The country’s largest car manufacturer Maruti Suzuki has updated the Dzire Tour S with new standard safety equipment. The commercial variant is based on the second-generation Dzire and it now gets ABS with EBD, driver airbag, reverse parking sensors, speed alert system and seatbelt reminder for the driver as well as the passenger, as standard. The new standard safety equipment will be mandatory across all cars in the country effectively from 1 July 2019.
Changes are limited to new safety feature upgrades. Mechanically, the vehicle continues to be powered by a 1.3-litre turbo-diesel that generates 74bhp and a 1.2-litre petrol engine that produces 82bhp. The petrol variant is also available in a CNG option, which produces 70bhp. Both the engines are mated to a five-speed manual transmission.
A similar safety update will be available on the current-generation Dzire as well. Prices for the updated Maruti Suzuki Dzire Tour S is marginally higher than its older prices.
