then. Servicing I have driven only 100 kms by now, but according to skoda servicing is every 15k or 1 year Only pros and no cons. All in all its the best car in the segment and miles ahead of other cars

      Riding a rapid is very comfortable ,performance is good And service and maintenance cost to high and one of the best segment in this car , value for money and mild body rolle ABS and EBD Well worked and its comfortable for long drives and mileage high way 14.5 and city drive 13 only .over all is worth to buying

      riding experience is very worst in this car it will not go below 3rd gear even if we are 10km/h speed, it will maintain only 3rd gear from there to get the pickup is very tough, only noise will come but the vehicle will not move, auto diesel is having DSG gearbox but to be surprised in petrol they are using some TC technology which will not let the gear down even we are in slow speed due to the torque, went and checked with the service center, the result is like it is designed like that only nothing can be done have to ride with same hectic sound without the pickup, I have ridden the other i10 auto and wagonor auto where they are in the smaller segment having a better performance than this so please don't go for petrol automatic in Skoda, if then you are wasting your money

      I brought this car ambition diesel automatic model just 12 days before, the dsg gear box is really an amazing thing which shifts gears ultrafast. The only thing that i didn't like is the mileage because the fuel economy is average but every rapid owners are saying the mileage is good...so i hope there will be a increase in mileage after 1st service

      Possibly the best car in the segment. Solid build quality and riding comfort.. Amazing handling.. It just gives you a great riding experience. I hope Skoda would not let me down during services. Only con is mileage. I have an automatic ( petrol , Ambition ) and I get 8 - 10 kms with in city and around 15 kms on long drives.

      Exterior Very attractive look, i like its cutting edge desing.

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Interior quality is best in this class, the quality of switches and plastic used in dash board are best in this class, build quality of body is very best and secure, the front arm rest is very comfort and perfectly placed ( when i test drive other vehicles, i feel very discomfort and very small size arm rest is in most cars) tilt and telescopic steering, height adjustable driver seat.

      Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine and gear box are not very best, but good. Fuel economy is not good as compare to other cars.

      Ride Quality & Handling The best ride quality in this class, handling is superb.

      Final Words A good example for German technology. I bought this car as a brand new, and now the odometer is in 5275 KM. I am very satisfied with this car.

      Areas of improvement Need a sunroof option,  improve mileage.

      Good handling, Ride quality, Stability, Look, power fordable ORVM. LED turn indicator on ORVMFuel consumption, position of ORVM adjustment switch,
