Suzuki has revealed a trio of concept cars that it will bring to the upcoming Tokyo Motor Show. Based on the Japanese automaker’s ‘Small cars for a Big Future’ concept, two out of the three are crossovers while the third car seems to be a mini sports wagon. All three cars are likely to go into production in the future but in a much saner form.
The first vehicle is the list is the Suzuki X-Lander two-door crossover. Based on the same platform used by the Jimny, it is a high riding crossover with chunky tyres and dune buggy design. It is powered by a 1.3-litre mill and mated an automatically controlled manual gearbox as well as a four-wheel drive system. The X-lander also gets an electric motor which makes it a hybrid.
Second in the list is the Crosshiker concept which like its four-wheel drive sibling is a two-door crossover and has originated from the 2011 Regina concept car. It gets a futuristic design but retains the overall shape that many can associate with small Japanese Kei cars. Suzuki says that it will be powered by a 1.0-litre petrol engine.
The final car in the list is the Hustler crossover sports mini car. It gets a boxy design with square edges. It has also spawned a Coupe version which shares the same look but has a sloping roof line and is slightly smaller in length to give it a sportier appearance. We expect that it will have some amount of the Japanese ingenuity with regard to getting maximum space out minimum existence.
These cars will be joined by the India bound iv-4 compact SUV and its current line up of small cars, jeeps and vans.
