My Car (Fabia 1.2 pertrol) is only 2.5 Months old and got into a major problem, On Oct 19th 2011 I was driving and suddenly ratling noise came from the front engine side and i stopped the vehicle and checked for any logs or any crap material getting into my engine side and found nothing. Again i tried to start the engine and move, but the sound increased and the car didnot move at all. I called the customer service and they arranged a vehicle to shift my vehicle to workshed in Sanath Nagar (Hyderabad). I got a shocker from the workshop saying that my vehicle's front axil has come done or broken and they were insiting on claiming insurance. I was deeply disappointed hearing this and i insisted on the bad quality of the car and not on any rash driving or accident. For such a hype for German engineering and Czech desing what i got was a Flopper Crap. Only today afternoon the workshop manager accepted that it is a manufacturing defect and said he will soon rectify it. Too bad. Extremely disappointed. Let us see what happens. Beware of these kind of issues before buying Skoda Fabia. If anyone had gone through such trouble please update me. Anand.

Frankly speaking, I got attracted by the on-road price of the 1.2 MPI Ambienet version. However, after studying in detail and comapring with the other available choices (actually there were none) and features, I zeroed down on 1.4 TDI Elegance (High end) version and bought the same.
This is a great car with really best interiors. The black-biege dual colour interior is really interesting. There are a lot of features packed inside the car.
The engine is little bit noisy. It is sluggish before the turbo kicks-off. However, after the turbo effect, the car zoooms.
The driver and co-driver seats are highly comfortable. Three way adjustments help a lot. The rear seats seat three passengers comfortably. However the tunnel in the rear area is too high for the hatch.
The utilities are La Jawaab. Particularly the aux-in port. I could attach my iPod easily. The OE fitted radio is great. But the car comes fitted with only 4 speakers. Additional 4 speakers in rear would have been best and would not have costed much..! The cool glovebox is an innovative idea. The door trims also have good utility space along with the bottle holder.
The most amazing thing is the boot. Like a entry level sedan or even more than that. It hold three large size bags. The parcel shelf can be adjusted at two levels giving you the flexibility for different size parcels.
Haven't yet calculated the mileage. However I am sure, she won't displease me.
I would recommend to those
1. Who are ready to pay little extra for the quality
2. Who want a diesel economy
3. Who want exclusive hatch

After 7 months waiting I purchased Skoda Fabia on 31st January 2008
from Oberai moter ,Dehradun. Becoz no agency of Skoda Auto in Agra.
Run my car up to 2000 km., I.e. about 1000 km. drive in city
& another 1000 km. on highway. I noted down the average of 28 km. per liter fuel without the use of A.C.
I’m also using Honta City , in comparison Fabia is more resistant & firm on the road of U.P. providing reliable journey .
Some fellows are also comparing Fabia with Swift but Fabia stands far batter than Swift in every aspect (Engine & Comfort)
In Fabia engine sound little bit noisy comparatively to other luxury cars due to ‘Pump Duce’ engine tech., after running 4000 or 5000 km. engine sound decrease up to 75%.
In the end I would like to conclude as a satisfied customer. That skoda fabia is realy good sporty luxury selling. And would give 5 star rating.

I have had the opportunity of driving the Ambiente today, as I was offered test drive by the company. First, about the company showroom that i visited impressed me. I found all my queries well answered and this satisfied me! The staff was courteous.
Anyways, not wasting any more words on the showroom, and more about the vehicle. As far as its exterior is concerned, yes no doubt the car looks well grounded, and their is an air to it. Clearly the car doesnt appear to be made for the masses and caters to the well established avant-garde!
The vehicle overall is sturdy and stable at high speed (i drove it at about 110 effortlessly); the dashboard cluster boasts of high quality plastics, displays are clear and comfortable. There is a feel of quality overall in the interior. Seats are comfortable too and despite its low height (i am 5'10 tall) i found myself comfortable because of adjustment in seat height and steering wheel.
I am not too sure how the vehicle behave in hills/rough unmetalled roads with potholes. Has someone driven it on high altitude roads and seen its performance? Perhaps those inputs may be helpful..
I enquired from Skoda about reasons for expensive spare parts. I was told that it is due to the fact that more than 60% parts are all imported. I hope it is true; if it is then surely there is a point. So a comprehensive insurance is the only recourse for replacing broken parts!
I feel its comparison with cars like swift is a incorrect as these belong to different segments. Now with Punto and I20 and Jazz (the latter two are only petrol versions so far); we may realise that it is afterall not as expensive as we thought it to be initially!!
Overall, it is a decent package from Skoda. I like it and I am convinced it should be bought.

Final Words feeling cheated to buy this vehicle, dealer misbehaved and not responding to customer satisfaction I was offered maintenace free scheme for skoda fabia by heak auto nasik but they charged Rs 20,000 for just keeping my car at their workshop and made an estimate for repair work more than the cost of vehicle and compelled me to repair the vehicle outside.my mobile no,09429474101/09427452504 i suffered great loss and harasment by the dealer and compelled me to sale the vehicle and told me to buy new vehicle from them.
Areas of improvement Check the dealers and listen to the problems of customers and punish the staff trying to cheat the customers if skoda wants to improve sales in small car section. dealer cheated me with Rs 20000 for nothing.

Exterior Exterior looks is very much sturdy and tough.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Good leg space, Very much comfortable while driving it specifically on highway.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Noisy engine (deisel as well petrol), You can sense vibration of car in steering.
Final Words When you buy this car you will really proud to have a Skoda brand in your hand but if you face any technical problem then that would be the worst day and you will curse yourself that why you bought this car(specifically in pune Europa). Technitian will treat your vehicle just like they have never seen any four wheeler... and as if first time they are resolving the problem. Even for small problem you have to keep your vehicle for minimum 3-4 days. If they fix you problem make sure it is fixed and no other problem is introduced. Because after two year I was so much confident about them that while giving my car during second servicing I told the engineer that please dont try to test any part of my car just replace oil and do whatever is needed for basic servicing. But still when I got my car back after 1 week I have to resend my car 2-3 times and still my problem is not resolved. Even after Servicing if you get the feedback call and if you are not satisfied with the service the feedback call is of no use. Even I sent a mail to skoda customer care but they dont have a simple courtesy to call back and get the information. I don't want to talk about dealer or manager available at service station. They are good for nothing. If I look at technical staff I want to suggest them either they should give some training to the staff or close this big brand workshop and open a good sophisticated garrage.
They are simply making fool of customer and unfortuanatly I am one of them:(. They are just earning money, but I am sure if they continue with same behavour, they have to shutdown the bussiness because I can see the service which customer get from other dealers in pune. Hope they will improve and customer who already bought Skoda will get some value for money.
After such a big mental torture by this dealers atlast I sold out my car and I swear I will not buy and never suggest Skoda to any one atleast in Pune. I am happy today getting rid of it.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Good Space for passengers and driver , huge bootspace 30L , Rear seat is more comfortable then Polo and Punto.Good looking Black dashboard, world class palstic but No Power window!
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Excellent, Fuel economy 18 L per km and toy like smooth gearshift.
Ride Quality & Handling Ride Q is very good like a sedan car , servie intervels are 15000kms so owenership is economical.
Final Words I almost filasied Fabia Classic TDI but when we observe the minimum front power windows are required for me , i have tlk with dealership for arrange the powerwindows system but they could not respond properly. the I have booked FIAT Punto Active. I know I compromise in Plastic q and Airbag but what can i do? In the new Fabia rear view is old faishned also. Why should i pay 6.25 Lakh for a nonpower window vehicle. For Quality lovers it is a amazing car to drive and own.
Areas of improvement Pls provide minimum two power windows.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Luxury feel, good leg room for front seat, i am 6.2 ft tall and i can fit in comfortably in the front seat, leg room on rear side a bit congested (draw back of all hatch backs), powerfull AC, stearing position adjustment gives a good option to get a relaxed position for long drive.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Good engine performance, need to check fuel economy, unusual reverse gear (Comparing to Indian cars). Little big naggy when we accelerate from slow speed at gear 4 and 5.
Ride Quality & Handling Smooth at higher speed. Excellent steering wheel.
Final Words Excellent hatch back, must buy if u want to be different from all the Swift's, Ritz's which are seen every where.
Areas of improvement Need to provide remote central locking system from Ambient level, Doors can be oppened from inside even when the vehicle is moving- Dangerous with kids, need to look in to it, remote fuel lid opening facility should be provided.

I own my Skoda Fabia 1.4TDI ambiente from september 2009.I am enjoying the ride every time. I had only few options on diesel hatchbacks with Airbags and ABS in 2009. I had i20 CRDI and Grande Punto as options. Somehow I was not inclined for i20. I felt the handling was bit cumbersome.
Grande punto has less rear leg room space. Also I owned Fiat Palio for 5 years and I dont want to get Fiat car again.There was No Ford Figo Titanium, No swift ZDI, No VW Polo Highline (Sorry if I missed anyother car). When I had a seen Fabia I liked the looks, Quality of interiors, Ride quality, safety features and Build quality. After test driving I found handling and Maneuvering was the best. The compromise was on the engine noise when outside the cabin. The excellent insulation does not allow noise to be transparent inside the cabin.
First year or 10000 kms:
The first year was hassle free. I enjoyed couple of sturdy long drives even at triple digit speeds. The rough road package keeps the under chasis covered and avoids any damages to the parts which are exposed. My city drive had kept my car engaged only for 500 - 700 kms for a month. I had to damage my left front and left rear alloy wheels on a trip to Triupathi. I got it replaced by insurance. Both the wheels would have costed Rs. 18000. The first service costed me Rs 4500 approx which was a free service. My city mileage was 11kms and highway was 18kms.
Second Year or 20000 kms:
After the first service My car started to give 12-13kms in city and 19 - 21kms on highway. The parking area in my house was very small which required lot of work with the steering. I guess this generated some noise from the steering. I took to the service center and they replaced the power steering rod in warranty and issue got fixed. From then on I decided not to steer sharply while parking in stationary mode. There were couple of free check up camps by Skoda which I utilised. I had also had issues with the AC. It was checked and found the fan motor did not run. This was also replaced in warranty. The wait time to get back the car after service was not reasonable. I wanted to sign up for extended warranty and when contacted I was disappointed to know that it cannot be availed. The new version of skoda Fabia comes with 2+2 years warranty with road side assistance. This clearly indicates that the 1.4 TDI was not in prioirity for skoda. One of the tyres started to show buldge and I had to replace and keep as standby. Soon after the second service the AC issue again started to show up. The service guys again replaced the AC Fan motor and they promised that the issue will not come again.
Final Words I am keeping my fingers crossed on the forthcoming services and issues. I am amazed by the quality shown by Skoda in every aspect in this car. Yes Skoda is truely obssessed by quality.

Exterior The new facelift version looks bold and awesome with the new front foglamps and the DRL lights its got the style and class above all hatchbacks.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) When you sit inside the car you are totally cut from the outside world, no noticable engine noise and the seats are like butter, shocks are awesome and you do not feel those bumps, stereo equipment is good with 4 speakers in the front its rocking and nice clarity of music comapred to my old car stereo equipment, with MFI display you have a lot of information at your disposal and is useful(Mileage,speed etc)
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Fuel economy of about 12KM in bangalore traffic and about 17 outside seems better than my santro for a petrol engine.
Pickup is bit slow but the top end and braking is excellent with features like ABS,brake Assist,EBC,MSR. Safety features also include airbags and shear bolt (Prevents engine from entering the body in case of collision).
Reason for discarding other brands
Polo - Less discount, difficult for 6footer to sit inside
I20 - Inside built quality naaaaa... and have heard of problems related to power steering but it has good safety features, but less discount.
Ford figo - Small car and quality of materials not so good and safety features also not upto the mark.
Maruti - did not even check as the swifts are tooo common.
Micra - Looks and service centers are not well distributed, though not much idea about the car.
Ride Quality & Handling Very stable and reliable.
Final Words People thinking for this car is a better option than the polo, as long as after sales service is considered its all the same compared to all manufactures, I had problems with hyundai also so I cant blame skoda as allmanufacturese sail in the same boat, some dealers are good some are worst and more over its all your luck.
Areas of improvement Can include rear wiper, cimate control ac and EOVRM with indicators and some european fabia stuff.

Good mileage for a petrol hatch back awesome comfort and sturdy vehicle.
