The new budget hatchback from Tata Motors will be called the Zica (a.k.a the Kite 4). We had known earlier that the Indian automaker had registered two names Zica and Sway and now, looking at a new video released by the automaker we can see that the new hatchback will be called the Zica while Sway is expected to be the compact sedan.
The Zica will be offered with both petrol and diesel engines. The former is a 1.2-litre three-cylinder unit while the latter will be a 1.1-litre three-cylinder unit derived from the engine that was offered with the Manza sedan. A five-speed manual is expected to be standard while there is a possibility of an AMT for at least one petrol variant.
This car is expected to replace the legendary but ageing Indica hatchback in the Tata hierarchy. We have already seen some glimpses of the design thanks to the previous teaser video that the automaker had released earlier this month. It will also be the first vehicle to be promoted by football star Lionel Messi after his signing on as Tata’s passenger vehicles brand ambassador.
