I PURCHASED NISSAN SUNNY FROM EVM NISSAN CALICUT LAST MONTH. TILL BOOKING THE CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS EXCELLENT. AFTER THAT TILL TODAY IT WAS A NIGHTMARE FOR ME.THIS IS MY 5TH VEHICLE AND HERE I EXPERIENCED LOT OF NEW THINGS. THOUGH THEY CHARGED 6500/- AS VEHICLE REGISTRATION CHARGES,THEY FORCED ME TO TAKE MY VEHICLE FOR RTO TESTING MY OWN AND THEY SAID THERE IS SHORTAGE OF MANPOWER IN THEIR DEALERSHIP.DURING THE BOOKING, DISTANCE FROM MY OFFICE TO DEALERSHIP WAS A CASE OF WORRY FOR ME. BUT THE SALES OFFICER ASSURED ME THAT WILL NOT BE AN ISSUE AS THEY WILL DO PICK UPS FOR SERVICE.UNFORTUNATLY I MET WITH AN ACCIDENT LAST WEEK, WITH IN 1000KMS AND IN THAT PANIC SITUATION I CALLED THE DEALER FOR ASSISTANCE AND THEY SAID THERE IS NO BODY TO ASSIST YOU BUT TO BRING THE VEHICLE TO DEALERSHIP. SURPRISES ARE NOT ENDING HERE. I HAVE CORPORATE INSURANCE FOR MY VEHICLE.THEY SAID YOU HAVE TO COMPLETE INSURANCE PROCEDURES YOUR OWN AS THEY HAD NOT GOT ANY COMMISION FROM THIS INSURANCE. SO I RAN AROUND AND GONE TO INSURANCE AND ARRANGED SURVEYER, TAKING TWO DAYS LEAVE FROM MY BUSY SCHEDULE. TOTAL BILL CAME TO 50000/- AND IN THE TIME OF TAKING DELIVERY THEY SAID THEY ACCEPT ONLY CASH AND VEHICLE WILL BE DELIVERED ONLY AFTER CLEARING THE CHEQUES. I FELT INSULTED AND AGITATED. ON DISCUSSING WITH CUSTOMERS IN THE SHOW ROOM I UNDERSTOOD,ENTIRE CUSTOMERS WERE FED UP WITH NISSAN. THOUGH I REPORTED TO NISSAN, THERE IS NO RESPONSE FROM THEIR END.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Excellent space and great comfort.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine performance is bad. Gear shift is very hard even after 1000kms driving.
Ride Quality & Handling Ride quality good. Gear shift horrible.
Final Words Pathetic mileage. Cheated byVibrant Nissan Secunderabad. Promised at least 14 in city driving conditions and the mileage I get is around 8-9. This is my second sunny and I was all praise for my first sunny which was XV diesel. However the CVT version is pathetic. My advise to all is to just go for other better cars in the market.
Areas of improvement Mileage, Customer service. I had taken the vehicle thrice to get the mileage checked and everytime I get a stock reply that it depends on driving condition. I have been driving for 22 years now and this is my first bad experience. The service team was of no help.
I am contemplating proceeding against Vibrant Nissan.

My grandfather wanted a no-nonsense petrol car and was in a confusion between verna sx and the city vmt as he felt they were a little overpriced and so i told him about the nissan sunny that was launched 1 week ago and we immediately went to the showroom. he liked the look of the car which was elegant and he liked the interiors too and also the features that were on offer and the price tag was also good and the rear seat made him wonder if it was really a c-segment car and he felt tht 99 bhp wasenough power for both city and highway and also with a nissan badge, he felt tht it was a steal. so we immmediately booked it and we did not get the car yet. nissan has done a good job. it has not only captured the c-segment buyers but also the d-segment buyers. well done nissan.
Exterior The exterior of the car looks royal,elegant, and pleasing, it resembles the bigger teana than the little micra.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Interiors are made of high quality materilals and very funcitional and also lots of features lik start stop system and a keyless go system,steering controls,usb slot,ver spacious rear seat and comfortable front seats.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox We have booked the car without test driving and the milage figures are pretty good and the power 99ps is also good.

Nice enough to look at.A lay man guesses the price at 15 odd lacs,thanks to the size of the car.An ego booster!

Feature laden,no other car is giving as many features for the price,space wise its more than you can ask for,I wish it had a little more of elbow space.Its a very comfortable car with not very low seats,a very light steering.It does'nt give much feel but is still better than the petrol.The suspension is a bit noisy and cannot filter sharp bumps,but gets much better as the speed rises.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox
The performance is more than you can ask for with a very strong midrange.You can virtually just press the accelerator and the car takes off without any judder,nomatter what gear you are in.Fuel economy wise it is fabulous.I get an economy of 30kmpl(At 70-80kmph)on the highway.Giving me an overall mileage of about 24-25kpl.The car being so light pays its dividends here.
Ride Quality & Handling
The ride quality is par for the course,gets better as the speeds rise.At low speeds,sharp bumps can filter through,also the suspension is not as quiet as one would want.Handling is safe but nothing to write home about.Well its a family car and if you want to be a boy racer, you would be getter off buying the Fiesta.The ground clearance too is quite high and nothing to bother about.
Final Words
I am impressed with the car's capabilities, its price to features factor,the size, as well as the handling of the dealer.Although its only been 20 days since I've bought the car,so will reserve the right to comment on after sales for later on and keep you guys posted on that front.
Areas of improvement
Improve the gearbox feel. Make the suspension more European car like in nature.Its a typical Jap car,light and tinny in feel but efficient nonetheless.

This is a beautiful looking caaaaaar! Soo spacious infact 6th person can sleep on its second row floor and the 7th in its monster boot (490 lts) !!! There are more pros for this gorgeous looking Beast than its cons. This is C+ sedan looking for some serious competion from D segment sedans(Audi A4)! I have driven this vehicle for 25000 km and everytime I drive this car I feel proud of owning this vehicle...Very good brakes , nice input from steering makes it a champ in its class..
As all cars do this vehicle has some cons too..Like the ground clearence..But do u think Indian roads are good for any foreign sedans? Infact Indian roads are buit for Trucks,bullock carts and cheap Tata vehicles (not much difference between Road speed brakers and mountains in south india though). Sunny is purely built for good express highways..If u are frequent traveller in village roads then Nissan Torrano is the good choice..
Sunny is a no nonsense full paisa vasool vehicle...you definetly get more than you paid for plus peace of mind..Their dealership has improved phenomenally..the quality of the vehicle is extremly good..the cabin noice is a little bit high at higher RPMs (130 kms plus)..But then I never got a chance to drive anything more than 130 kms (well again you know Indian Trucks on highways driving all around you taking their frustrations)..This vehicle promised to give me 21 and its giving 20.06 km highways at 100 kms and city 17..(many times I forget to fill its diesel tank)..Plus not so costly dealership and service costs makes me love this vehicle.
To conclude: If you are looking for a spacious comfortable( highway) Luxurious Sedan and which can suit your budjet( compared to Skoda or Volkswagon) with loads of boot space (infact you can sleep inside) this vehicle is for you. If you frequently drive more in city then CVT petrol Sunny is the best choice.
Buy this vehicle for Large Boot space, Acres of interior space, Reliable Efficient Engine , Comfort..improved dealership experience and if you are a frequent express highway traveller. Do not buy this vehicle if you are sports enthusiast and want to experiment this car on rough terrain .
