Updated Maruti Suzuki Swift spotted testing

An updated version of the Maruti Suzuki Swift has been spotted testing in the country by a fan of Team-bhp. The report suggests that the car is pretty much similar to what was launched for the global markets earlier this year and the only major visible external update that separates it from the current car is that it now gets LED daytime running lamps. The inside, while remaining the same in terms of design and layout now gets a few added functions. 

The pictures now show that the updated Swift gets cruise control and keyless entry and is also expected to include a new climate control system. However, this test car seems to have something else that is quite surprising. The fan who posted the pictures says that this test car is being powered by an under development 1.2-litre diesel engine which is likely to only see the light of day sometime in 2016. 

It is expected to be joined also by a four-cylinder 1.4-litre diesel power plant. Such a development is likely sign that MSIL is serious about its new diesel engine plant that is scheduled to be built in Gujarat and should have it up and running within the next two years.

However, in the current stream of events, we expect that Maruti Suzuki start offering the facelifted Swift by the end of the year.
