McLaren has produced the 375th and final example of the P1, thereby bringing the curtain down on one of the most dynamically accomplished supercars ever made. Since its public debut at the 2012 Paris Motor Show as a design study, the P1 has made it to the headlines and broken many a lap times.
According to McLaren, production commenced in 2013, with all cars sold prior to the first car being delivered; the first car finished in Ice Silver paintwork and lots of carbon fibre rolled off the production line in September 2013.
The final example, on the other hand, is finished in pearlescent orange and features subtle design elements in raw carbon fibre weave, with the finish only visible externally on the splitter, diffuser and the aerodynamic blades along the lower body. Meanwhile, the lightweight wheels are finished in silver.
The production-spec P1 made its debut at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show and combined a highly powerful petrol engine and lightweight electric motor. The powertrain comprises a 3.8-litre, twin turbo V8 petrol engine with an electric motor which, together, produces 903bhp and 900Nm of torque. Thanks to all that power, the P1 can hit 100kmph from standstill in 2.8 seconds and hit a top speed of 350kmph.
