Two years after its India launch, Renault has unveiled an updated Koleos to the global market. The premium SUV from the French manufacturer gets upgrades both inside and outside, though the addition of the all-new R-Link infotainment system is the highlight of the new face lift.
The face of the Koleos gets a new chrome heavy grille, housing a bold Renault logo and a slightly modified bumper with new air vents. The car can also boast of its new two tone 17 inch alloy wheels. The UV will be available for sale in a new "Ebony Brown" paint scheme. The rest of the exterior remains untouched, but the minimal yet evident cosmetic changes do give the Koleos a refreshed look.
The changes to the interior though are more obvious. Inside, the Koleos gets its new R-Link infotainment system, with a seven-inch touchscreen that replaces the old digital multi-information display. The new system has embedded in it Renault's very own smartphone-friendly app centre, apart from displaying the sat nav and the reverse camera view. The R-Link system works via the console mounted joystick or through voice control. On the feature front, the new Koleos also gets a a Blind Spot Warning (BSW) system. The Koleos also gets an ebony brown interior to match the new exterior paint job. Leather seat options are also available of the pricier variants.
The oily bits of the car do not get a facelift and so the Koleos will still carry the same 2-litre, 149bhp, 320Nm turbo-diesel engine, along with the six-speed automatic gearbox. The model will still be sold as a five-seat all-wheel drive system housing the Bose sound system found on the current model.
