Mercedes Benz has launched two new models, the SL350 and the GL500 4MATIC in India. While the SL350 is priced at Rs 98.5 lakh ex-showroom, New Delhi, the GL500 costs 80.9 lakh ex-showroom, New Delhi.
The SL 350 is the quintessential Mercedes roadster featuring a 3498cc V6 engine developing 315bhp and 360Nm torque. The result is that the SL can accelerate to 100kmph in just 6.2 seconds. The SL also features a roof which folds down electrically. To save you from feeling rather cold in the winters, the SL gets Merc’s unique AIRSCARF system embedded within the headrests.
The GL500 on the other hand is positioned as a go anywhere SUV with a massive 5.4-litre engine offering 388bhp mated to the 7-speed automatic transmission. It features upgraded lights with integrated daytime LED running lights. The tail lamps too are LED in the GL. Inside the GL has been given Nappa leather upholstery and the third row of seats is electrically adjustable as well. The rear entertainment package on the GL offers 8-inch screens to play DVDs through a high end Harman Kardon audio system.
