Range Rover Evoque Convertible Photo Gallery

Following its debut at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show as a concept, the convertible version of the Range Rover Evoque has finally been shown in production guise. This new bold looking vehicle has been fully revealed and is headed for several global markets next year. 

As Land Rover’s first ever convertible model, the Evoque Convertible combines traditional Range Rover luxury with the distinctive appeal of a drop-top vehicle. 

The retractable roof arrangement makes the Evoque Convertible a bit heavier compared to the regular three-door model.

The fabric roof comes with a Z-fold mechanism for an uncluttered look when lowered. Land Rover says it’s the longest and widest currently fitted to any vehicle on sale today. 

The fully-automated roof of the Evoque Convertible stows in 18 seconds and can be raised in 21 seconds, at speeds of up to 48kmph.

Inside, the Evoque Convertible gets a high-resolution 10.2-inch touchscreen with Jaguar Land Rover’s next-gen infotainment system and InControl Touch Pro.

For safety there’s a roll-over protection system featuring deployable roll-over bars. The system deploys two aluminium bars within 90milliseconds, in the case of a roll-over situation.

The Evoque Convertible gets lightweight, all-aluminium four-cylinder petrol and diesel engine options. There’s also a 9-speed automatic gearbox on offer. 

The Evoque convertible will be manufactured at Land Rover’s Halewood plant in the UK, alongside the five-door and three-door models.

Land Rover has made it official that the Evoque Convertible will go on sale next year across several global markets. The car may arrive here in the Indian market as well.
