Range Rover Evoque facelift launch tomorrow

Land Rover will launch the facelifted version of the Range Rover Evoque in India tomorrow. The new car gets cosmetic changes and few additional features over the outgoing model.

The 2016 version of the Evoque gets a new bumper with sleek fog lamps and vertical vents for air intake. The bash plate has been repositioned and the front grille mesh is different compared to the previous mode. With the refreshed headlamps, this Evoque looks even meaner than before. There are hardly any changes to the side and rear profile and the only noticeable difference is the new alloy-wheels.

There are a few changes to the interior as well. The infotainment system has been updated and now uses an eight-inch touch-screen display. The dashboard is still black with aluminium housings, while there are more colour options for the leather seat upholstery and door trims.

The facelifted model is expected to use the new aluminium alloy engine, which is about 30 kilograms lighter than the current inline four-cylinder unit. The engine should be available in two states of tune 150bhp and 180bhp. Land Rover may also bring the Si4 turbocharged petrol engine producing 240bhp.

The Range Rover Evoque will be assembled in India as a CKD to compete with the likes of Audi Q5 and BMW X3. The price of the new model is expected to be in the range of Rs 55 lakh to Rs 60 lakh.
