South Korean manufacturer SsangYong has exhibited the new compact Tivoli SUV at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. The carmaker had launched this vehicle in Korea last month, when it was announced that the car will be made available in several international markets as well.
The stylish and premium looking car is the very first compact SUV offered by SsangYong. The car is base on the carmaker's new design language and is available in both, petrol and diesel engines that have a displacement of 1.6 litres. These mills that are Euro 6 compliant and highly efficient, come mated to a six-speed manual gearbox, with the availability of a six-speed automatic transmission as well. Customers will have the option to choose from four-wheel drive and two-wheel drive.
Pawan Kumar Goenka, President, Mahindra & Mahindra's automotive division, said, "Nothing can change fortunes of an automotive company faster than the launch of a successful product, and I believe Tivoli has that potential. We believe it will set several new benchmarks in the B-segment SUV category."
SsangYong has high expectations from this product that will be available globally by mid year. Considering the good demand of compact crossovers in India, we can expect Mahindra and Mahindra to introduce the Tivoli for the Indian market as well.
