The next generation Renault Megane RS will make its debut at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show later this year but ahead of the official reveal, the patent images have surfaced on the interweb giving us a clear idea of what the car will look like.
The patent images show that the new Megane RS will Renault’s latest face but some aggressive tweaks like sporty bumpers and large wheels with a sporty but elegant design to match the go fast nature of the car. Also visible in the photos are heavily flared wheel arches, funky design for the alloy wheels as well as slightly lowered roofline.
Thanks to the reduced roofline and chunky bumper the rear-end too has gotten a sporty appearance. However, the biggest addition is a centrally mounted trapezoid exhaust which has been flanked by some very visible aero bits.
Mechanical bits are expected to include the 1.8-litre unit from the Alpine A110, four-wheel steering as well as the option to have a sport or a cup chassis. The Megane has always been Renault’s fighter to the likes of the VW Golf GTI, Honda Civic Type R and the Ford Fiesta ST.
