Tata Kite 5 compact sedan showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo

Tata has finally taken the wraps off its Kite 5 compact sedan concept car during the 2016 Auto Expo. It is a sub four metre sedan and will be sold alongside the Zica hatchback. It carries Tata’s Impact design philosophy and will be offered with both petrol and diesel engines.
 The Kite 5 has the same face and side profile up to the C-pillar as the Zica hatchback. Noticeable elements include the mesh grille with signature ‘T’ logo, heavily flared wheel arches and wrap around tail lamps at the rear. The Kite 5 measures 3.99-meters in length and has a fuel tank capacity of 35-litres.

It will get the same cabin as the Zica but with more space at the rear thanks to the compact sedan design philosophy. This concept car comes fitted with a 5-inch Harman touchscreen system that will among others have maps and a music sharing system called Juke-Car.  
The Kite 5 will replace the Indigo eCS in the Indian market and slot in below the slightly more expensive Tata Zest compact sedan. It will be offered with the 1.2-litre Revotron petrol engine and the 1.05-litre diesel mill found in the Zica hatchback.
The car is expected to be shown in production form later this year and is likely to be launched either by the end of the year or early next year.
