Skoda India has hiked the price of all variants of the recently launched Rapid Leisure Edition by up to Rs 10, 000. The car was launched for Rs 7.79 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) on the eighth of July in a bid to boost sales of the model and is based on the Ambition Plus trim of the Czech automaker’s compact sedan.
The Leisure edition gets extra features like the portable navigation system with rear view camera, rear parking sensors, 15-inch alloy-wheels, door sill covers and leatherette seat covers. The Leisure variant will have all three options of Ambition Plus trim – the 1.6 petrol MT, 1.6 petrol AT and the 1.6 diesel.
The economic slowdown has hit all the major manufacturers and for some like Skoda who import major components like the engine and gearbox, the depreciating value of the Rupee seems to be having a hard effect on their profit margins forcing them to raise their prices.
Revised prices for the Skoda Rapid Leisure Edition (ex-showroom Delhi)
Rapid Leisure 1.6 MPI MT- Rs 7.89 lakh
Rapid Leisure 1.6 MPI AT- Rs 8.89 lakh
Rapid Leisure 1.6 TDICR MT Plus- Rs 9.16 lakh
