Exterior A typical SKODA plush looks, though many are upset on its elderly brother look of a Fabia. Looks a no nonsense car from design prospect, very refined and elegant cuts. A very eye catchy sedan.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Again simple in looks, but plush with loads of features to use. Precisely a look drive luxury car for those who believe and love CLASS!! The rear AC could have been bit more effective. Multi features to use and enjoy.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Typical SKODA engine, the hotter - the better performance. Very miser in consuming fuel(diesel) and heartful in giving mileage. Engine response too good at higher speed. Amazingly the 5th gear can be used at a speed of 40 also. With 240 torque. High level of confidence. Gear shifting not the very best, but still too good.
Ride Quality & Handling The riding response is very acknowledgable and does not gives you a feel of a diesel car. very refined handling and aptly interacting with its support in kitty.
Final Words VALUE for money, why waste 11.2lac for a Hyundai 8 months wait time. The KING has arrived, go and fall in love with it (Diesel Elegance) :) 09/10
Areas of improvement Floor divider in rear, Inclussion of USB, Reverse sensor has to be there in a 11 lac car,Steering mount controls,no mention of version in the rear (i.e Ambition or Elegance etc).

Exterior Exteriors of the car are nice. With front and rear fog lamps, the looks are great from the front. Though side and the back profile is kind of Vento-ish.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) The car comes with ABS, driver side airbag etc. which is good at this price. The car is quite spacious at the back with decent amount of rear legroom. The quality of the plastics in general is good and it gives a feel-good feeling. The only feature which is the lacking at this price is the lack of Audio equipment. If not the audio system, then at least a set of speakers at the front and the back should come as standard. The other point of concern is the raised back shelf which hinders the rear view while reversing.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine & Performance- The engine is absolute silent at idle and one is hard pressed to know if the car is actually running. Skoda has done a good job at insulation though the engine is not that refined. The engine does get a bit coarse while revving hard but the power comes in linearly and the car is QUICK. Skoda has intentionally reduced the gear ratios and that is immediately evident. The car picks up speed right from 15-20kmph in the 3rd gear. What the reduced gear ratios has done is that it has given the vehicle great drivability and there is no need of frequent gear changes in the city.
Gearbox- The car comes with one of the slickest gearboxes. The throw is precise and swift.
FE- Currently the car is giving me 11.5kmpl in the city, which is predominantly stop and go traffic. Personally I think this is good.
Ride Quality & Handling Ride Quality and Handling is one of the best in the segments. The car is absolutely stable even in the speeds ranging 140-150kmph. It does a great job in masking speed. The steering is very light which is a boon in the city and weighs up nicely at high speeds inspiring confidence. Aided by ABS, the car is stable under hard braking.
Final Words Initial expressions for the vehicle are good. Its just been a couple of thousand kms till now. Lets see how it does in the long run.

Exterior Skoda has managed to revamp a seemingly good exterior design of the vento into a more bold and muscular one with the restyled bonnet and the typical skoda grille.The sedate front end was the least exciting part of the vento and the rapid has added a lot of character to it.The rear end again, with the prism like styling near the number plate has made the rear end more fuller and bulbous making the rear end seem more like that of a bigger car.The side profile which is exactly vento has not been touched and for good measure.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Nothing much to add. Very similar to vento. I didnt like the brown plastics,black or grey was classier,no steering audio control.skoda should have restyled the interior to typical skoda flair. Interior space is unmatched.Dashboard could have been lower....the one thing i hated even in the vento.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Gem of an engine, felt similar to vento, thouh apparently the engine has been retuned and so has the suspension which supposedly has been made softer than the vento. steering is lighter than the vento.As in the vento, the engine is a delight to drive. never feels out of steam or strained for that matter, overtaking is effortless in any gear. takes the stress out of a journey.
Ride Quality & Handling A little on the stiffer side, gets softer as speed increases, good when the car is loaded.
Final Words A value for money car, with great space on offer and whats more a delicious engine to boot.
Areas of improvement Interior restyling could have been done. Interior typical skoda richness lacking. Looks like a classy and staid volkswagen. Tyres skinny because of the wheel arches.

I have this strange habit of trying new cars and i rue the fact that i gambled on Skoda Rapid. Though i am still positive with the looks which compelled me in buying this Car. But the car has some inherent defects Which is generally with almost every new product. You are luck if you dont face those bugs, i was unlucky one :(
First of all dealer serive is very bad in Gurgaon. There is only 2 show rooms and both owned by same owner hence complete monopoly. Behaviour wise and support wise you will face the same problems faced in any other monopolistic market.
I bough this Car on 6th March 2012 from Giriraj Gurgaon. Waiting time was not to much and i got car with in 10 days. With a month car's wheel started giving problem. When i reached Service center....man man...you better be careful if buying this car in Gurgaon !! My experience has been horrible . No Support service, no one to guide you properly, mishandling of cars is common sight, exorbitant charges, Charges on even new cars under warranty and list goes on endless.
So about wheel balancing and alingment, my car was going in left while driving and start quivering at the speed of 90. I went to service centre and after much harrasssment got my car in 3 days. And much to my amusement car again started giving ripples and moving left at the speed of around 110 Now. Within 3 days i went back stating this problem and i was informed that i will be charged this time for rectifying this problem.
After persuation they didn't charge me but again kept car for a long time. I have to visit show room thrice , taking leave from my office everytime, but much to my agony ..car was not ready.Meanwhile My Car A/C also went non-functional which they said is a perpatual problem with this car and would take a week to fix.
And third time Car started giving fluctations on the speed of 60 -70 to which service person told me that SKODA RAPID has this problem and he cant solve this. I have to bear with this. Many Skoda Rapid are facing the same problem.
So i am clueless what to do with my 3 months old car which can not be rectified !!
My only advise to the buyers is , dont buy a Newly launched car in its first year . Wait so that company remove all the bugs based on the feedback recieved from the reckless buyers like me :)

Final Words I bought a car in Feb-2012 till the date i purchase my car from more than 30 days my car is in, the service center for repair of minor manufacturing fault but till the date my car is not repaired. Each and every engineer in scoda moters like Mr. Rahul kulkarni in gurgaon promissed on telephonic conversation but my car is not repaired today my car is in the company showroom, at C&T moters meerut the scoda cars showroom for that minor fault i left my car there for 4-5 times in the showroom. My car is still there with the company for the same fault.
Areas of improvement Nobady purchase this car.

Exterior good look
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) review mirror need to improve at night time. Defogger is not installed properly. Head light of backside vehicle is scattered. Back review mirror should be installed to make the visibility during reverse.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox excellent performance
Ride Quality & Handling It seems to be a very good experience as on date with 9 k KM. It feel very sturdy and stable however sometime initial pick-up is lacking while overtaking.
Final Words Overall experience Good but worst service experience. I am having problem which is open since last 10 days but no buddy is responding as on date. I bought car from Europa in Pune and faced worst customer support experience as compared to Tata Motors and Maruti cars I am having.
I have escalated to Skoda customer support as well but no action till date.
I hope to get this resolved or don’t know how to enforce company to resolve my problems.

Exterior Just awesome, though looks are always subjective differing from person to person, But I strongly feel that you don't need all those curves to make something look muscular like in the case of verna fluidic. Rapid from every angle outside looks like a powerful car, much fuller than vento.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Interiors are exactly same as vento, and that's where I think skoda could have done something better. I mean we don't want similar car being sold on two diffrent names. Though we all have accepted that interiors of polo and vento are very practical and built material used is of top quality so the same goes for rapid as well. Good space, hieght adjust and steering adjust is just a good option making driving bit stress free for people of diffrent hieght.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine is the same for both vento and rapid. Fabia lacked in petrol engine, so I was expecting skoda this time around to work on it to offer a better petrol version, but disappointingly it remians the same, compare it with city and ut beats rapid hands down. But talk about the diesel version, I bet my money on its performance to be best in class. It has has good mid range, has got nice accelartion, drive it in city or highway, you won't be complaining about the performance.
Ride Quality & Handling You be in the driving seat or be in the back seat, you'll be comfortable. It has got nice space. Very good at cornering at some sharp turns, ABS helps you take good control at high speeds. Steering is very responsive and gives you confidence while driving. You won't need gear change too often, so simply enjoy the ride.
Final Words Nicely priced, good space, comfort, Looks, disel engine etc etc etc. Well I mean if you already had enough of hyundai or suzuki, and want to try some european machine, you should consider it seriously.

Final Words Car is good but the service is too bad i purchased skoda rapid diesel in january at gurudhev motors arumbakkam chennai for ten days i had my car with me due to som scratches and dent on my car i gave for service at vadapalani gurudev motors service station they had to replace my door and the gave the delivery date after a month and they told that the car is ready after 45 day when .iwent there at 3pm and the made me wait till 7pm giving the reason car is in water wash and polishing then when i saw the car i noticed that the have scratched my car rear bumper and skoda emblem was damaged and they accepted that it was their mistak and they will rectify that same day another fabia coustomer also found that his rear skoda symbol was damaged they took another 15 days to rectify that and when i took the delivery i notised that they made scratches on my fronr bumper i was really fed up and i don want to leave my car there any more so i took the car with me before they make further damage.

Hi, I have gone through many peolple reviews for this car. Think most of it are biased and to make bad mouth about the brand Skoda. I've my rapid 1.6 TDI elegance CR MT and m most happy with the car.
I've run the vehicle around 28000 kms. It's hassle free. I on't comment on interior, exterior as many car gurus doing only this in their reviews.
My experience with the vehicle is driven zt 70 kmph with some keenness n it gave fuel economy > 30 kmpl ( not joking ). I driven around 1500 kms in 55 ltr diesel .
It's driving capability is really unmatched with other cars in segment. It's equipped with adequate safety features. Completely owner driven. you can enjoy the drive as long as you want.
You padle hard it gives you performance. You padle light it gives you optimum efficiency.
Maintenance : - I have good experience wiith skoda dealer shrine auto kolhapur, Service cost - 5500 rs. for 15000 kms servicing. not bad.
I had compared Verna, city diesel, sunny n vento while purchasing this car. Technically it stood superior than all . the 1. TDI engine is really balanced for economy n performance.
I suggest to people looking for sedan in this segment in few words as below,
"Never use degraded n unsafe car which has good resale value , but go for
this car for safe n pleasure n have owner satisfaction"

Exterior Exterior The car has the classic Skoda front and good overall looks. The car has a masculine look and at the same time it's. a eye catcher!
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) very comfort car in sedan level,The interiors are extremely appealing and simply by the looks, are better that its cousin, the Vento. The overall seating is very comfortable. The interiors look sophisticated. The material used in the car is very nice and gives one a very rich feeling,and you actually feel it!
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox good pick up,no noice in engineGoing by the performance of earlier Skodas, no one should worry about the Engine performance. Having driven a few hundred Kms by now, I can say that engine, clutch, and gearbox are the smoothest. The Gearbox for the automatic version is sleek and neat while other Manual transmission is smooth too.
