Exterior It looks great from outside and has a deceptive feel of a larger car. A sure shot head turner, I have seen people on road turning around and taking photos on their phones and in office parkings.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Front seats provide great support, i have driven it for close to 900 kms now and did not face any pain in the back, it also feels like you are driving a much larger car. Boot space is excellent, I have installed a subwoofer and still have space for large baggages. Ride quality is super, I have driven over bumps and potholes and the car stays extremely stable and soaks up everything. Typical Duster ride quality in small form factor. Rear space is great too but they could have given more rear seat space by reducing the boot a little.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine is noisy at cold start but it settles down once warmed up, but once you are driving and all windows are closed, you really dont hear anything, so its not a problem at all. Renault service guys said it'll reduce even more after first 2 services. The engine and gearbox is much smoother now from day 1, gear changes are smooth and i can do it with 2 fingers. Gear lever does not vibrate like Eon. I have calcuated mileage twice using tankful to tankful method, on first time it gave 19kmpl and on next fill up it gave 21 kmpl. I have driven 60% in city and 40% in highways.
The car is extremely stable at higher triple digit speeds and feel much more comfortable than my old alto, but body roll is present when you turn at high speeds. Engine is smooth and pulls well unless you let the revs drop below 800 rpm. I have driven with 4 people and AC on and in 1st gear the car climbs up shopping mall ramps easily, you just need to make sure you are in 1st gear. It wont climb easily on 2nd being a 800cc.
Ride Quality & Handling Ride quality is good, NVH levels inside are well controlled, and on steady cruise you dont hear the engine noise much. If you floor the paddle thats when you hear the engine crying. With high ground clearance it can cross bumps even with 4 passengers without scraping the bottom.
Steering is very light, but after a U turn it does not auto center, so you need to manually do it. Apart from that it's easy to drive in city traffic.
Final Words I feel its a good car and well worth the money at this price. The medianav touchscreen is good too but the included speakers are crap. I upgraded to JBL speakers for rear, soundgate amp and Alpine subwoofer. Now it sounds rokcing. I also upgraded headlamp bulbs to Philips extremevision. The car even though being a hatchback feels like a much larger car you are driving due to its amazing ride quality and height. I am happy with the car as well as the renault sales team (so far). I booked on 17th September and got delivery on 31st October and it was a smooth delivery experience. I was also taken on a workshop tour and met the service manager there who said Renault is very serious about this car. Overall if your budget is less than 4.5 and can wait, go with this eyes closed. If you can extend your budget then you have other better options.
Areas of improvement The engine noise could have been reduced by using more damping materials, but its not a concern once you are inside the car with windows rolled up. Rear space could have been more by reducing boot space, 300L boot is nice to have but who needs it regularly?

Exterior Though Kwid is 98% made in India, which attractade me to buy Renault KWID RXL. Compared to Maruti Alto 800, Alto K10, Maruti Celerio, Ignis I feel exterior is much better compared to any other car in segment.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) As soon as you enter in the car MIND YOUR HEAD if you are 6'0 feet or more taller. I may not suggest to use back seats if your hight is no between 5'0 Feet to 5'8 Feet. Audio system is made of cheap quality plastics and rubber buttens which are very hard to use.
cabin space is decent compared to Alto 800 & Alto K10.
Air conditioning is very powerful which will toruble you in rainy seasons. You may not able to drive in rain because of fog gets deposited at much higer rate which will reduce your visibility of roads and you may endup with joyful drive in rain with open windows regardless you want that or not!!!!
If you are not habituated with noise of Diesel engine in cabin then this car is definately not for you. As its Petrol car, It does generate ample of noise inside/outside like TRACTOR which will give you bit noisy enviornment inside/outside of car. After discussing with Service center folks, they cleary asked me accept noise as its known to manufaturer and assured by manufacturer. NOTHING CAN BE DONE!!!!!

* I drive Renault KWID RXL atleast 70 Kms a day which is costing me 5.50 Ruppes per Kelometer. I have completed 3200 kelometers in past 2 months of purchase. Means where is the milage??? 25.17 KMPL!!! its should cost me max to max 3 to 3.50 rupees/kelometer. If you are thinking tro buy this car because of milage then drop your planse ASAP. You may end up with 13.42 KMPL.
* In city, you may not able to shift gear up to 5th as accelaration and transmission lacks power. If you are habituated to shift gears from 4rth to 3rd/ 5th to 4rth on road breakers - BE READY FOR GERK FROM GEARBOX.
* Compared to Alto 800 & Alto K10 who has much better performance with CNG fitted KIT than NON CNG FITTED KWID.
* If you are thing to transform Kwid to CNG then DONT DO IT. you may end with ENGINE FAILURE. For example visit, Service center where you may find at least one KWID which engine failed beacuse of CNG. Which is not covered in Warrenty.
Final Words I would suggest to save some more money to by much better car than these segment rather than wasting all you money which you have saved till date.
Areas of improvement Improvements: Engine Noise, Milage, Gearbox, AC. I think relauch with this improvements or Renault may end up like GM.

My First Car :) Booked Renault Kwid Through Kwid App in September and Luckily got the Car on October 21 from Chandigarh.Great Looks, Good Road Presence, Definitely a Looker.
More Spacious if compared to eon and alto, comfortable Seats, Rear Seats also has sufficient Leg Room, enough space for my Family :). Did not buy the top model so no touch Screen unit (was not a necessity in my case) on the Dashboard. But still even without the that Dashboard Looks good and Simplistic.AC performance decent too but the real test will be in next Summers. Quality of Plastic used not great but not too bad either as you should expect in a 3 lac car. Music Lovers will need an upgrade as the music System performance just OK.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Have driven 600kms by Now and getting a mileage of around 18-19 in city and 23-24 on highways - so no complaints here. Only annoying thing is the engine noise when it starts- but yes once on the move the noise doesnt creep into the cabin.Gear shifting is easy, Steering light and easy to manouvre. Driving uphill is a bit challenging (Thats where you feel its an 800 cc car after all) initially but once you know how to use the controls its not that Hard (My Experience :P).
Ride Quality & Handling Ride Quality is up to the mark, highground clearance does make its presence felt - helping u drive over with small potholes and obstructions with ease.

Exterior Good style and Design. No one expects it is 800CC, it makes people turn their heads towards the car.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Good boot space and leg room space. Three people for shot distance and two people for long distances is quite comfortable in d rear seat.Good music system.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Though engine makes little sound but am ok with that. Gearbox is good.need to talk specially on mileage. Here in the reviews people are lying about the mileage. I drove 1500kms in 52 days, 900kms in city and 600kms on highways. I promise am getting 18-19kmpl in city with A.C and 21-22 kmpl with A.C on highways.Am totally satisfied with the mileage as I was expecting same only though company says 25kmpl. Please do go with the digital meter because it just shows from starting, its get increased by usage. calculate mileage on your own.
Ride Quality & Handling Happy with the ride quality, handling and pick up. This is my first car so am ok with it. People who drives 1200CC and more may not like it, but remind guys it just 800CC. Engine Sound got reduced after mechanic applying some greese. But little accelerator sound is der which cannot be reduced as mechanic said.
Final Words Am totally happy till now with the car. Thankyou Renault for the wonderful car. People who are of middle class can enjoy with it. Sales dealer is very hectic. Exterior Exteriors Look Good And Stunning.. The Real Cost Cutting Can Be Seen Inside The Car. Exteriors Are Pretty Cool To Fall In Love With.. But Wait! Intreiors Are Just Opposite.

Cost Cuttings Can Be Seen Clearly. Like The Non Retractable Seat Belts(Rear Seating),Which May Disturb You A Bit & The Lesser Comfort And Low Quality Coushioning. Boot Space Is 300 Ltrs. But Again Low On Practicality, As Suspension Interferes In The Boot Space(Not Fully Useable).. The Center Console Looks Nice.

The Test Drive Person Was Continuously Switching A/C On-Off When I Was Driving In Initial Gears As The Pickup Is Very Much Affected By A/C, I Felt Certain Vibrations,Which Made This Small Light Car Feel Like Very Heavy,Bulky And Underpowered. (May Be Due To Heavy Useage Of Demo Vehicle) But Its No Different Than Normal Car Will Experience After A Few Thousands Of Kilometers..The Noise Level May Rise After A Couple Of Years.
Ride Quality & Handling The Suspension On The Car Was Good, Steering Was Just Ok. The Brakes Are Not So Much Smooth As They Make You Feel The Jerks On Even Very Small Application Of Brakes.. The Leg Space Provided Is Pretty Enough For Mid Height Passangers. The Engine Noise Feels That Engine Is Not Going In Hand With The Rest Of The Car.
Final Words Renault Kwid Is A Feature Packed Car With Ample Of Features But The Main Disappointment Is Its Engine..Not Well Refined As Its Competitiors Have... You Are Spending Your Valueable Money,So Buy A Car That Will Last Longer.. Waiting Periods Makes The Dealer Not To Bargain From The Prices In Their Lists As They Say We Dont Give Any Discounts On Waiting Cars And Charge For Unecessary Itms...(Which Are As Optional But They Say Its Compulsary).
Areas of improvement Go For Alto K10 Which Has A More Refined&Powerfull(1000cc K Series Engine). Afterall The Main Part Of A Car Is Its Engine And You Should Not Compromise On It At The Cost Of Features. All The Best.. Select Wisely.

I bought this carin may 2016 after a wait period of 3 and half months, And i must say it is not worth the wait, i'm not enjoyning the drive in traffic as the engine make horrible irritating noise in 1st and 2nd gear, although you can hear it less in 3rd and above gears, you can live with the noise, serioulsy the engine of the car is very bad, with no power when compared to alto which is 800cc as well.
I am very unhappy with the milage, im getting 10-12kmpl in city traffic with AC, im hoping i'll get a good mileage after the 1st service.
I'm very impressed with the exterior looks and i added alloys wheels (18k) which made the looks of the car even more awesome, doesnt look like a cheap car when you have alloy wheels.
All in all not a nice car, I took loan and got this car, its sad to say i'm going to sell this car very soon and will have huge loss.
Renault you guys failed...!!!

Very stylish and good looking. It looks like a mini-SUV. At this segment, no other car looks as good as this car, surely a head-turner.

Very spacious at this segment; feels a bigger car. Very good leg space and boot space is class leading.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox
Overall good. Fuel economy is good at 18 KM in city and 20 on highways. I am hoping to see this continuing to improve.
Ride Quality & Handling
Ride quality is very impressive. The car is very easy to handle. The stearing wheel is very nice and easy to handle; it seems light in lower gears and on highways, it is a little heavy and the car seems very stable. City riding is very comfortable.

Perhaps, the pick up needs to be improved. Particularly when AC is on, the car struggles a little.

Exterior : The BEST IN CLASS. It's a USP for the car. No one could've asked for more from a 3.5 lac rupees car. Apart from the outdated side mirrors, Renault has just hit the right note in designing each and every detail in the exterior body. Put accessories like roof rails and some chrome packaging and the car becomes a head-turner 😎
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) : Interior quality is pretty satisfying when keeping in mind what ALTO 800 has to offer. The touch screen audio/navigation system (though not a soft touch) sets it a class high from it rivals.
Front seats are pretty comfortable even for long drives. A 6 feet guy like me can also adjust in the rear seat as well.
I like the way Renault has given ample space to keep your water bottles, mobile phones , car papers and other tit-bits. With 2 glove boxes and with one extra shelf in the dashboard you would find a place to keep almost any small stuffs you carry for a long journey. Not to forget the 300 lt bootspace which can rival the likes of i20 also.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox : Engine is a bit noisy at idling and in 1st -2nd gear. I read it somewhere that the idling RPM is being intentionally set high may be to extract a better avg. The noise may irk people who drive petrol cars, But it smoothens once you start hitting higher gears and cross 30km/hr. I touched speed of around 115km/hr with AC and the car/steering didn't shake a bit. You won't find the same with Alto 800.
Though the odometer is still under 3000 km, the car showed an average of ~ 20km/l by the time i finished my 270 km highway journey ;). That's pretty cool keeping in mind it's a petrol engine and the car is just 3K Kms old. 😄
Gearbox is not as smooth as you find in the Alto800 but it gets the job done pretty fairly.
Ride Quality & Handling : This would be another area where Kwid outshines the Alto800. I feel the major difference is the suspension tuning. I drove this car on bad hilly roads also but it was taking all the pot holes and uneven patches firmly and without much hassles. It doesn't quite upsets it's balance on sharp turns either. The steering is quite light and at times it feels like a kid's job to manoeuvre it. Though it's light but is quite stable in high speeds and doesn't give you goosebumps.
The downside are the brakes. I am not sure one would be able to avoid collisions in case of emergencies. The car doesn't stop in a safe distance when you drive at speeds > 60 km/hr. The problem worsens if you have 3-4 people in the car and going downhill. I have already raised a complaint to Renault for this.
Final Words : Overall Renault has done a great job with this Car. I have in between made comparisons to Alto800 since that's the car its majorly competing with and we should not really compare it to higher segment hatchbacks. If Renault's increasing dealer n/w can match up to the after sales service of Maruti, I am sure Alto's reign as a market leader in this segment would be over soon.
Areas of improvement
1. Should definitely have an ABS option. There are many people like me who won't mind paying the extra 20K just to get that necessary safety feature.
2, Oil Sump should be changed to a metal body. Already Renault is facing consumer complaint for this.

Exterior This is the only good thing in Renault Kwid. Except the outer looks and design evertthing si worst.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Good space. Cheap plastic is used. Touchscreen responce si not good. Nois from all windows whe car is running on rough surface. Back side seat belt is a complete mess.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine becomes dead at lower speed if AC is on. Lower gears becomes hard to shift at times. Nocking sound in lower gears. Too much vibration and noise. 13 kmpl in City though 22 on highways.
Ride Quality & Handling Worst driving experience in slow moving traffic. Driving becomes easy and smooth when it crosses speed of 35 km/h. Breaks does not work at time. Driving this car is a threat to life.
Final Words If you are considering only design then go for it but later you will regret you decision when you will feel lot of issue while driving the car.
Areas of improvement Renault really need to work hard on this car. Only design will not work for longer time. Performance is not good at all.

I own a DUSTER since 2013, been a loyal customer, I won't even get a simple wheel rotation done outside.
Always gave excellent feedback. I liked Renault that much. I wish to still do. Be it a simple consultation or a regular service, have always liked the guys at Service (Bangalore & Coimbatore).
But recently, I went to buy a KWID (Coimbatore), the sales guys didn't help in any way, I waited eagerly for the launch of KWID AMT, I asked for a call when the bookings open, but got no info/calls, I specifically wanted to use any early bird offers.
Ultimately, I went back and test drove it. I asked for Loyalty benefits & discounts, they gave me nothing, no proper answer and none of the sales guys really stick to their promise of calling and talking.
No Link or Data between After sales, Service and Sales.
I am happy to go to a competitor now.
Reviewers please quote the actual price of the car, stop misleading others that this is a 4 Lakh Car, it's not, it is a 5 Lakh+ Car.
Sales guys themselves say lower variants of 1 Litre Manual and 800 CC KWIDs are not good :). This should sum it up.
I am an Engineer working in Automotive Industry,So here we go:
KWID is AMT, Automated Manual Transmission, not Automatic Transmission. But it's not a killer difference but a need to know.
The lower Models/Variants do have a stiffer steering, the AMT was quite fluid.
It has interior space and is slightly bigger than it's equivalent.
The Accelerator/Acceleration will take some getting used to, when you are at 0 speed(stopped at a signal), you need to gradually press the Accelerator, otherwise there is a fair shiver.
Suspension is not best in class, ride one wheel up a elevated man hole, the other wheel will tilt.
One key point Sales guys don’t mention, the Under-chassis is un-covered or completely open. Just because the car has high ground clearance, if you plan to drive through ankle to knee high water to prove it’s a KWID, you’ll gush in water in to all the Electrical and electronic sub-systems.
For a Indian brand you’ll get a rubberized or plastic under-chassis cover, not fr the KWID.
KWID is a Small Frame Big "Fancy clothed fat Kid", how will it's safety be? Only time will tell.
KWID is not made of gold, it's a bold new venture, car purchase has aftermath, hopefully Renault can live up to it.
